The ScoutCast quintet take on established Fantasy thinking in this latest episode, as we debate the quest to smash the current template squad.

What is the template? How can we break it? Should we even bother?

The discussion that unfolds is predictably sprawling and often heated, as once again the conflicting philosophies on Fantasy management in the ScoutCast crew are laid bare.

Elsewhere we let the rest of your community questions steer the conversation, as we contemplate Sanchez at United, battle Firmino vs Aguero and even find time to check in on Stoke.

Try as we might, even we struggle to argue about Stoke.

By the way, off the air we carried on the debate and, in the end, everyone agreed that I was right and that I also had the best beard.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Team for GW 24

    De Gea
    Vert Ota Ogbona Alonso
    Sterling Arnie Salah Lindgard
    Kane Aguero(C)

    Subs: Elliot, Crouch, Obiang, Mbemba

    Anything worth transfer or save?

    Got Kun (-4) but its a hard choice between him Kane and Salah for C ? ...

    Haven't made a RMT in a very long time, actually maybe this is the first time this season, so can I get some advice please

    Lloris
    Otamendi, Christensen, Gomez
    Salah, Sterling, Son, Arnie
    Kane, Firmino, Depoitre

    Elliot; Ogbonna, RLC, Dunk
    1FT 1.5itb

    A) Depoitre -> Wilson
    B) RLC -> Shaqiri/Albrighton
    C) Lloris -> Pickford
    D) Christensen -> Jones
    E) Lloris & Christensen -> Pickford & Alonso -4
    F) Save

    Current squad:

    Ddg
    Alonso - Otamendi - mee - Kenny - ogbonna
    Sterling - Salah - arnautovic - lingard - Carroll
    Kane - Firmino - ayew

    My question is weather I should get
    1. Chamberlain for Carroll or
    2. Vvd for ogbonna / Kenny

    0 ft 3.2itb

    I will then go for either 4-4-2 with ayew, ogbonna / kenny and Carroll for bench or 3-5-2 with ayew, Kenny and ogbonna as bench.

    As Chamberlain is on his way up I consider doing this already today before he goes up, but going for vvd I will have a more nailed player (unless injured....) but I don't like to actually having 2 Swansea backups even though I got ayew in this week already..........

      I'd keep Son, but Mahrez may be worth it if you can make the move for free. He has easier fixtures than Son in the short term.

      Lanzini because:

      Maybe Christensen to someone.
      His time on the field is unpredictable.

        That's the only though on my mind. Maguire and Virgil the ones that come to mind

    Gross and hazard to Arnie and Mahrez for free
    Good idea or will hazard punish me.

      They look good moves. Chelsea just not clicking at the moment and it's always wise to follow form over fixtures.

    SOU have been pretty decent at damage limitation against top six clubs. Held City to two, held United to one in two games, held Chelsea to one, held Arsenal to one.

    Also, notably, they haven't conceded more than one in games against top six clubs at home.

      But they conceded 5 to Spurs, albeit at Wembley!

        True. But good record in home games. Admittedly haven't been tested against Spurs, Liv, or City at home...but even so, a decent bus at home.

      Makes me a little more confident about dropping Son for Mahrez. Interestingly, SOU's biggest lost at home was to Leicester, and Mahrez also scored in that game 😉

      Just convinced yourself to bring in Mahrez for Son.

      If so, they seem obsessed with getting a target man!
