As we count down the days to Saturday’s Premier League kick-off, the Carlos Tevez – Sergio Aguero conundrum has become a major issue for Fantasy managers after the former’s scintillating strike and strong display against Chelsea in Sunday’s Community Shield.

Having looked at the City midfield area in Monday evening’s Technical Area piece, we now turn our attentions to the Argentine duo’s performance against the Blues but first of all, we use the Members Area Comparison Tool to gauge their respective displays over the final four Gameweeks of 2011/12 to look for the similarities within Roberto Mancini’s new formation:

      The more I think about it the more Kompany + 0.5 seems a better move than Barry.

      Apparently it's not that simple bla,bla,bla....

      Seems simple enough to me. Pretty much guaranteed 6 from Kompany and he's a menace at set piece time.

      yaya will play deep all season no matter what so my advise is to not go near him at 8.0 - at 6.0 he was ok...

        That isn’t really true

        He can play deep in some games – in others he is one of cities most forward midfielders and can be devastating – the problem is you’re never really sure when he will do so. At 8 he isn’t bad for a mid price who will get a decent number of points an is virtually guaranteed to start every game, he just isn’t FPL captain material

    So, I have played around with my team and this is what I ended up with:

    DDG Federici
    McCartney Cuellar Hangeland A.Cole Lescott
    Bale Noble Lampard Y.Toure Guthrie
    Torres Tevez Graham

    2.0 in the bank for the obvious transfer (Torres to Rooney)

    What do you think? I am unsure about Hangeland, Noble, Lampard and Yaya

    I could downgrade Hangeland to a 4.0 or 4.5 and upgrade Lampard to Mata/Hazard. Also are there better options than Yaya at 8.0 or bellow?

      Who knows? But going from what they did last year i reckon he's the safest Chelsea mid. I have him. He'll play more than 60 in one and 20-30 in the other worst. At least you still get two games out him though.

        back to the drawing board then! always think midfield is a funny one,unless you have a high scoring midfielder the points value on mf is not always so high. 2 pen takers in midfield,but will have another look later.
        think suarez' value could go up and up,only downside is i think he'll play wide right in rodgers new system.

    If I have DDG, do you think it is better to:

    a) Choose a 4.0m gk and save money, just playing DDG every week. (Henderson)

    b) Choose a 4.5m gk who plays at home the same weeks as DDG (to cover the 'easy' games Lindy could come in for) (Ruddy)

    c) Choose a 4.5m gk who plays at home when DDG plays away so I have the option of leaving DDG out of tough away games? (Jaaskelainen)

      I would save it this week - neither move looks to improve your outlook in GW 1, and other things could need doing in GW 2.
