2nd option with Nketiah instead of Greenwood, as he is likely to get more starts. » Read

  2. Premier League postponed indefinitely but plans remain to finish 2019/20 season 6 days, 1 hour ago

Yeah because you should only care about people who die from covid-19 as that’s the big news right now. About 150,000 people who die from other reasons every day don’t matter right? » Read

Thousands of people die every day at any point in time. You should just stop everything you are doing in life and mourn for those who have passed away at any point in time then. » Read

Well, Belgium just "gave" the title to Club Brugge... I'm a Man Utd fan so couldn't care less personally but I don't think a team that essentially won the league would be denied the title even if rest of the season is not played. » Read

Most likely outcome seems like Liverpool being given the title and no relegation given that it is unlikely any football will be played before August/September. TV deal is a potential issue but if it means sacrificing the following season or the remaining 9 games, the more profitable option will be the second one. They could then try to reach a settlement with all parties taking a part of the hit and perhaps try to find alternative solutions like letting Sky/BT televise more PL games in the following seasons or option to extend the current TV deal for a year with a discounted price. » Read

50 million estimate would suggest a mortality rate of over 0.6% which is likely a significant overestimation based on available statistical epidemiology data. The issue is most of the reports written by sole epidemiology experts are focused on the higher end of estimates and therefore overestimates the confirmed cases as a basis of % rate of infection. » Read

Based on the laws in place to protect employees, in most countries, players don't have to extend their contracts unless they wish to do so. Extension of the duration of an expiring contract is not a unilateral decision that can be taken by FIFA or the employers (football clubs). » Read

  9. Fernandes the key target for FPL managers using free transfers in Gameweek 31 16 days, 14 hours ago

None of the 3 mids are undisputed first choices in their positions and are rotated based on opponent (one of Ox or Keita plays against weaker teams etc). So it’s not really surprising, most key players started the vast majority of the games in the season. » Read

I disagree, financial implications are bigger if it’s not played at all. If it comes to it, they’ll play it behind closed doors. Also there won’t be a peak that’s even bigger as more people will gain immunity for the virus over time. » Read

Unless the virus mutates, the peak should be over by the end of Summer and next season should be fine, at least behind closed doors. » Read

World Cup is under Fifa's jurisdiction and would get priority over Euros so can't imagine it would get rearranged to accommodate regional tournaments. » Read

  16. Over 75,000 FPL managers use chip in Gameweek 30 24 days, 15 hours ago

Realistically the season has to be completed before June 30th (player contracts ending) and it seems very unlikely Premier League can be completed in that timeframe. There are still 10 matches to be played which would require at least 30 days and it would mean they would have to restart by the end of May. That’s when the virus is expected to be at its peak in the UK. » Read

  17. Plans for remainder of FPL season to be decided on Thursday 25 days, 7 hours ago

Salah, Aguero, Sterling, Richarlison. Antonio tends to do well when he is back from injuries. In terms of defenders probably those with settled teams and not many transfers in and out like Burnley and maybe Sheffield Utd. » Read

Those mortality rates assume that all cases are 'confirmed' whereas in reality majority of the cases don't even get tested. Therefore the reported mortality rates are significantly higher than they actually are. The actual mortality rate is estimated to be 0.3% to 1.0%. » Read

My company didn’t implement a working from home policy either and I’m not against the decision, this will go on for months and a lot of people don’t end up getting any work done from home. » Read

  20. Plans for remainder of FPL season to be decided on Thursday 25 days, 16 hours ago

It won’f be possible to play matches before end of June and teams will lose some of their players and obviously can’t play new signings in the remaining games so realistically I don’t see any chance of rest of the season being played. The possibilities are either to declare current standings final or declare the season void. Of course both are controversial but one of the two will have to be chosen. » Read
