Over the last week or so the Fantasy Football Scout fold have been sharing our innermost thoughts with regards to some of the most “Burning Questions” ahead of the new campaign. To accompany our views there, here’s our annual quick-fire round of predictions, where we let you know the players each of us are tipping to shine in a new season…

As our entry from last year will show you we’re prone to making the odd mistake (or seven). Steve Kean, eh? Who would have thought he would still be in a job. Even after he got Blackburn relegated, as half of us rightly predicted.

Here follows our thoughts on the year ahead. Soak it in and then join the discussion and offer your thoughts and counter-comments down below.

Andy, that’s my good self, kicks things off for 2012/13 with what is no doubt a bit of a fancy for one player in particular. And it’s not even Gylfi Sigurdsson. This is almost partisan from our resident all-rounder.

Second out of the traps is Big Dunc. One of two Everton fans on the Scout payroll our resident toffee can’t help but get a little bit excited at the prospects of his club. Is he mad? We’ll find out by May.

Having signed mid-way through last Stilicho gets his first Scout attempt to show everyone just how prophetic he is. His opinions on Norwich pretty much separate this gent from everyone else involved so he’s either a mad heretic or the one we should all be looking to in the future.

Granville gets a weekly platform on the Scoutcast to discuss and debate with Mark on all things Fantasy Football related. In this post he has, perhaps unsurprisingly, decided to pick some answers from the red side of Manchester. What’s more surprising is that we can see some light blue too.

Also having his first dabble at infamy is Jonty. With no Premier League allegiances for this Brighton fan, his picks can come untainted by any frivolous behaviour. He wisely agreed with me about a certain West Brom player.

Anorak may be our resident specialist when it comes to the men in black but he also likes to think he can be a dab hand at Fantasy football too. As far as top goalscorer predictions, he marks himself out as the black sheep of the Scout fraternity by being the only one not to tow the party line.

Having churned out more top quality articles than Anchor have butter, Paul is well versed on all things Premier League and as such we expect him to score 100% when we mark his results in May. Even if one of his answers is Emmerson Boyce, who are we to second guess?

Mark The guv’nor brings up the rear and clearly has a problem with Swansea’s prospects, whilst talking up that Southampton mob. Mark backed Grant Holt last season and, similarly, he’s going with Rickie Lambert to turn up with a similar goal spree. Oh, and he still fancies Leighton Baines. Must be the haircut or the record collection.

After doubts created by Marton O'Neil on the gk position, he forced my hand to the goal keeping combo of Vorm+Federici. Not really cheap, and doubt Vorm will ever hit the heights again, but the fixtures do offer them a great chance to do so.

Of course, for this I had to make a small sacrifice as I did Terry to Ivanovic (Surely he won't get a 2nd red card in successive weeks?).

Unfortunately I am serious and I feel it would be wrong of me to lose any of the defence since they've been there from Day 1. I do actually have 2.0 in the bank to upgrade the mid a bit

Smalling out for 2 months, Jones for a single month -> Rafael is nailed on for a month

RVP will play as the striker up front, according to SAF that is clearly his best position

If Sahin is coming in they'll be sublime. I actually think Arteta can drop deeper like Barca does with Busquets. If Wenger wants a direct replacement M'Vila and Biglia aren't bad options either. This isn't the worst situation if they're willing to spend a bit.

I don't know what the rules and prices are like for the Telegraph game, but you could always just concentrate on FPL, then just pretty much use the same team for the Telegraph game.

        Fabio, Tomkins, Clark?

Starts look good for him, but it will be a slight gamble. Lichaj can play left back with Lowton taking Lichaj's spot on the right.

Only 4 mill though so not the biggest gamble in the world I suppose. But I wouldn't expect many attacking returns from him.

Ok so I've done some juggling to get Rafa in but which team is better?

    TEAM A (with DDG)

    GK: DDG - Federici

    D: Zabaleta - Ivanovic - Hangeland - Fabio - Clyne

    M: Mata - VDV - Nasri - Noble - Michu

    F: Torres - Tevez - Petric

    TEAM B (With Rafa)

GK: Friedel - Schwarzer (bit expensive but rotate very well and solid options)

    D: Zabeleta - Ivanovic - Rafa - Fabio - Clyne

    M: Mata - VDV - Nasri - Noble - Taraabt

    F: Torres - Tevez - Graham

    In summary;

    1) DDG + Federici + Hangeland + Michu + Petric

    or

    2) Friedel + Schwarzer + Rafa + Taraabt + Graham

Go with the A team. DDG will start 90-95% of matches and you will not miss CS because of rotation. Rafael is dangerous player for being sent off (Man Utd fan here). Just think about swapping Petric --> Graham and then Michu --> somebody (maybe N'Zog / Pienaar)

Not really. Lindegaard is a good keeper, but De Gea is no1. He's young, they spent a lot of money for him and he is progresing well. He is quite better keeper than last year. He needs games and SaF knows that. Lindy is back up if DDG gets injured and will start games in the Cup. That is what i think 🙂

Not sure, Clark will be a doubt when Dunne comes back, so I'd be wary of that.... Definitely him if its a short term option though....

He scores goals from set-pieces for fun. The ball comes to him from nowhere.

          Agree about Dunne though.

The Guardian team sheets have Valencia benched for Young, and Cazorla starting. Today I took Cazorla out for Valencia, because of the danger of Cazorla being unfit and assuming Valencia would start.

    So...what do you guys think?
