Having added statistical maps to our Match Dashboard a week or so ago, we’ve now brought these new aids into the Player Profiles and, more importantly perhaps, the Stats Comparison Tool.

Our Members can now compare two players head-to-head and get both a statistical view and a graphical view of a players performance. Our new maps allow you to plot stats such as Shots, Chances Created, Crosses, Dribbles, Passes and an array of defensive stats. These can, of course, be filtered by a range of Gameweeks or matches and by home and away fixtures.

The next step is to add a heatmap that will plot a player’s touches on the pitch. We’ll be bringing that to you very soon.

The movie below offers a walkthrough of these new features, running a comparison between Sunderland’s Stephane Sessegnon and James McClean’s over their last six matches.

Memberships are still available for £12.50 up until the first weekend of the season. Click here for details on how to register or upgrade your account and for all our preview movies so far.

Q: With everyone sure to captain a Chelsea player first GW, is it maybe worth a punt captaining Aguero instead?

I was thinking the same thing.

However, selecting Torres is too tempting. DGW, Nailed on to start as only striker, Top 4 club. wig/RDG, Golden Boot form past Euros.

It should be a no brainer.

If RVP goes to United, are you staying clear of both RVP and Rooney? Do you figure they will split goals?

Funny, when Rooney becomes a punt ...

But I'm staying clear, I think. I plan on a MF from Utd ... I have two in now 😉 I have RVP, but the simple fact that he hasn't played means he'd be unlikely to get 60+ anyways. So I'm looking at a downgrade ...

Rooney will surely remain #1 in the Utd lineup, though (RL). Pens and such.

Would put me off them both tbh. Fergie will spring his usual upredictable team selections with RVP added to the mix it just inxreases the uncertainty. Wellbeck & hernandez will both get significant gametime next year, whether its through 30 minute sub appearances or actual starts

Whatever striker they sign will just replace bendtner though... Sessegneon willplay off the front man, similar tolast year. I wouldnt go for him though, purely because i held onto him for the first 7 weeks of last year & he didnt get a single goal or assist. Then as soon as i ot rid he started delivering. The bollix.

    B) Suarez + 8.5-9m midfielder (Kagawa, Nani, Valencia)

I feel that FPL is played for the short term. Yes, your team structure is set a certain way for the season, but most of the players you choose are in there for their form or fixtures.

So depending on that, I'd say for the near future A. And if Suarez maintains form, then over the season B with Valencia.

With all the doubt surrounding the top teams (Man City Defense, forward line, United Midfield and Fat Shrek, RVP, RVP, RVP, Chelsea Midfield) i'm increasingly thinking the pragmatic move will be to Wildcard in the international break this year. Pick the form 6.5 mids and forwards etc.

As such, here is an example team.

    Al Habsi, Green

    Hughes, McCartney, Gunter, Rangel, Cuellar

    Bale, Valencia, Mata, Noble, Maloney

    Aguero, Tevez, Torres

Yeah, this 'Valencia at RB' thing should be dispelled. At the worst contingency, he can be used there. Assuming you're planning on him for longer than 2 weeks, he'll be back up front.

But his role is a winger/feeder to Rooney. I don't have the stats, but Roon feeds off of Valencia's style and delivery of the ball. SAF won't sacrifice that for a RB for long. Unless Rafael is injured, he is a possibility, along with Jones.

Would be grateful for your thoughts on the following:

    Federici / de Gea

    Baines / Cole / Hangeland / McCartney / Fonte

    Bale / Mata / Noble / Maloney / Guthrie

    Torres(+2m) / Aguero / Graham

I was pretty set on the idea of having Baines as a '6th midfielder' but I struggle to think of a scenario where I would actually want to play 4 at the back - which means I'll be playing 2 of the cheap midfielders almost every week - which isn't great. Or maybe it is...

Please let me know what you think!

if you want a 6th mid, you should look at someone like emerson boyce...someone who's your 6th mid when you want him, but who's also cheap enough to bench when adverse fixtures come along. would be tough to justify benching 7.0 baines....

then use the money you save there to upgrade one of your other very weak defenders into someone you can play every gw with cole.

    B) Friedel + Federici

I originally had B, but I'm doubting tottenham's defence due to:
they have struggled to keep a cs in preseason
Injuries to Parker and Sandro weaken protection in front of the back 4
AVB's tendency to play a high line, leaving the defence exposed.

I'm intrigued why you have gone for Sinclair with all the transfer rumours going around. Side looks good otherwise a lot of big names in there but I see you have gone for the super cheap defence.
Not bad I have to say and I like that you have backed Newcastle early on as well. The same team and manager is there so there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to carry on keeping it tight at the back.

The defence has taken a hit but I wouldn't underestimate Swa/New/Ful. They're totally capable of equalling the big sides quota of CS in the first 10 weeks. Amazing fixtures!

Also, as you say, formed the team around a core of 4 Che/Mci attackers.

Not a big fan of Yaya, won't get past 140 points in a season. For 8 million id expect more.

Surely Spurs will have a striker before the window closes. Consider, Jelavic, Bent or Cisse/Ba instead of Defoe.

Rest of the team looks good though

A bit of United bias coming in your way. You do realize Utd don't have the best of fixtures. I'd still go with Roo over both of Val & Nani. Worth it.

Quite a few uncertainties, CF. Hughes & Nani's starting place. Newcastle are looking to sign a new CB and RB as well. Saylor could be tricky. Petric - unproven in the PL.

    GK: Federici (Cerney)
DEF: Hughes, A.Cole, Evra (Clyne, Demel)
MID: Larsson, Guthrie, Bale, Dempsey, (Britton)
    FWD: Roney, Graham, Aguero

Pretty stock standard, 1.5mill left. Thoughts on how to improve it??

Yeah, I think you could get away with holding onto Fabio as he rotates well with a few defenses, but come GW3 you will probably be looking to offload Taarabt. If your offloading Chelsea boys before GW3, that is allot of transfers tied up.

Yeah I know. I'm thinking of not starting with Taarabt. Its really only his first two fixtures that are all right then it gets tough. I'm thinking Michu and Petric over Taarabt and Graham as a result.

If you don't recognize the name, this could get awkward..:D

Fair enough on the Michu choice, only other real 6.5 choice id rate is Larsson (but you have McClean already) and Pienaar. So you should be fine 🙂

Can any wise sage kindly help a gibbering wreck with defensive rotation. Have City and Chelsea defenders so need 3 cheapies. There will inevitability be a surprise package who's worth jumping on, so I am only interested in the first 10 or so weeks
