Having added statistical maps to our Match Dashboard a week or so ago, we’ve now brought these new aids into the Player Profiles and, more importantly perhaps, the Stats Comparison Tool.

Our Members can now compare two players head-to-head and get both a statistical view and a graphical view of a players performance. Our new maps allow you to plot stats such as Shots, Chances Created, Crosses, Dribbles, Passes and an array of defensive stats. These can, of course, be filtered by a range of Gameweeks or matches and by home and away fixtures.

The next step is to add a heatmap that will plot a player’s touches on the pitch. We’ll be bringing that to you very soon.

The movie below offers a walkthrough of these new features, running a comparison between Sunderland’s Stephane Sessegnon and James McClean’s over their last six matches.

Memberships are still available for £12.50 up until the first weekend of the season. Click here for details on how to register or upgrade your account and for all our preview movies so far.

    A. Hughes, McClean, Guthrie
    or
    B. Rafael, Noble, Maloney

    Pick one lads.

    - With A, I get Pienaar and McClean in midfield, giving me two strong options
    - With B, assuming Rafael is nailed on, I can start him every week (the odd rotation shouldn't be a problem), which I don't get with Hughes above.

rafael is not even remotely nailed on, so that's a silly assumption 😉 hughes is more nailed on, but still not entirely... why not cuellar? or do you have him too?

        I do have Cuellar 🙂

        Freidel, Federici
Lescott, Terry (to Saylor), Cuellar, Hughes, Demel
Valencia, Lampard (to Bale), Pienaar, McClean, Guthrie
        Aguero, Torres (to Rooney), Graham.

        Thoughts?

good team tbh. don't like friedel much, i know the rotation's good but if it's anything like avb's chelsea the clean sheets won't be there regardless of fixtures. i have the lampard--->bale plan too, but i'm going for rooney ahead of torres for GW1 just 'cause at this point it's actually a differential 😛

I'm contemplating that too. I just KNOW Torres will flop. But it's the Spanish supporter in me that's keeping him in my team. 😆

here we go people, my first RMT.

    friedel, federici
    rangel, cole, hughes, mccartney, cuellar
    hazard, bale, guthrie, ireland, pienaar
petric, aguero, torres (rooney in gw2)

0.5 in the bank in case of emergency.

i'm concerned about not having a city defender in there, but really cant get more than one expensieve player in the back and chelsea double means it goes to cole.

He might want to but for I think it's better for the team if he plays out wide and leaves Ireland playing in the hole. Especially with Albrighton out and I don't think Ireland can play anywhere else in that setup?

I'm seeing a lot of unproven £9m MIDs in teams. How many points are you expecting from them over the course of a season? Or, in the case of Hazard, is it a calculated punt for the Chelsea DGW then get rid?

Don't be so sensitive.. I don't think you can infer tone with a written sentence, especially one with a smiley on the end 😉 I was just thinking someone is going to say Kagawa isn't 9m, but I didnt want to be any more specific than that.. hey ho! Certainly, no rudeness meant.

Am just thinking that a fair few teams on FFS are going to get burnt by not downgrading their midfield and ignoring the likes of Vidic, Baines and Vermaelen ... these are regular high PPG scorers at the £7m price point, that should score 150+ points.

By all means, you need 1 or 2 big hitters in midfield in order to jump onto a form player like Nani, BT I think too many are overlooking he bread and butter source of points.

That's a pretty interesting way to look at it. I've kind of settled on two 6.5m defenders just because it seems easier than normal to pick a defence this year. I struggle to find good value in midfield and from the cheaper strikers.

Have you managed to get a decent squad together with one or two of those big defenders in it?

Yep, I think so. Chelsea's DGW skews my ideal back 5 somewhat as Cole looks like the better option to start with. Zabaletta could be a bit of a bargain too, but after the initial few GW's, I think they can be upgraded to defenders with goal threat, without making too many compromises elsewhere.

6 points + bonus + assist/goal at £7m can easily trigger a mass load of transfers.

Yeah, I was a big fan of it, and also 5-2-3. Used to load up on the most expensive defenders I could find, play Tim Cahill and Lampard in the middle and three dirt cheapies up front, like Leroy Lite and Doyle of Reading and Marlon King of Watford. Good times.

i have nasri but he comes with his own risks :p i think he's nailed on to face southampton though, especially with silva not being a likely starter. TBH i think the midfield options between 7-8.5 are pretty dire in general. i don't think kagawa's a bad pick though, have a feeling he'll establish himself - fergie tends to keep in players on exhilarating form and kagawa's been looking good pre-season.

picking arsenal/spurs ahead of them is p ridiculous to me :S last season's figures are irrelevant 'cause of AVB. if chelsea have a deep-lying defense (and chances are they will under RDM) they should be pretty supreme defensively.

Check their league figures under RDM then. Spoiler: it doesn't make for great reading. What? Yeah, cos deep-lying defense = supreme defense 🙄

Arsenal and Spurs kept many clean sheets last season. Arsenal are not as bad defensively as people make out and Spurs may flourish under AVB's high line as they have faster players to make it work.

the majority of chelsea's defense is proven to be outstanding over a number of years, the only issue with whether age is detracting from their pace; but if they're lying deep, they won't need so much pace. is my point.

my other point is that chelsea have so much attacking prowess and depth that they're going to probably finish 10 points ahead of the likse of arsenal and spurs minimum, and teams will have less opportunities to attack them even if all three teams have defenses of a similar standard.

they're close to getting azpilicueta too.

i agree spurs might flourish under AVB's high line but i still don't think they're gonna be clean sheet central. that squad hasn't exactly been built with clean sheets in mind... arsenal meanwhile will keep clean sheets as long as they keep their back 4 fit, but with sagna already injuerd and their absolutely abysmal defensive depth i just can't see it over a full season.

not that i was just talking about stats anyway. i've seen enough of those two and heard enough about them from those in the know to respect their ability, albeit shown elsewhere than england. in both cases they exceed swansea's reputation and both signings are considered a bit of a coup.

Hangeland - Lescott - Cole (Clyne - Demel)
        Hazard/Mata - Bale - Piennar - Noble (Britton)
        Aguero - Rooney - Petric/Graham

        So the questions I have:
        1) Petric or Graham?
        2) Who is Wilson? Will he play for sure? I could go Hangy to him and then move Britton to a Moloney. Worth it?

petric might be a good choice short-term, graham probably more reliable in the long-run. although swansea are about to loan some striker from kaiserslautern i believe, in which case maybe that'll encroach upon graham's gametime?

i don't think wilson is nailed on? you could go for cuellar though, he's 4.5 and a certain starter for a solid mid-table team with a decent defense.

Was talking to a Man Utd fan today. He's adamant that under BR and his system, Pool are in for a great season. He thinks if Rvp leaves Arsenal and if Spurs fail to sign a striker, Liverpool have a chance to finish in the top 4.
I personally think it'll take us 3 seasons to get back into the top 4 as BR needs time for his tactics to work.

i just don't think you have the personnel right now, or the depth. as a utd fan i sort of hope you don't keep patience with rodgers, 'cause i can see him doing a fine job in the long run, but top 4 this season is a little ambitious.... i think you should be aiming for 6th and then maybe pushing CL next season if possible.

I think you'll finish 6th, maybe 5th at best. Your first XI looks pretty decent and should flourish under Rodgers, the squad is a little thin though so I think you'll be run out of the race for the top 4 over the long haul with a manager at the helm who has yet to experience such dizzying heights. Give it a season or two and I think you may be right. Let's see how this first season goes though..

Fixtures are something on paper. Plus Liverpool's tough games are at Anfield, don't see City/Utd/Arsenal scoring more than 1 in each of them.

actually could be a good punt, i suppose. liverpool at anfield could be pretty airtight especially if they're keeping the ball better under rodgers. then again, you could probably get someone just as solid for the same price with infinitely easier fixtures 😉

Discussing Fantasy football at 2PM at night. Some us need to get our priorities right. On the other hand letting fantasy football dominate your life, gives you a sense of relaxation and calmness.

    OOOOOOOOH Soooooo nice 😛

Downgrade Vidic to Demel, and Baines to Clyne, and upgrade Noble to Silva... or whatever!!
