Having added statistical maps to our Match Dashboard a week or so ago, we’ve now brought these new aids into the Player Profiles and, more importantly perhaps, the Stats Comparison Tool.

Our Members can now compare two players head-to-head and get both a statistical view and a graphical view of a players performance. Our new maps allow you to plot stats such as Shots, Chances Created, Crosses, Dribbles, Passes and an array of defensive stats. These can, of course, be filtered by a range of Gameweeks or matches and by home and away fixtures.

The next step is to add a heatmap that will plot a player’s touches on the pitch. We’ll be bringing that to you very soon.

The movie below offers a walkthrough of these new features, running a comparison between Sunderland’s Stephane Sessegnon and James McClean’s over their last six matches.

Memberships are still available for £12.50 up until the first weekend of the season. Click here for details on how to register or upgrade your account and for all our preview movies so far.

      Bulletproof you say;

Its pretty solid and looks well balanced with nice cheap but playable benchers and viable captain options also.

It's good. But expensive defense, and lots of risks in Michu, Maloney, petric and Tevez.

      Could do well though.

I think people are underrating defence on here a bit. I'd rather start with some strong ones with goalscoring capability and then downgrade if we get some budget options like last season.

          I prefer the latter.

You'll want money up front to jump on the bandwagons, and only later do you really discover the defensive gems and can then reallocate.

Each to their own i guess. Just looking at City, Chelsea and Utd' early fixtures, i can't decide who will keep more CS so i got coverage from all. I like having to option to easily get Walker, Johnson, Rafael etc... aswell.

I think the point is that whilst we know the Kompanys and Evras will outscore Hangeland and Saylor - will they do so to outweight the difference between a cheaper and expensive midfielder?

          Apart from 200pt Baines

I guess not. But for me, their are soo many question marks over the big midfielders at the moment that is is hard to choose between them. I've got 2 so i should be able to swap if needed.

Is it too risky benching Bale first week. This is because i wont' have enough transfers to be able to take people out of my team after 1st gameweek.

    Federici, Cerny
    Tomkins, Cole, Rangel (McCartney, Gunter)
    Toure, Sinclair, Noble, Hazard (Bale)
    Rooney, Aguero, Pogrebnyak

    Planning to do

    Hazard -> Pienaar
Pogrebnyak -> Graham before GW 2-3.

    Recommendations?

You havnt thought things through you currently have no keeper for week 3 and Pog in my opinion even at 5m is not a good pick there is no ready made replacement in that price catogory so you will more than likely have to take a hit to get rid of him, and he is playing for a promoted team who rely more on a solid backline than trying to outscore the opposition Readings fixtures are poor don't be sucked into getting stuck with there players for the sake of an extra game not worth it.

    Federici, Jaask
    Terry, Rafael, Cuellar, Hughes, Gunter
    Mata, Lampard, VDV, Pienaar, Noble

The Aguero/Tevez combo is for GW1-3 only, unless they both go nuts and become un-droppable.

I see your point though - any ideas on a cheaper alternative? If they don't sign another striker then Defoe could be a steal at 7.5m. Would also make Jaask -> De Gea/Friedel doable.

Defoe could be a bargain if Spurs don't sign anyone. Jelavic is the route I am considering for my own team. He was outstanding at Rangers and hooked up perfectly with Nais. Glad to see that partnership reforming.

Yeah, I like Jelly also, but with Pienaar in my team already I'm wondering if that's Everton overkill. I've not been overly impressed with the CHE defence in pre season - perhaps worth dropping Terry -> Clichy (Jaask -> Friedel), or Terry -> Koscielny (Jaask -> De Gea), or Terry -> S Taylor (Jaask -> Cech). Would need to switch Federici also if doing the latter.

Anyone remember their starting team from last year?

My goodness I had an awful lot.

    Given, Vorm
    Cole, Simpson, Orr,
    Malouda, N'Zogbia, Moses, Sinclair,
    Van Persie, Carroll, Holt

That's what I can remember. It was a trainwreck.

Hopefully this season I can look back more fondly on it.

It's interesting to note that I picked some outright fails like Malouda, N'Zogbia, Carroll and Holt, but I also was on the right track with the likes of RVP, Sinclair, Moses, but they just didn't score well from the start.

Learning from history 😉 Play the fixtures. A strong start is important! And players you think will do well probably will, but not right away.

it's guesswork and heavily dependant on rumour, likely sourced from twitter

That said Swansea have lost Caulker, Allen, Sigurdsson and now potentially Sinclair

they've brought in several that will need bright starts to fill those gaps early weeks

He's a good shout also. But I think Richards is only out for a week or so and he provides stiffer competition to Zabs than Kolarov does to Clichy. A big risk with both though is the old getting subbed off at 59 mins!
