  6. How premium FPL midfielders fared against 'big six' teams in 2018/19 5 days, 15 hours ago

Just a reminder about content we're looking at for next season.. We're looking to increase video output and are looking for users who are interested in helping out. We'd like to have short clips from fans or reporters right after games, which will contain initial reactions from people who have been at the game and know their team well. If you're an FPL manager who is interested in getting involved and will be attending your team's home matches (and maybe away too) you should get in touch. Email me or David (geoff@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or david.munday@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk) with info and how often you attend your team’s matches. It's still in the planning stages until we've gauged interest and can put together a proper plan but we'd like to set some things up soon. We're looking at video content but equally short written pieces might work too! A few more details are here where we initially had a callout: https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2019/04/30/how-fpl-com… » Read

  7. How premium FPL midfielders fared against 'big six' teams in 2018/19 5 days, 16 hours ago

The videos/audio/podcasts are a nice thing to listen to while doing other things. There are certainly different strategies for different managers but I think for me one of the things that often separates top 500k or top 100k scores from top 20k or 10k scores is some kind of hard to define lack of risk taking. Or more accurately 'calculated' risk taking. I see lots of managers going for low owned or out of form players and hoping for a big return to rescue a season or a GW when in reality the best move is to go for a reliable player who has a better chance of getting some returns. To use a baseball analogy, going for a home run on every pitch will likely mean you strike out, even though it also means you means you could get a run on any swing; it's about picking your spots to take chances » Read

Agree with all of that 🙂 I think having a few Community Members (or even one who wants to semi-lead it) who look at RMT and try to do a weekly HT would be a good way to approach it. Not just because I have quite a lot of small tasks like that which sometimes fall away when big projects come in but also because I'm interested in how users see RMT and want to hand as much of discussion-leading over to the Community as I can » Read

There are some site redesign things that are getting underway now and hopefully those will be ready for next season. They should go quite a way towards successfully separating comments out so people can find what they want. But also, if ever you (or anyone else) thinks there's a gap where something needs to be talked about more, you can write a quick post and use the 'flag' under the post to make mods aware of it. Write 'potential Hot Topic?' or something like that and we'll take a look, and can make it a Hot Topic. Hot Topics are a good way to have directed conversations about a topic and really should come from the Community, ideally. So everyone should feel free to flag whatever they think needs to be highlighted! And also, people should know that they can write Community Articles if they have a bit more to say than would fit in a normal Hot Topic - they don't need to be hugely data focused or anything but can instead just be separate places to give users a chance to talk about… » Read

Glad to have you back! The RMT is updated through the week and I try to add major news in all the time, so I try to tweak it every day. And then major updates come at least twice a week (where I look at every player), with usually one coming Friday midday and one on Monday by 5pm. I've considered timestamps but for various reasons it isn't something I'll be getting added. Part of that is because most of RMT is pretty close to up to date at all times, and also because there are so many small tweaks I do. Each of those would trigger a timestamp, but that wouldn't actually tell you about any increase in general accuracy. One thing I'd like to do more often next season though are Members Only Hot Topics or comments that look at the data in RMT - that will give everyone a chance to ask questions about specific players, share the projected data with other members, and it might help ensure that RMT is kept up to date to an even higher standard » Read
