    Understand your point - but in statistical terms sometimes more data does not mean more accuracy. It all depends on the nature of the data and the nature of what is being measured. In sports, due to it's highly dynamic nature, recent data tends to be more predictive than older data, which is why old data sets are discarded or carry a lower weighting when analysing. There is also a principle of sample size at play - often not necessary to get a massive data set when a smaller sample set will give a very similar confidence level of predictability. » Read
