  1. Zaha and Saka updates as Palace players impress ahead of plum Gameweek 9 match 3 hours, 22 mins ago

In all seriousness, a classic fixtures v form canundrum. Lukaku has been less than dreadful for his price tag (5.5m would have been a fair reflection !-he has 5 points more than Hwang despite more minutes), but has 2 or 3 plum fixtures. Vardy has been doing it for years, his form has been great,is the second highest points scorer in the game despite Leicester being indifferent till now (although the return of Evans in defence is huge). I think with Evans back and Kelechi in the team, Leicester are a different animal (how many sides have put 4 past Man U recently) and are an attacking team, but Chelsea are so defensive despite the resources at Touchel's disposal. I will get shot down by the herd, but I am going Vardy, and I get £1.1m to improve other areas. Good luck. » Read

Interesting. If so, maybe that is why until last weekend Pep has not been playing as he does not want Covid to spread around his squad ! 🙂 Get Laporte in at 5.5m ! » Read

  3. Vardy in top FPL form as Man Utd's defence struggles ahead of Salah test 4 hours, 58 mins ago

I suppose if you have Lukaku, you maybe hold for Norwich and at a stretch Newcastle if he blanks (again) against Norwich. Thing is at £11.7m ( compared to Vardy at 10.6M, who only Salah betters for points, he is massively expensive. I cant see him scoring against Northwitch let alone Norwich especially under (lets see how many defensive players I can get in a team) Touchel. Lumpaku and Ronaldo have been the two biggest distractions and up to owning either (I was daft enough to make adjustments to team to get CRN and the Lumpaku) I have gone from a 21k rank to 191k ! » Read

All very valid points, but its a low return for an 11.5m asset. Touchels's negative approach does not help him at all.I just have Armstrong whom having persevered from GW1, have run out of patience and the only way of releasing funds to replace Armstrong with someone half decent, is to get rid of Lukaku. If I hang on for the 3 gameweeks I suspect Vardy will no longer be £10.6 and Inheacho £7m. I also need to generate 0.1m to replace Williams of Norwich is a redundant bench option. » Read

You are right to a point although Vardy has been consistently delivering and is now higher than Antonio in terms of FPL points . I should add I am a Leicester supporter and not having Evans cannot be underestimated and the difference he makes to Leicester is massive. Rogers is also seeing the light in playing Inheacho also makes a big difference. Don't get me wrong I will worry what Lukaku may do in the next 3, but I think Vardy + Ihneacho is better than Lukaku + Armstrong. We will see. » Read

So hilarious to listen to Lets talk FPL ranting about Lukaku last night. There do seem to be fashionable name players that the twitter FPL "glittararti" go to. I totally concede that getting rid before the next 3 could be kamikazi, but really Lukaku under such a negative manager is feeding off scraps. I have ran out of patience with Armstrong so am going rogue to take out Lukaku and Armstrong to double up on Leicester attack of Vardy and Ihneacho before I get priced out. And for a minus 4, but its long term. I think its good to have strikers that play for attacking sides. Not only that having to watch Tuchels Chelsea to see how Lukaku does is boring me to tears. » Read

  8. Wilson and Son start as Newcastle host Spurs in Gameweek 8 1 day, 22 hours ago

Lukaku out v Norwich may well be stupid, but under Touchel he hardly threatens a haul. I have delayed bringing in Vardy for too long and with Evans back (although Vardy has still been scoring when Leicester have struggled this year), I am delaying no longer. Leicester will now improve which could yield even more benefits for Vardy. He also loves proving the big time Charlies wrong ! » Read

Lukaku (aka lumpaku on recent performances-he makes Rondon look mobile !) looks awful, although playing for an ultra negative coach such as Touchel does not help. His starting line up had 5 defenders (as usual) and a very defensive minded midfield. as such even against Norwich I am not sure he can be trusted. Patience not my strong point (even less so with negative coaches with mountains of resources at their disposal), but as my patience has blown with Armstrong I need to generate funds to get rid of him, so its Vardy in, Lukaku out. » Read

Lumpaku was terrible. It does not help with having such a negative coach as Touchel. He will put out a five man defence to negate a Norwich potent attack (lol). I don't care if he is playing Norwich. Vardy who has scored more points than him and Ronaldo put together will be an inevitable "anger" transfer. » Read

  12. Iheanacho starts for Leicester as highly-owned Antonio leads West Ham attack 15 days, 22 hours ago

I don't disagree with Leicester not looking great and I have no idea what Kelechi has done to warrant constant benchings or getting hauled off, despite scoring in his first start of the season. » Read

Roughly 25% of the points I managed in GW1 with Salah and Cancelo left. Transferred Jota out (Man C and like many did not think he would start) and now just booking my spot behind the sofa. » Read

Vardy has only 5 points less than Lukaku & Ronaldo added together, but we (I include myself in the "We") are fixating on getting both these in our teams. Chelsea scored 3 times yesterday and Lukaku did not assist or score in any of them. 29 points in one less game than Vardy. Ronaldo did not even start and just as importantly, Man U look dysfunctional with him in the side. » Read

  15. The best budget players to enable the premium FPL triple-up: The Scout Network 19 days, 58 mins ago

Chelsea have a great fixture run (obviously as if you wont have noticed), but there appear to be a number of issues re any tripple up:- a) Tuchel err's towards a negative approach and their creativity appears to be lacking. 3 holding midfielders at home to Man C was a joke. b) Lukaku's stats are relatively poor for his price and the likes of Vardy seems far better value. I will think twice about hopping off of Ronaldo. c) Apart from Rudiger and maybe Azpi, there is no certainty in terms of starts. In terms of defence I maybe will look at getting Reece James back in by GW8 or 9. d) There is nothing obvious in terms of form in midfield. I have Rudiger, but will wait for Lukaku to show better value, but maybe gw9 until he comes in. I maybe on here crying by GW10 ! » Read

  16. Robertson and Alexander-Arnold return to Liverpool XI as Jota starts again 23 days, 20 hours ago

That puts a different light on Chelsea assets. Man C were decent, but not sure I want to invest 11.6/7m in any striker playing for a Tuchel side. 5 (2 wing backs) defenders, 3 defensive midfielders for a home game. Negative to say the least. Not one shot on target. May just stick with Ronaldo. » Read

My point was some is good, some is indifferent, some is less than indifferent. Above all my point was, do your own stats homework, your own eye tests, learn the basic principles around chips and double gameweeks etc and that is a firm foundation. I listen to a couple of podcasts that in my humble opinion I consider good, ie Mark Southerns' Black Box, FPL Wire ( Big Man B has some good stats to offer) as they both do some decent homework and these guys have earnt their "stripes". FF Scout and FF Hub, Lets talk FPL are also decent. My point was there is a lot of noise, not that I don't listen to folk whose analysis is valid. Good luck have a good GW. » Read

Am fairly new to this fantasy game, but have been involved in football most of my life. One thing is very obvious is that there is a lot of content (youtube) and folk pedalling themselves as pro pundits "pedalling their wares" which introduces a lot of noise ( some of it good, some indifferent and quite frankly some of it of clown standard). I also wonder how many of these pro pundits have any coaching qualifications to be considered expert !. In short, do your own homework re stats, make sure players pass the eye test and bring yourself up to speed on some basic principles such as chips, double game weeks, blank game weeks, and it becomes a pretty simple game. Remember there will also be heaps of luck involved. Lastly it is supposed to fun so just enjoy. » Read
