I've applied it to the past 2 seasons worth of data and ended up with some interesting results.Jesus finishes right at the bottom, along with the likes of Barkley, Pogba and Richarlison.Notable names at the top: Lucas, Sane, Martial, Anderson, Mahrez, Son, Mane, Aguero, Salah, Bats, Deu, Gross, Eriksen, Sterling, Zaha, KDB, KaneIn the middle, we have Wilson, Rashford, Jota, Auba, Maddison » Read

Sometimes reading posts or listening to certain podcasts I often read/hear things such as "can't keep it up" and "will regress".This may be true in many cases, but it's often a lazy and easy way to ignore or dismiss an option. Why can't they keep it up? Just because it hasn't happened before? Things need to be assessed on a case-by-case basis rather than branding this kind of idea around all the time.I'm specifically thinking along the lines of Norwich and Pukki here, but the same could be said for any player/team. Wolves were a good example last season - for anyone who watched the Championship they were clear candidates to finish top 10 in the PL. » Read

There's those 3 and Barnes. Not that many. I'm not saying don't do it, but they certainly could dry up at the same time. » Read

Probably using xG the wrong way πŸ™‚For me, xG delta/shots over an extended period of time highlights the quality of a player's finishing.xG shows the average quality of a chance, not the quality of a chance for that player. » Read

Not sure. Could be great if they maintain it. I would always prefer to have an exit route, so playing 2 leaves the other as a transfer option. » Read

Not rarities, no. He will get some assists and goals over the season. He's a good option. Buendia is a better one though, imo » Read

Of course - there's lots of options doing well and it's not possible to have them all.Sticking with your chosen options is probably the key to doing well (as well as choosing the ones who are slightly better than others) » Read

Not sure.Buendia is the option if you want to play him every week imo.Cantwell will tick along (probably pretty unpredictably), but yesterday's game will be a rarity in that all of Norwich's chances were borne out of a team losing the ball high up the pitch and being unable to defend. Lower opposition won't provide that type of opportunity often and it's the more creative players (Buendia) that will profit more often. » Read

He has, but you're generalising to make your point. He had lots of patches of being fully fit and plenty of poor performances. One good game v Palace (who were awful) and suddenly he's an option?Let's say he turns everything around and is consistently great for Spurs, he will still miss too many games to make him a viable option. The Spurs full backs have always rotated. » Read

Pretty selective choices of performances there. Was full fit fairly often at Spurs and been atrocious. Off-field issues maybe, but that's always an easy excuse for players » Read

Dunno, depends what happens when it happens. But it's as easy to get him in as it is to own him right now. If anything, it will be easier if the player you bring in has a few price rises. » Read

CL has started. Even if he's "first choice" he will miss a fair few PL games, just as Trippier did. Take the risk if you want, but there's zero to suggest anything has changed.Plus, Aurier isn't even good and Spurs aren't exactly solid. » Read
