Sky Sports Bring Fantasy Football Back To Our Screens

Fantasy Football is returning to our Friday night TV courtesy of a new show – The Fantasy Football Club.

We’re delighted to be amongst the first to announce the news that Sky Sports are launching a weekly show on Friday nights from 10-11pm, hosted by “Fenners” (pictured above) and Paul Merson.

The first episode will go out live on August 17 on Sky Sports HD and will mark the return of Fantasy Football to a TV audience following the demise of Baddiel and Skinner’s Fantasy Football League way back in 1996.

The Fantasy Football Club will feature celebrity guests each week, with analysis of their Fantasy lineups and the key Fantasy Football topics amongst the discussion. No really, we’ve been promised.

The Sky Sports’ own Fantasy Football game will, not surprisingly, feature throughout with a focus on the leaders and top teams. Fantasy Football Scout are supporting the game with our own league this season – details on how to join our league can be found below.

We’ll also be getting exclusive access to the team behind The Fantasy Football Club prior to the first airing, with more details to come before the August 17 kick-off. In the meantime, you might want to follow the show on Twitter right here.

And no, before you ask, I’m not the new “Statto”.

      who would the 2 be? Podolski and Giroud? all new strikeforce, sooooooo risky
      not to mention all the good centre midfielders theyve got, and walcott and gervinho would not offer myuch defensive cover on the wings

        I said in an earlier post I was thiknking of playing Diaby and that I wanted to hear from the guy who was trying to convince FFS he's gold..so why you think Wenger will play him/he will play well?

          Sorry, Riddler. I'm that guy, and I missed your post.

          I still think that Wenger will play him in the first game. Especially as Rosicky and Wilshere are out injured. He also has the quality to make a difference. Like all Arsenal midfielders, he's comfortable on the ball, but he's very creative also. He makes intelligent runs and can unsettle the opposition. His positional play is also excellent. It's always available to take a pass. Really a complete player. I'm thrilled that he's fit again. I believe that he can fill the Cesc Fabregas shaped hole that's been in the team ever since his departure.

          I'm glad that Wenger pulled him off at half time though. When I saw the rain, I got anxious that someone would slide in late on him.

          I got my first glimpses of Eisfeld too. He probably won't start any games, but he looks very elegant on the ball and Arsenal seemed to have attacking impetus whenever he was involved today. He'll more likely be in competition with Walcott and Chamberlain for a starting berth though.

          Ah man. Personally it's one of the best docs I've ever seen boy. It's about a group of drinking, smoking late 30+ers from Sweden, and 1 ex-pat, who set up a male sychronised swimming team to put meaning into their lives. Honestly man you should hunt it out.

                Garg / Damo, try Bus 174, its a documentary about a bus hijack in Brazil, made up of news footage from the actual event and interviews with the hostages and people from the hostage takers background. Its utterly brilliant, one of the best films I've ever seen, let alone documentaries.

    I don't really get the love for Gervinho.. from what I remember from last season, he's very quick but a bit clumsy and makes bad decisions? Or is it just me..?

      I like him as a Gooner as he completely disrupts defences. Runs into the box without a clue as to what he is doing, defenders aint got a clue either and fall out of shape and thus RVP has space.

        I get that, he scares the shiiit out of defenders when he's got space to run into. But as a FPL prospect he just never seems to get the ball out from under his feet to where it needs to go i.e the goal, to someone who's going to score.

      He was very good at Lille. 28 goals in 67 matches in Ligue 1.

        Maybe he'll have a better 2nd season, but tbh his finishing has looked pretty poor in the Prem.

        It will be at least 2 weeks yet. We have around 100 places to sort out (certain people have automatic entry) from around 150 entries. After that we have to sort through league and team preferences to see how many we can realistically give out. This will not be a short process.
