Batten down the hatches, Granville’s wildcard is active. Having suffered an abominable Gameweek 2 mauling, the Mancunian has shuffled, tail between legs, back to the drawing board. The excuses and justification are spread thickly throughout and Granville even calms his jerky knee long enough to strike back at my decision to transfer in Eden Hazard: the cheek of the man.

The usual regulars are, of course, scattered about this nonsense, including a record breaking “All Aboard” the weekend preview and the recent failings of the ScoutCast XI.

Grab your protective suit and listen in via this link, or use the handy player below to stream in your browsers.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Liverpool turn down the Dempsey move (involved Henderson). Most likely going to Sunderland now. Liverpool now going after Sturridge.

Seems like an odd transfer for all involved, Chelsea must be signing another striker or 2. Not sure how DS will fit into Rogers system, not exactly the team player is he.

Dempsey is going to come out of this looking like a chump, which is such a shame. He could have had a statue next to MJ at Craven Cottage if his agent had simply faced the music and told him "Liverpool is a bust, go to preseason with Fulham."

I guess Dempsey gambled that Liverpool would bite, and Jol gambled that he could do the business on the pitch without his "disloyal" star... I think Jol may win that gamble, ultimately.

All speculation because we have only heard Jol. Dempsey's shown his class by declining to get in a pissing match. We all know only what has come out of Jol's mouth and 2 Dempsey tweets.

    Which to play?
    A. Clyne vs. Man U home
    B. Tierney vs. Tottenham away (was benched for Garrido last week)

Usually go with the home team if I’m debating, but not sure about this one…

    Cheers guys

Bargain when he starts playing again, not bitten the Hazard bullet, waiting to see how Mata plays when he is less tired. Could see him getting close in score to Hazard purely based on his ability to grind out solid points vs good teams.

    Alreet lads

I think west ham have helped us dodge a bullet. If nobody else had gone in for him with a decent offer he would have probably come to us. If he had then we would have had major problems incorporating him into the team. We would have had to majorly change our style, which would have pissed off our ball players (HBA, cabeye, etc), and without champions league footy, it would be next to impossible to keep 3 top strikers happy. The only reason we were in for him, is that Ashley loves a bargain!!

Having said that, Carroll is perfect for Fat Sam. Especially now they have jarvis. They are going to cause a lot of problems for a lot of teams. I'm happy for big andy, and it is good for england, but now i am not confident of getting anything from west ham this season. Carroll is bound to score!!

I think that the only reason he played the full 90 mins was that we had injuries in other positions so had no subs left. I would still think that he will play on sunday, because marveaux played 90 mins as well. I think that we might stick with 4-4-2 this weekend, as tiote is still out, and we are only playing villa. But 4-3-3 should definitely be our main formation this year.

Would appreciate your wise words on the WC team:

    Foster | Begovic
    Rangel | Saylor | Cuellar | Demel | Clyne
    Hazard | Johnson | Jarvis | Michu | Bale
    RVP | Lukaku | Tevez

    0.4 in the bank.

Worry about ur lack of a 'big hitter' on defence.

How the hell do you only have .4 in the bank??? You have a 6.5m forward, 3 mids under 7.2m and all your keeps and defsf are under 5m.

Lukaku could be massive for you.

Not keen on Johnson or Jarvis for long run as a pairing, but they probably rotate excellently.

Figueroa at 4.5m if you need another 1m to upgrade a weak link elsewhere.

Or Rangel at 5, Gallas at 5, Ridgewell at 5.

So apparently Liverpool are after Sturridge, which i see as a good move, but if they are after a winger, why dont they go for Afellay? Barca are looking at getting rid of him,and i think he is all class. Thoughts?

I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool sign Affellay.

Nice one i've made plans for tomorrow so I don't have to sit in front of the tv watching that insufferable arsehole Jim White shout into his microphone and all the reporters camped outside stadia with nothing remotely interesting to say.

    Question for you all.

Is keeping one 4.5 keeper for a good fixture run and just transferring him out when fixtures get bad feasible? At the end of the day Keepers are not that valuable in terms of points unless you have some one like Hart, Vorm, or DDG

Don't think so... GK points might be the key when you find yourself a bit short of the weekly target!
