Today’s Wembley showpiece between Chelsea and Arsenal affords Fantasy managers further opportunity to scout our options for the upcoming campaign, with the Premier League kick off now just six days away.

For the Blues, Diego Costa is sidelined due to “discomfort in his hamstring” once again. Loic Remy is handed the chance to lead the line in the Spain international’s absence, with loan signing Radamel Falcao on the bench. William and Ramires join Eden Hazard in the attacking midfield three behind Remy, with Jose Mourinho naming last season’s defensive regulars along with Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic in the double-pivot.

Theo Walcott gets the chance to lead the line for Arsenal, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain selected in the XI as Olivier Giroud is named amongst the subs. Arsene Wenger’s side are as expected, otherwise, with Hector Bellerin selected ahead of Mathieu Debuchy at right-back, whilst Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey join Oxlade-Chamberlain in the positions behind Walcott. Jack Wilshere misses out through injury for the Gunners.

        Walcott's uncertainty. Should I go for Caz/Ox/Özil/Rambo?
Tekkers suddenly scoring. Decided to skip him. Might have to reconsider.
        Bellerin really nailed?

All will play. Will they play enough and well enough to justify having them instead of some other players is the basic FPL question that we're pondering here.

Good questions. Struggling with some of the same. My answers:

          1. Dunno. Maybe Öz? If Wenger signs Benzema, this issue is solved for me.
          2. Attacking options being a bit scarce Tekkers sure is on my radar if he's fit to play.
          3. No.
          4. Either him or start without premium strikers. Seen the options on midfield the latter may not be a bad choice. But the return of the Kun will be just that much harder to handle. Wenger signing Benzema would solve this issue as well.

            • 11 Years
            10 years, 6 months ago

            1. I will probably drop Wally for Caz/Özil. Leaning towards Özil right now. Do you mena you will buy Benz if he comes?
            2. I planned to have Lukaku in GW1. Don't have space for both him and Tekkers though. That's why Tekkers goal worries me.
            3. My latest thought is this and then go with Tekkers, Lukaku & Sakho for GW1. Then adjust for Kun or/and Benz if he comes (and when the time is right)

At least Benzy in means that Giroud and Walcott are non-starters and there is a really top world class forward supported by Arsenal's midfield and nailed on to start. So yeah, I might start with him.

And at minimum it would mean goodbye Giroud and Walcott.

Or I dunno, really, Wally might still play on wing and with Benzema adding service to him, he might actually be an even better choice then. Still, Benzema would be a great simple choice in that attack conundrum.

Surely Messi would have been the best player for them to sign.

    A) Milner + Sakho

    or

    B) Hoolahan + Benteke

Common sense says A) but after seeing that Benteke goal..what say???

      A. The defending was awful on that Benteke goal.

Who do you think will start as a striker for arsenal? Giroud or walcott?

Giroud against teams which play deep def line & Wally against teams which play a high def line.

So hard to call. This is why an early WC is a good idea!

FWIW, I'm on Depay and Rambo right now.

Cazorla, Mata for me. Haven't seen Depay play yet so...

Ozil, Mata. Maybe Depay for Mata if LVG actually plays him in his best position.
