Our next members article assessing the previous season takes a look at Sunderland’s campaign, with most of the focus on the impact of new manager, Dick Advocaat.

Following a 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa in March, the Dutchman replaced Gus Poyet at the helm, with his side sitting 17th in the league, just a single point clear of the relegation places. Advocaat guided the Black Cats to a 16th-place finish, after picking up three wins and three draws from their final nine matches, with their survival clinched in Gameweek 37 after a goalless draw at the Emirates. After initially turning down an offer to stay on at the Stadium of Light, the Dutchman signed a one-year deal to remain in the North East.

I think so, only for the sense of spreading your cover. Sterling is a semi-punt as he might take time to settle (preseason means little).

There are better players for 5.5 or less than Cresswell and Clyne (Williams, Cedric, Mertesacker)

Hazard over Fabregas is a no brainer IMO.

      A) - Good player, but his fixtures aren't warranting of his price tag, personally.

      B) - Not a bad option.

      C) - Good alternative for Hazard.

      D) - A decent punt.

      E) - Can you afford? 😉

      F) - Personally I prefer a bigger goal threat that saving a mil. But that's just me, you can always downgrade him if you need the money. :]

It's a funny one. Most of us will be waiting to see if Walcott starts. Better yet he scores so we have more hopes he continues starting.

But then he scores and suddenly everyone wants him.

      What's the ideal situation?

Thinking of doing a draft league this year with my friends and would need some advice regarding the rules.

How have you managed transfers, ie how many transfers are allowed, who chooses first etc?

        Apologies for the newbie'ism'
We are playing on the sky sports version of fantasy football in work so have 75 mil to play with
My thoughts are that midfield and strikers are worth the extra mahonies that defence or keeper
That being said I didn't realise forster was injured
What are your thoughts on the first team I had and what team are you opting for?

Aguero not playing in 1st week.

I've got this for the GW 1, then sell Giroud in GW 2 for Sakho, then bring in Aguero for Rooney gw4...Thoughts?

    Theo, Haz, Ritchie, Depay,
    Rooney, Tekkers, Giroud

the midfield should be much heavier. Only Caz is ok for me. Hendo should be like 4th mid, Depay big risk. New guys are always big IF.

I'm on a hunt for the best 4.5 midfielder (that is NOT Victor Wanyama). I've narrowed it down to

    A. Fletcher
    B. Mulumbu (The Canaries kit adds an extra splash of life to the dull red that my whole team almost is)
    C. Bentaleb
    D. Anya (Probably not even close to being nailed on anymore with all the new signings)

    Pick one please!

If I were to choose based on previous career and class then Fletcher, but I believe this season out of those that you have mentioned, Bentaleb will be the one. I picked him for my 4.5 mid slot.

I have 3 very interesting questions.

1 Hendo or Milner & why? seems to be very split on here with these 2 and I just can't decide.
2 Hart & Azpilcueta or Courtois & Kompany?
3 How much % is Moreno nailed?

      DAT DEFENCE?? (and keepers)

One of your forwards has to go. I'd actually be inclined to lose Costa.

      8.5 keepers go Kasper/Schwarzer or Ruddy/Rudd.

max 1 4.0 defender as none actually play.

I'm on a Jenkinson, PVA (O'Shea also works), Francis triple rotation and it works quite nicely with Targett as non-playing 4.0.

Marco Reus is apparently “flattered” by all the interest in him this summer, but does not sound like he will be leaving Borussia Dortmund.

The German international has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool among other top European teams.

However, his agency Sports Total told tuttojuve.com: "We read the rumours that are circulating about an alleged transfer for Marco.

"We can say with certainty that the player is having a wonderful time at Dortmund. He is flattered by the interest of many European teams but he's recently decided to stay in Dortmund."
