Today’s Wembley showpiece between Chelsea and Arsenal affords Fantasy managers further opportunity to scout our options for the upcoming campaign, with the Premier League kick off now just six days away.

For the Blues, Diego Costa is sidelined due to “discomfort in his hamstring” once again. Loic Remy is handed the chance to lead the line in the Spain international’s absence, with loan signing Radamel Falcao on the bench. William and Ramires join Eden Hazard in the attacking midfield three behind Remy, with Jose Mourinho naming last season’s defensive regulars along with Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic in the double-pivot.

Theo Walcott gets the chance to lead the line for Arsenal, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain selected in the XI as Olivier Giroud is named amongst the subs. Arsene Wenger’s side are as expected, otherwise, with Hector Bellerin selected ahead of Mathieu Debuchy at right-back, whilst Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey join Oxlade-Chamberlain in the positions behind Walcott. Jack Wilshere misses out through injury for the Gunners.

    Didn't Arsenal beat Man City 3-0 in last season's Community Shield? It's so often a red herring, 6 days before the FF deadline!

    I know friendlies are all we have to go on until Saturday, but they should be treated with a little caution too!

    Re today's match, Cazorla is my (slightly boring) Arsenal midfield pick at the mo because he seems a safe selection, having played more games last year than anybody else in their midfield. A bad miss today it's true but I was heartened to see him get the chance. Their midfield is a minefield, and it would seem the Ox, Walcott, maybe even Ramsey, will get rotated across the campaign.

    Rather Hazard missed a chance or two today than next week. Ditto Chelsea not keeping a clean sheet.

    Re defence, I'm currently on Cech-Azi. I know Courtois-Bellerin/Merte etc is 0.5 cheaper, but I really worry that for a match against one of the bottom teams, Jose might give Bogovic a match or two. I know cheap keepers are the rage, and probably sensible, but I feel Cech will have a stormer of a season and be worth it. He'll get save points too, I'm sure and maybe the occasional pen save.

      "cheap keepers are the rage, and probably sensible"...£1.0m is probably worth 20-25 points through the season...it's the cheap guy who'll get the save points and maybe bonus too this season...will your expensive keeper really gain you that much over somebody cheap?...past experience says most likely no

      I've seen plenty of teams with that strong front 3 and they've looked a bit weak elsewhere but seeing as you dont have Hazard it looks well balanced. Richards and Villa defence is a no go zone for me.

      He's terrible defensively. Rodgers isn't afraid to play youngsters ahead of established players, Wisdom and Flanagan both had shots at full back. Gomez might be a steal at 4.5m

        And come on, Chelsea posed no threat in the whole match, and before Arsenal scored, Chelsea hardly even approached Arsenal's net. Had Arsenal not scored an early goal. Verdict: Mou was always going to park the bus as long as he is not losing.
