Sky Sports Focus

Filed under: Fantasy Football Games - Posted by: Mark

Having put the Fantasy Premier League in focus earlier this week, it’s now time to turn our attentions to the Sky Sports game. We hand out some glory to the top players in the Scout community, examine the rather puzzling Eden Hazard transfer trend and look forward to another episode of the Fantasy Football Club…

Scout League Standings

We’ve a new leader in the Scout League, with Ben Salter’s “Mondeo Man Can” ascending to top spot with 231 points, a total which also has him tied at the very top of the entire game. Mark Hayles holds in second place on 224 points, while last week’s leader Jonathan Lenharth claims third on 223. Interestingly, last week’s overall leader, Niels Koopman, has now joined the Scout League and sits in fourth.

Further down the Scout League table, I can’t help but notice that former Metro winner and Scout League champion, Pascal Evans, now sits ominously in ninth place. Below him, we have our top Scout Contributor; Andy has accrued an impressive 182 points in 20th spot.

In the League of Leagues table, the Scout League remains on top, with an average of 221 points so far.

Market Forces

Not only has Eden Hazard continued to command transfers in the Fantasy Premier League game, the Belgian has also been in demand here, despite having a blank fixture this weekend. With over 27% of transfers in involving Hazard this week, no other player can rival his appeal.

While FPL managers can, of course, bench Chelsea’s playmaker, that’s not the case in the Sky Sports game. With no price rise pushing the need to acquire Hazard, the trend is all the more curious and demonstrates the power of points won as the governing factor in the mainstream transfer activity.

It’s no surprise to see that Carlos Tevez, Robin Van Persie and Michu rank next in the transfers in stats, while further down the rankings we find Santi Cazorla and Nikaca Jelavic – both have been part of 5% of this week’s transfers in.

Wayne Rooney (42%) and Sergio Aguero (17%) predictably top the transfers out, while lower down the list, folk have been giving up on David Silva with 5% of transfers out involving the City Spaniard, reflecting the trend we’ve seen in the FPL following his stuttered start to the season.

Inevitably, today’s deadline moves are to have an impact on our future thinking. In particular, Dimitar Berbatov is bound to figure in the next couple of weeks – the Bulgarian sealed his deal to Fulham this afternoon and, at just 7.5 in this game, looks a shoo-in with goals, assists and man-of-the-match awards surely beckoning.

The Fantasy Football Club – 10pm Tonight

Tonight’s episode of the Fantasy Football Club will be on air live at 10pm with David James and Jobi McAnuff in the studio and potential Scout Pick, Steven Taylor, on the other end of the phone. Fenners and Merse will also be examining the day’s transfer dealings and the impact on our Fantasy lineups, no doubt with more input from their “ITK”.

  1. OK, this isn't really an RMT, more a 'have I missed any transfers affecting my T for this week.' I know about Maicon.

    De Gea
    Zabaleta Hughes Demel
    Kagawa Bale Pienaar McClean
    RVP Tevez Graham

    Subs: Federici; Maloney, Clark, Ivanovic

    1. Good to go, RVP or Tevez (C)?

      1. Probably RVP - I don't think there'll be much difference between their scores, so I'll go for the Utd player. He's also got less ownership.

        1. same here

    2. Nope...good to go! Although Zab will be at risk for the future with Maicon!

    3. Maicon joined City ;)

    4. Cheers, lads. I've got Maloney (STK) on the bench, worth playing him instead of McClean (swa) or Pienaar (wba)?

    5. You should add something like "I know about Maicon"

  2. Tevez or van Persie for captain?

    1. poll.

    2. Tough choice, i got both an am going vp, but only coz its those southy'z an they dnt know much

  3. Spurs lodge bid for Dempsey

      1. on skysports transfer deadline

  4. Maicon to city, ok heard that but the fpl point permetation begin to rack up in your mind from that 1 or 2 seasons that he had at inter an boo ya, a 150pts RB is born to the PL, scary stuff if he can produce.

  5. This day is too hectic for my brain. Transfer deadline and The International 2. I'm not going to bed today!

  6. Foster - begs
    Cuellar - demel - Rangel - saylor - clyne
    Hba - michu - fellani - hazard - Maloney
    RVP - tevez - ade

    .6 in the bank

    Thoughts on WC team. Cheers.

  7. So spurs and Liverpool have made bids for Dempsey. Where will he go?

    1. If it's up to him (ie if both clubs match Fulham's valuation), Liverpool.

      1. ^^^^This^^^^^^

    2. Think he wants Liverpool.

    3. Spurs, if he has a brain

      1. Liverpool if he actually wants to play.

    4. Links to actual bids?

    1. Bale on the right with Dempsey on the left? Full-backs to provide the width instead?

    2. Spurs? 8O
Why the heck do they need Dempsey?

    3. FFC to reject LFC bid odds?

    4. hope Spurs, great FPL prospect

    5. I don't want him.

  8. Anyone else having trouble with their gravatar pic not showing. The berba fever ones that is!

    1. Yours is supposed to be multiple Berbas coming out of the ground like badgers?

  9. Surely Arsenal should be moving for the likes of Dempsey? They let De Jong slip out of their grasp considering his valuation

    1. +1

    2. Hope not ,

    3. De Jong can't pass the ball.

  10. How does Dempsey and Siggy fit in the same side?

Same way as DVD and Siggy did ;-)

    2. My thoughts exactly....siggy gunna be warmin the subs bench up me thinks!

    3. Isn't Dempsey primarily a Winger?

      1. Primarily a goal scorer would be the most correct way of saying it. He can play everywhere, but he's not capable of not scoring goals. ;)

  11. is berba fit to be on the starting 11 against west ham or isn't this viable??

    1. Can't play. Signed after 12.

    2. signed too late I believe

    3. Wait until next week.

    4. If the transfer went through after midday, he can't play anyway.

      1. thanks for the info...

  12. Any update on Moutinho? This is the only transfer I care about today!

    1. complications over personal terms between spurs and the player

deal has stalled, won't go ahead unless spurs provide revised offer

    2. Think it indirectly has the biggest effect on FPL with AVB being able to change shape with Moutinho making Spurs play the way he wants. Helps Bale/Ade no end

      1. True dat. I just think he's a magnificent player!

        1. Yes it is and i am lucky to have it on my team(FC Porto)

    3. Daniel Levy is a tight fisted b*stard.

  13. News from here(Portugal) are saying that Moutinho will not sign for Spurs.

    1. Someone mentioned that he's even been included in porto's squad for tomorrows game?

      1. Yes,he is included.

    2. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

      I will not approve! No!

If they don't sign Moutinho then they better sign Dempsey or another well recognized CM.

Try could have had Joey Barton ;-)

  14. Joao Moutinho flying right now to Algarve with Porto

  15. Scout picks up

    1. No Spurs defender

  16. Bets Midfielder for a price of 5.1??

    Maloney/Routledge/Kaca? or any other?

    1. There aren't many....Guthrie/Kaca?

    2. Guthrie is the best option.

  17. NEW POST

    1. Source?

  18. Only 3 picks :)

  19. Is Chelsea going for a big striker? This would make it easier to drop Torres.

  20. Michu or Kagawa? Which one will be better value for money do we reckon?

  21. I laughed so hard at Bemba Da saying that he doesn't post links to his transfer rumours because sometimes he gets calls  Are you a middle man for Premier League players negotiating move? Or just extremely well connected with agents and club officials? Give it a break man, every story you have posted is straight from twitter or SSN.

  22. RMT please.

    Lloris Wright

    Maicon Oviedo Rose Bennett Mbia

    Moutinho Adam Sinclair Hernandez Dempsey

    Berbatov Carroll Bentenke

  23. Demel and Baker certain starters?

“I love to attack and I love to go up front...It is a little more difficult than when you are playing centre-back. If you play the way that I want to play, I think my influence is better as a left-back. For the team, it is best that I play as a centre-back. I like to bring the ball out. You need to move the game quickly, and that is one of my qualities as well.”
