I find it funny how a team who loses to Swansea at home and draws with Sunderland can buy a player for £60m!

One world. Manchester United. We are one of the most prestige clubs in the world. We have one of the largest fan base. We fall. We will rise again and di maria knows it

Even as a small boy Di Maria must have always dreamt of playing alongside players like Cleverly, Fellani, Smalling, Young, Jones, Blackett, and Fletcher. Its just a realization of that dream Sarjent

Dzeko with a minor injury, should I get Jovetic? Got 10.4m to spend.

I don't think it's much of an injury at all... he'll be fine...

Saying that, Jovetic looks great... considering the switch myself...

The only thing that is stopping me is that it looks too sideways and too short term...

      1. 7alwachi
        12 years, 2 months ago

Cheers! Dzeko does look better in the long run but we'll be pulling our hair out if Jovetic scores 3 against Stoke and we don't have him.

Is there a keeper at 5.0 who's better than having the Mannone Krul rotation?

      Krulliot is where it's at...

    2. Poseidon. Not arrogant, jus…

      I'd rather have Krul Elliot

      Forster, given Southampton's upcoming fixtures

    4. Sadio

Just go Krul/Elliot for .5 cheaper, you'll be happy you did.

    5. UnderstandablyDistraught
      12 years, 2 months ago

I have Krul + Mannone and wouldn't waste a xfer shifting either one. Decent combo

      1. mgilbert86
        12 years, 2 months ago

not sure why i asked, elliot will never play and krul will have bad fixtures

mannone has home and away rotation with krul

on top of the begovic/stoke is poor and clyne is a far better southampton pick

        1. The Sarjeant
          12 years, 2 months ago

Yeah, your right Elliot won't play, unless Krul's injured, that's why you have him.

          Keeper rotation is crap.

        2. The Sarjeant
          12 years, 2 months ago

And even if those two have home and away rotation, the fixtures are crap.

          1. mgilbert86
            12 years, 2 months ago

mannone could easily get 7 this week even though he is away

            1. The Sarjeant
              12 years, 2 months ago

That's one fixture your looking at, plus why wouldn't you play Krul this week?

                12 years, 2 months ago

i like coloccini better because of bonus points

                  12 years, 2 months ago

This I agree with. But if you think Coloccini can keep a clean sheet, why not just play Krul as well?

  4. Najoman86

Caulker, S. Davis, Diouf > Dummett, Albrighton, Jovetic worth -4pts?

    1. Zep

      No...

      1. Najoman86
        12 years, 2 months ago

        Cheers Zep, I figured so.
A little stuck at the moment though - 2FTs and having worn a couple of price drops, a little stuck at the moment. GW3 looks as follows
        Krul
        Terry Debuchy Clyne Caulker
        A. Young Mata Sterling Ramsey
        Rooney Costa
        Begovic Wisdom S.Davis Diouf

Alternate option I have is S. Davis & Diouf > Sigurdsson & Naismith

        1. Zep

              Thanks Zep.
I figured I could probably afford to keep Young another GW - see if he can't pinch a point away to Burnley - I've kept him this long? Or are you of the opinion that he's that useless?

              1. kiwi_pool
                12 years, 2 months ago

  5. 7alwachi

Usually not one for these comparisons but Sánchez and Di Maria are similar in quality and United are paying £40m more than what Arsenal paid. Ridiculous. Never scored more than 7 league goals in his career and he was available for less than £30m last season.

    1. Polaris - The Mortal Coil

We also had David Moyes in charge last season.

    2. theloveburglar

      whats your problem?

the money isnt coming out of ur pocket?

or is it more the fact that u foolishly thought like everyone else that united without european football wouldnt be able to attract the biggest names and pay the biggest fees?

      1. 7alwachi
        12 years, 2 months ago

This 'money coming out of your pocket' thing is BS when United fans always criticize Liverpool and City for their spending.

        1. theloveburglar
          12 years, 2 months ago

we were not taken over by some sheikh billionaire and pumped full of cash we earned our money through developing our own players and huge success from doing so.. that would be my only issue there but no real problem with city they can spend what they like thats the way it is..

we are spending big because we need too its simple as that big money needs to be pumped into certain areas of the squad

we dont settle for mediocrity and years of fighting for scraps we are adressing what needs to be addressed

          we arent arsenal

          1. 7alwachi
            12 years, 2 months ago

Laughable. Arsenal had a project and sacrificed short-term success in order for it to work. Manchester United have no vision.

    3. Frank Black
      12 years, 2 months ago

They're not paying £40m more than what Arsenal paid for Sanchez and while not a great goal scorer Di Maria is still one of the best wingers in the world. Great player and great assistman.

      1. 7alwachi
        12 years, 2 months ago

I agree he's one of the best but you'd expect high goalscoring returns from an attacking midfielder that costs that much. The Sanchez deal was £35m with around £25m up front and the rest in future bonuses. Di Maria is just over £60m rising to £75m.

    4. lilmessipran
      12 years, 2 months ago

not really very different kind of players alexis doesn't have the penetration that di maria has .Is a better finisher no doubt but can't open up defenses like adm.Considering this plus that utd need good players desperately before the window ends the deal looks good.

        Yah, team for reference:

        Bego / Krul

        Debuchy / Lovren / Caulker / Chester / Wisdom

        Hazard / Mata / Ramsey / Siggy / Mutch

        Rooney / Costa / Bojan

Sitting on 2 FT. Just want to get Bojan out. Options are: Naismith, Jelavic, Berahino, or something more drastic like the above, or dropping Rooney for Adebayor and Bojan for Jovetic.

        1. Joggers Nipple
          12 years, 2 months ago

Bego to Elliot seems sensible. Gives you funds for a Bojan to Jelavic type move?

    For next week...

    A) Jones + Diego Costa -----> Yoshida + Sturridge

Help much appreciated, thanks in advance!!

oh and this is all for 2 FTs... planning to save one this GW

    2. The Sarjeant

I'd keep Costa and I wouldn't be bringing Sturridge in. He hasn't been impressive at all.

      1. harrysponge
        12 years, 2 months ago

True... but I have no liverpool coverage 🙁

        I have in midfield:

        Mata Hazard Ramsey Siggy Lamela..

        maybe Lamela for Sterling? D:

        1. The Sarjeant
          12 years, 2 months ago

Yes, Lamela > Sterling looks great. Sterling and Sturridge are basically playing in the same positions at time. Sturridge likes to drift out wide, and when he does, Sterling makes runs into the middle. The price difference between the two is big enough to go Sterling over Sturridge. The only problem is, is that Sturridge is arguably the better player, and if he finds some form over the next few weeks, then he might actually be the one to go for with Liverpool's good fixtures.

Although all this might change with Balotelli signing and all their other players regaining fitness.

    3. Zasa
      12 years, 2 months ago

No to Yoshida,Studge & Aguero (for the time being)

Jones ----> Colo could work since he's nailed long term.

Dummet also could work for the 0.5 you save, but it would be a more short term move, if & when he's subbed in the coming weeks

  17. Zasa

Quick Q guys, how's my back line looking?

    Debuchy(lei)A] - Caulker(sun)H] - Clyne(WHU)A] - Pva(QPR)A] - ?Naughton?(LIV)H]

Not the best rotations atm, hoping to change that up a bit come international break.

    3. Zasa
      12 years, 2 months ago

Dzeko to Jove doesn't sound too fruitful right now. Also not injured, could very well play next week.
Back line could do some tweaking some Newcastle coverage IMO

      Save one FT though

      1. BayerNevaLusen
        12 years, 2 months ago

But you would surely think Jovetic will start next week after his performance against Liverpool. Aguero is likely going to start next GW. So where does that leave Dzeko? The fact that he is not in form and is SLIGHTLY injured suggests that he is going to be coming of the bench.

        1. Zasa
          12 years, 2 months ago

Jovetic will start, Dzeko injury wasn't too serious & Aguero still isn't 90 min match fit.
Dzeko will at minimum get you a good 60 minutes against an uncoordinated Stoke defense.

Fletcher I would keep for GW3 for his good run of fixtures.

Save it for next week mate, then upgrade either Dzeko or Fletcher according to any imminent threat or poor form

    Krul
    Terry | Clyne | Caulker
    Fabregas | Ramsey | Sterling | Eriksen | Sigurdsson
    Rooney | Costa

    Elliot | Ward | Moore | Wood

How many transfers have you got? Just the one I take it. Everything seems fine to me. You have quite a lot of targets that I'd like to own.

Down the line though, I'd look at swapping out Ward, but no rush.

Unless a decent manager takes over at Palace.

      The chopping block:

      1) Ward
      2) Caulker
      3) Eriksen (if he blanks again)

Eriksen's got some decent stats though, I've got an eye on him.

Although, I have to admit, I haven't actually seen him play this season.

Eriksen and Lamela both looked threatening against QPR, although I have to admit Lamela looks the better prospect at the moment. If only Eriksen's FK didn't hit the bar.

This. Although I'd put Caulker at #1.

If you don't axe Ward this week, you'd keep him for the home game against Burnley, no?

Yea, that's the trouble. His fixtures are great, but it appears that Palace are not.

That's my thinking too. I thought Palace might keep a CS against WHU and boy was I wrong.

I'm interested to know too. Bego to Krul/Forster seem like a good option. My other keep is Gilks, so not really looking at rotating for now.

Can't see past Forster. Saints look solid. Not so sure about the Toon.

That awesome feeling feeling when your pre season hunch comes good. 😀

Felt even better as most shifted him out to avoid a price drop. 😀

    Jovetic is a legend.

    Hi,

    My team:

    DDG
    Debuchy Wisdom Caulker
    Ramsey Siggy Mata Eriksen Fabregas
    Rooney Cost

    Sub: Bojan Moore Chester Gilks.
1 FT. In the Bank 0

Any comment on this team? I am thinking to drop Moore to Dummet

    1. Defochibe

      or maybe save transfer..

Anyone got some insight on why Ben Davies is not playing? I mean, Spurs bought Davies and Vorm when they needed a great CB and a great forward. Vorm could the main GK in a lot of teams and Ben Davies is much better than Rose. I really don't understand...

So who loses his place to Aguero? Dzeko or Jovetic?

    Hi all,
    Did really well this GW.
    Need to keep it going.

    2 Ft's

    De Gea, Gilks
    Clyne, Cahill, Naylor, Wisdom, Pieters
    Lamela, Mata, Ramsey, Sigurdsson, Marney
    Jovetic, Rooney, Costa

Is it worth bringing in Krul for DDG and possibly Ivanovich for Cahill?

    Thanks

    1. The Sarjeant
      12 years, 2 months ago

If that was my team, I'd do De Gea > Krul and just save your other one.

      1. BayerNevaLusen
        12 years, 2 months ago

Why get rid of DDG when they have 3 games against 3 promoted teams coming up??

        1. Sz21
          12 years, 2 months ago

A lot of people suggesting to with Krul..

There were a lot of people suggesting to get rid of Jovetic, Lamela and Mata too tho!
I expect DDG to come good and yeah great fixtures..

Just it would free up some cash to change him and I have 2 ft's.

          What do ye think?

  28. BayerNevaLusen
    12 years, 2 months ago

Time to get rid of Dzeko? Surely he won't start with Jovetic inform and Aguero regaining full fitness

    1. Joggers Nipple
      12 years, 2 months ago

If fit i recon he will get the start vs Stoke a t home, just gives Aguero a bit more time to rest up. Aguero for another 30 min cameo.

      1. BayerNevaLusen
        12 years, 2 months ago

But surely not worth the risk to play him? He didn't look to great today compared to Jovetic. Im thinking Dzeko--->Jovetic

  29. Rivaldo Izback

First Punt of my season.. Getting CABELLA for a Hit and (c) Him? too Crazy?? Newcastle has to score at some point no? He's involved in every attacking move of the team + on pens..

    Ok, one more time...

I know a hit for a GK is generally frowned upon. But with Begovic in horrible form, set to drop and staring down the barrel at City next weekend surely getting him out isn't knee jerk? They shipped goals to Aston fricking Villa and a 10 man Hull City.

    Bego>Forster seems so obvious.

      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

If even there was a week to do it, it'd be when Begovic is away to City.

I'd prefer Krul tbh, and look to bring in Clyne or Bertrand in the bear future. Although this many transfer on defensive structure isn't ideal this early.

    2. Joggers Nipple
      12 years, 2 months ago

As a bego owner i am ? this too. I am thinking to hold. Hopefully Cameron and Huth get back in following those displays and it gets more solid. Suck up the Man City and hope for the best for me.

        12 years, 2 months ago

Thing is with my uber D if I go to Forster I can look to bring in Cameron later as a cheaper way into the Stoke D. Seems sensible.

    3. Zasa

All good points really. but after that game to MCI, they have a great run of fixtures til GW10.
Bego is a quality & proven keeper, don't count him out this early, he's a long term prospect.

Also, keep in mind all those saves he'll most likely get against MCI. Stoke will park the bus.
