With cheque books fluttering on the eve of the transfer window slamming shut, our Fantasy seasons could be transformed by some notable new arrivals.     I should just ignore any potential price changes and wait until tomorrows press conferences for more info, right? Or should I just start panicking now? Cheers 🙂

      I would wait... But with Costa not 100% and playing Everton, makes it tough. Also I would go Jovetic over Dzeko!

        Yeah I prefer Jovetic myself, but I will be wanting to get rid of any City strikers for the next few games after Stoke anyway so at the minute I may not do it, if Dzeko is confirmed injured however, I may well do it! Cheers 🙂

      well there are two camps and you can go either route really...but it's a really good team...normally I try to save transfers for injuries...international break coming up, sh*t happens etc

    Anyone up for a major surgery challenge?

    I picked a tentative team in July and then was forced to start the season with it because lightning took out my internet while on holiday. It's a bad team but I am trying to make it better. I know I can WC, so the question is this: should I WC or do you see a way through this (I think I do).

    Here's the team:

    Mannone (Gilks)

    Debuchy, Dummett*, Vlaar, Terry (Pocognoli)

    Ramsey (c), Nasri, Siggurdson* (Noble, Arnautovic)

    Rooney, Aguero, Jelavic

    * means a player I brought in since the start. I have 2.5 in the bank and no FT. Am I screwed? I think I can make this work little by little, but I would welcome views on whether I should just cut and run (ie, WC).

      Team looks decent, just need to shift Arnautovic to a decent mid (Sterling, Lamela, etc.)

        Thanks Acqua. Yeah, very MIA: season started with me driving along a French motorway and my team making sense (if it ever did) only in July. I just can't believe my luck that Aguero has delivered both weeks!

      i think your team is fine...if you WC now your team will still look less than stellar 2 weeks later...I think it's best to wait a minimum of 5 weeks to WC because after the transfer window you still won't know if new players are fit or reserves or what

        Yeah, I always thought I would save that excuse until I really needed it, and then it happened! Your advice sounds dead-on. I asked the question because us FFSers are know for denial, so I wanted to make sure I was not kidding myself. I know the situation is less than ideal, but I agree that I will be better off if I just wait and see how things unfold.

      If Vlaar gets another CS you could sell for a profit during the break. Maybe PvA to rotate with Dummett.

      Nasri could yet prove to be a lovely under-the-radar gem this GW.

      Jelavic scored last GW and has decent fix. I would worry about Arnie, but...DO NOT WC 🙂

      My internet is really screwed here what I was trying to say was for Aguero. I see aguero is just above the 100% threshold on Total FPL but obviously he injures easily. Basically I don't want to make this decision tonight do you think Aguero will rise?

      I'm all about me some price rises, but at this stage of the season, isn't it frustrating that the rises come with player you will not ditch, so it does not increase your purchasing power? Obviously it's good to gain value, but early in the season there is little chance of translating it.

        Yeah with the way the prices rises seem to be this year, I'm less inclined to chase value, and certainly not for hits...

        Just frustrating when I see other people making early transfers without more news... just for the extra 0.1m...

          Thanks Zep, it's good to be back bantering. I make no claim to special wisdom, but I am really happy that I have not made a lot of moves: my crap starting team has not required hits mostly because there have been very few obvious value necessities. Not sure what I would have done if there had been obvious value targets every day. As it is, I have been able to wait and see without being punished. I might catch up with y'all with luck!
