Over the last week or so the Fantasy Football Scout fold have been sharing our innermost thoughts with regards to some of the most “Burning Questions” ahead of the new campaign. To accompany our views there, here’s our annual quick-fire round of predictions, where we let you know the players each of us are tipping to shine in a new season…

As our entry from last year will show you we’re prone to making the odd mistake (or seven). Steve Kean, eh? Who would have thought he would still be in a job. Even after he got Blackburn relegated, as half of us rightly predicted.

Here follows our thoughts on the year ahead. Soak it in and then join the discussion and offer your thoughts and counter-comments down below.

Andy, that’s my good self, kicks things off for 2012/13 with what is no doubt a bit of a fancy for one player in particular. And it’s not even Gylfi Sigurdsson. This is almost partisan from our resident all-rounder.

The Premier League

Top Five (1-5): Man City, Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham
Bottom Four (17-20): Norwich, QPR, Wigan, Reading
This year’s Overachievers: Aston Villa

Second out of the traps is Big Dunc. One of two Everton fans on the Scout payroll our resident toffee can’t help but get a little bit excited at the prospects of his club. Is he mad? We’ll find out by May.

The Premier League

Having signed mid-way through last Stilicho gets his first Scout attempt to show everyone just how prophetic he is. His opinions on Norwich pretty much separate this gent from everyone else involved so he’s either a mad heretic or the one we should all be looking to in the future.

The Premier League

Top Five (1-5): United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs

Granville gets a weekly platform on the Scoutcast to discuss and debate with Mark on all things Fantasy Football related. In this post he has, perhaps unsurprisingly, decided to pick some answers from the red side of Manchester. What’s more surprising is that we can see some light blue too.

The Premier League

Top five (1-5): Man United, Man City, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea
Bottom four (17-20): Wigan, Southampton, Norwich, Stoke
This year’s Overachievers: Aston Villa

Top Scoring Budget Forward (6.5 and under): Djibril Cisse

Also having his first dabble at infamy is Jonty. With no Premier League allegiances for this Brighton fan, his picks can come untainted by any frivolous behaviour. He wisely agreed with me about a certain West Brom player.

The Premier League

Top Five (1-5): Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool
Bottom Four (17-20): West Brom, Reading, Norwich, Southampton
This year’s Overachievers: Sunderland
This Year’s Underachievers: Spurs

Top Scoring Budget Midfielder (6.5 and under): Steven Pienaar
Top Scoring Budget Forward (6.5 and under): Danny Graham

Anorak may be our resident specialist when it comes to the men in black but he also likes to think he can be a dab hand at Fantasy football too. As far as top goalscorer predictions, he marks himself out as the black sheep of the Scout fraternity by being the only one not to tow the party line.

The Premier League

Having churned out more top quality articles than Anchor have butter, Paul is well versed on all things Premier League and as such we expect him to score 100% when we mark his results in May. Even if one of his answers is Emmerson Boyce, who are we to second guess?

The Premier League

Mark The guv’nor brings up the rear and clearly has a problem with Swansea’s prospects, whilst talking up that Southampton mob. Mark backed Grant Holt last season and, similarly, he’s going with Rickie Lambert to turn up with a similar goal spree. Oh, and he still fancies Leighton Baines. Must be the haircut or the record collection.

No. There is a good article on the UefaCouncil site (I don't have the link) that suggests he will get soe playing time but is not nailed on for both. I have him anyway . . .

I see no point in having HRK unless you play him DGW--there are more nailed-on 4.5 mids. I am taking a punt that he gets some time and scores some points. Could crash and burn. Guthrie will at least get you four points and that COULD be more than you get out of N'Zog. In my mind it's a gut decision on whom you fancy.

I am no expert, but for reliable playing time Britton, Al Ahmadi, or Guthrie, for potential to score big points if he wins a starting role Kankles and HRK. I'm sure I missed someone.

An RMT from last year(start of the season)

    Given (Ruddy)

Kompany – Carragher – Orr (Simpson, Young)

    Nani – Kuyt – Moses – Taarabt (O’Hara)

    Rooney – Bent – Rodallega

Thanks lads if you could rate it, appreciate it a lot.

    Here's the replies:
It’s not laziness but I think your team is pretty hard to find flaws in.

My one criticism is having Moses and Rodallega seems a little bit of Wigan overkill. I would personally only have one.

Carragher and Kuyt are perhaps a bit original (I smell a Liverpool fan) but not “bad” picks.(from MR. Tackle)

Id’ go for Agger if you insist on a 6m Liverpool defender. more likely to score goals. But really i’d downgrade to Enrique and spend the money somewhere else.

Is anyone playing Aguero and Tevez AND YAYA... or too much? I had carzola but now he's a bloody doubt.

So my team looks like this...

    Fed (Jaask)

    Cole Hangeland Gorkss (Clyne, Bennett)

    Yaya Bale Lamps(c) HRK (Kank)

    Torres Aguero Tevez

    Any ideas guys?

Lol I'm thinking of two 4.5's n all, to accommodate up top but surely its a short sighted plan which will use valuable transfers which could be used elsewhere.

It'll drop even if he does do something. He's just a DGW punt.

In the same boat, really want Kun Tevez Torres for GW1, but it would mean a pants midfield which would take a while to sort out unless hits were taken.

    Judging by Wengers' pressers:

He will sell Song if he gets Sahin(otherwise not)...Is Sahin a Song type player...I thought He was more of a Busquets, Modric type

Not that similar really but Sahin will sit deep and I suppose he can break up play from there

I thought I had everything sorted but I have one final question, if someone would be kind enough to offer opinion!

    de Gea | Federici
    Cole A | Zabaleta | Cuellar | Demel | Fonte
    Bale | Mata | Kagawa | Dyer | Guthrie
    Torres | Tevez | Graham

(with the standard 2mil in the bank)

My question is do I keep Kagawa and Dyer or spread my options with Pienaar and N'Zogbia? Any replies much appreciated.

I guess Everton are slow starters, so you need to wait and see if Pienaar hits. Also, look if N'zogbia clicks or not. So for me second option.

Hey Guys, will really appreciate your help. Can I start the season without rooney, RVP, augero and torres? And are my budget defenders: barnet and demel nailed on?

    Dea Gea (jaskalaienen)
    Clark Zabaleta Ivanovic (Barnet Demel)
    Bale Ramirez Guthrie Nasri Mata
    Tevez Bent (Graham)

Trying to start with Aguero Torres Tevez really mashes my team up, but I really want them argh. Should i just let this gw go by and focus on the longer term and pick a even spread of money to begin with.

I'm doing it. Once I decided that I would once again go mega-cheap in defence (until my budget has swollen a bit) then the rest seemed easy.

    My team as it stands:

    Fed (Ruddy)
Turner - Fabio - Cole (Williams, Clyne)
Silva - Hazard (c) - Mata (vc) - McAnuff (Nolan)
    Pog - P.Cisse - Aguero

    Any suggestions?

P.S considering Bosingwa, Noble, Garrido and possibly Michu might wate and see with him.
