Batten down the hatches, Granville’s wildcard is active. Having suffered an abominable Gameweek 2 mauling, the Mancunian has shuffled, tail between legs, back to the drawing board. The excuses and justification are spread thickly throughout and Granville even calms his jerky knee long enough to strike back at my decision to transfer in Eden Hazard: the cheek of the man.

The usual regulars are, of course, scattered about this nonsense, including a record breaking “All Aboard” the weekend preview and the recent failings of the ScoutCast XI.

Grab your protective suit and listen in via this link, or use the handy player below to stream in your browsers.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

According to BBC Kaboul is out to Xmas.

Surely Gallas is now a bargain, or does he share gametime with Caulker (who is better imo)

I would say so yes.. Richardson could play LW, but most of all.. Petric in the hole with Berbs up front could mean Ruiz to the left.. tho I think Ruiz would prefer the RW, but Ruiz AND Kaca could be too much for them imo...
Its sad tho, Kaca have been doing good (sometimes great)

yes happens every season. i normally get 105-6 mln by xmas, and then start cashing in on players, destroying team value. Team value goes to about 104 then ends up at 106-7 by the end of the season.

To be fair that front 8 is the same as mine (though I have Bale over Pienaar). I would still look to downgrade one of those midfielders and keeping a little cash in the bank isn't the worst thing. Don't get Al Habsi if you have Boyce. I'm not certain of the rotation but Foster and Mignolet are the best at that price.

By experience I know for a fact that the captain choice(s) is by far the most important thing in FPL.. With RvP u always have a player that are likely to score atleast one goal..
The way I look at it, if Torres is having o good game he might score one goal.. if Van Persie is having a bad game he might score one goal...
Im not against a good balanced team, ofc not.. just that I know that u can still have a good team even with RvP in it.. All the great 6-7m options up front (3rd striker) and in the middle just makes it soo worth it, IMO

This is very true (speaking as a non-RaP owner). Personally his fixtures, price & (albeit-lessened) rotation threat puts me off spending the big bucks on him. Though a too striker on fire is a must have player. For me I am happy with Adebayor/Tevez (with Torres as a player I want) and wait and see. But your argument is completely valid (and true).

Mark my words, Torres will be one among the top 3 goal scorers of this season and if RVP and Rooney split Man United goals among them, he might even be the top goal scorer based on his form at the moment...

He is psychologically out of Drogba's shadow, has developed a good partnership with Hazard and is enjoying himself at the moment. Chelsea will continue to play 4-2-3-1 and as lone striker he will get plenty of opportunities to score more and he will convert those opportunities...

Just a quick question guys - Baines/Foster or Zab/Friedel in the short run?

you wildcarding next week or something? IF not than Baines7Foster hands down as Friedel and Zab both have some rotation threat hanging over them.

    Hey DZ's

Posted this last night, any thoughts....

So, Hazard has earned twice as many penalties as anŷ other player in Europe over the last 2 seasons. (could be good news for Lampard owners, if he’s on the god damn pitch !)

I beleive 3 in 3 games for Chelsea so far.

So out of his 6 assists how many we’re ‘proper’ assists do we think?

I mean, the Torres goal on the weekend… That was a Torres supeb finish. It wasnt put on a plate for him by Eden despite a show boat back heel.

    Any thoughts?

None of them have been great.

      1. Penalty
      2. Ivanovic goal - don't remember the assist
      3. Penalty
      4. Back heel to Torres
      5. 5 yard pass to Cahill
      6. Cut back for Ivanovic on the counter.

But he does look good when on the ball - a constant threat. If any Chelsea mid, I'd have him.

          Hey Nitin

The 2nd was decent lay off, and maybe 5.

Interesting point on his number of pens over previous seasons, Lampard owners (me) couch profit ?

Ps... Lamps due to drop tonight 🙁

Yeah. Looks like he could earn a lot of penalties. But I don't see Lampard scoring much from open play. And he can't surely convert every single penalty. If he scores, well and good. If he misses, negative points. For that extra £1m, it's better to have the threat of Hazard, imo.

I agree.. hes not THAT good.. but for every game he have played, he have improved imo..
and Nitin 2. Great pass, but from the midcircle in a counterattack.. remember?
Im not convinced, great player but.. geesh, I dont know

I really think the pens earned have been down to him being a new player in the league and most of the defenders still not used to him. I forgot the link in the previous post 🙂

I am more concerned about my lack of RVP currently than Hazard.

I personally am also, but Kags and Hazard will be seasons keepers for me. RVP would not, he just will not be worth the price. I said the same thing about Baines last year- it is just not possible to repeat such record years back to back. Waiting for Roon and Aguero to get back to be my big hitters.

          Great reading, love the stats!
The only sad thing is, if you are right and players like me havent had him from the start, all u can expect now is 12 goals and 17 assists, which ofc is still good..
Imo he have improved in every game he have played, so.. maybe I "must" have him..

Well the final decision was just an educated guess based on his stats so far-that is why I wrote down my thought process to make it understandable. I actually think that chelsea will struggle against big teams and that could hinder Hazards must own status a bit. He will be kind of easy fixture monster and a decent captain option in them, but he needs Lamps out(for the pens) to really be a beast that would make him a 15-20 goal 15 assist player

Hazard has not been a Messi type player yet, but he has shown plenty of promise... In the 3 Chelsea games so far, defenders have had a bit of problem... Most of the time he was fouled and he did make some good runs...

Also he has made the team around him play better... Main thing is he has gotten Torres scoring again when none of the others at Chelsea could in the past 18 months...

I think Torres scoring again is purely down to playing time, he had tons of chances in the first game but failed to put them in the back of the net and got 1 lucky offside tap in. Second game toe poke could have gone anywhere, I think it is way too early to decide on Torres.

Sure some of them haven't been flashy assists, but the main thing is, he is involved in that finishing product and has a ruthlessness to him.

          It's not funny isist?

But look at my mf... Kags, lamps, Michu, bale, kacan.

And can afford forward line of Petric, Torres, tevez. With 1.8m in bank.

Kinda happy, but worried by two names I don't have...

Hey guys need some opinions here with my WC team:

    Foster Begovic
    Saylor Baines Hughes Williams/Rangel Demel
    Hazard Pienaar Kagawa Michu Kaca
    Tevez RVP Graham

Have 1.5 in the bank with that team,, should I keep that 1.5 or use it to upgrade??? and where should I do that??

@mazzarscar...the wholy trinity, see.. still a well balanced team, WITH RvP
and Panpan, I think in the long run Guthrie is a better option than Kaca
      also consider Graham - ? (Ba/Berba/Petric/Lambert/??)

Fair enough, go for Graham a couple of gws and see what happens..
Cuellar is a great option, sunderland looks solid..
Kaca will be in huge rotation risk, u will only play the 5th midfielder a couple of games so u really dont want to be forced to make a "stupid" transfer just to get Kaca out...

I think its the best u can do in the long run, but since u already have Hazard on the bench this gw u will have to play 4-3-3, happy with that?

I'm in the same situation and I can understand how it would make the decision easier on who to transfer out, but for me, if Bale does well this week I'm keeping him. Plus Kagawa has Wigan at home, no chance in hell am I getting rid of him before that.
