Our members articles analysing last season are completed today with a review of West Ham’s performances. The Hammers entered 2014/15 in reasonable health, having finished 13th in the Premier League in the previous campaign, although they only gained 40 points and did flirt with the relegation zone before finally confirming their top-flight status.

Plenty of changes were made in both playing and coaching personnel at Upton Park last summer, with forwards Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho brought in, while Teddy Sheringham joined up as an attacking coach. Cheikhou Kouyate and Aaron Cresswell were also signed, while Carl Jenkinson and Alex Song moved to the Hammers on season-long loans.

In this members article, we asses the main goal threats and creators in Sam Allardyce’s final year at the helm and also compare the team’s attacking numbers to the previous year.

    G2G?

    Schmeichel - Ruddy

    OShea - Lescott - Huth - Williams - Targett

    Hazard - Fabregas - Cazorla - Sterling - Wanyama

    Rooney - Kane - Deeney

    1. Aurora

      Not with that defence.

More points to be made from midfield IMO, they may be cheap but so long as the defender plays there is always a chance of a clean sheet.

          I totally disagree.
You must focus on points per value.
1 big hitter is a must.

    Fabianski, Schmeichel
    Clyne, O'Shea, Mert, Huth, Fonte
    Mata, Fab, Sterling, Cazorla, Ox
    Pelle, Ulloa, Wilson

    4.5 left in the bank.

Q.1 Should I bring in Cech for Fabianski, drop Ox and replace Ox with Wanyama?
    Q.2 Azpi over Fonte ?
    Q.3 Replacement for Huth?

    1. Sparrer

Downgrade Clyne to 4.5 and upgrade Ox to Hazard

You have the makings of a good defence but you need to work out what you're doing up top. Are you playing 3-5-2 or 3-4-3? Work this out first then look at the best return over the first three fixtures. Pelles a nice pick, but I'm worried by the other forwards when Ox is far from nailed

        1. #WinterIsNotComing
          11 years, 2 months ago

3-5-2 most probably and might bring in Rooney for Wilson and rotate strikers.

    2. conorbon
      11 years, 2 months ago

Downgrade ox to wanyama then invest in your strikers. No offence but that is the worst striker combo i have seen so far.

      1. #WinterIsNotComing
        11 years, 2 months ago

Worst :O Seriously? I think Southampton and Leicester have some good starting fixtures. Might bring in Rooney for Wilson though.

Probability of Benteke featuring GW1 - better than 50/50
Probability of Benteke featuring by GW2 - Very high

    Butland / Ruddy

    Azpilicueta / Mertesacker / Cedric / Francis / Prodl

    Things I'm considering:

    1) Mata or Depay
    2) Pelle or Lukaku
    3) Ozil or Cazorla

    The fixtures look good.

Not particularly..would agree if one of those 2 were Giroud (but he isn't nailed either). Points are likely to be split randomly and I'd rather gamble on 1 and get in more prominent players from the other teams (Haz / Mane / Sterling are bound to be involved in most goals - at least until Kun is back)

but u have to consider the money saved can be spent elsewhere. The difference between Kos and Ozil/Caz/Ramsey is 2.5m, thats a lot for improvements elsewhere such as the difference between a 4.5m defender and Ivan

I've been a member for all of a fortnight. Spent most of last season lurking. Can't help notice that some of the more knowledgeable folk here are suffering from RMT fatigue. This is understandable, as the pages fly by and it hampers sensible discussion.
Might there be an argument for a forum within the members area devoid of RMT? I am sure this point must have been raised previously. Apologies in advance should this prove to be the case.

Hey guys. No love for Defoe over Wilson/Deeney? Some really nice fixtures for those planning to WC GW4

Proven, why not. Neither spoeal to me but I'd go with him out of those options based on experience.

      No.
Hard enough to figure out Walcott status.
How or why anyone would think OXC is going to get a regular game is beyond me?

(But, he scored a goal, on TV, today, vs. rivals Chelsea!
Surely this means regular 1st team football, right?)

Who do you guys think the best 4.5 defender is in the game?

Huth. After him I'm struggling to see any options that I am happy with.

      A

Cech will lock a spot for Arsenal players that you might want to use in attack later on...
