The ScoutCast quintet take on established Fantasy thinking in this latest episode, as we debate the quest to smash the current template squad.

What is the template? How can we break it? Should we even bother?

The discussion that unfolds is predictably sprawling and often heated, as once again the conflicting philosophies on Fantasy management in the ScoutCast crew are laid bare.

Elsewhere we let the rest of your community questions steer the conversation, as we contemplate Sanchez at United, battle Firmino vs Aguero and even find time to check in on Stoke.

Try as we might, even we struggle to argue about Stoke.

By the way, off the air we carried on the debate and, in the end, everyone agreed that I was right and that I also had the best beard.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Alonso Otamendi Jones
    Salah Richarlison Arnautovic Lingard Sterling
    Kane Rooney

    Elliot Mee Masuaku Diouf

Thinking Rich out for Albrighton or Ox? Rooney is also an issue, but with WBA(H) it's maybe less of a priority

Can you afford Rooney to Vardy?

Vardy and Richarlison is a lot better than Rooney and Albrighton

Hmm, with the money from downgrading Richarlison to either option, I could actually upgrade Rooney to Firmino for a hit

both players on form in alternative a, and why selling Son now? RLC is a def a problem as you have no money, but those seven you can play have fine fixtures, so why bother bringing in a player you won´t use? Save instead and it gives you more flex next week when Spurs fixture tightens up and you´ll know more about the cup results affecting the gw28 is my advice

Plenty of good options in midfield in this price bracket with regular returns.
Wait and see how he fits in, where he plays and then make a decision.
Bear in mind that he couldnt break into United's starting 11 for 2 season now and they are hardly world beaters.

but they have Mourinho... Mkhi could thrive in a team that plays like Arsenal imo. rated the best player in Bundesliga two year in a row. He did brake into it but couldn´t stay for long. I would wait and see though. Arsenal is in a state of mind that for sure isn´t healthy

Van Dijk is a better option than both Christensen, Davies and Stones IMO in the 5.5 range. More goal threat, more nailed, more BPS potential and also equally good chance for CS. Fixtures are as good as it gets till the end of season with only 3 of the current top 8 to be played. I say he is a season keeper if he can steer away from injuries.

By the time GW 28 rolls around he might already got few CS, few goals and lots of BPS already and his price maybe out of ur range till then. Christensen will drop also in price.

Christensen is first choice he was recovering from illness.

Cheslea are the bert defence in the league after Kante’s return.

Liverpool are playing 3 away games in the next 4. They have the 5th worst defensive record this season away from home.

you are making a good case for him and i agree to some extent. He is better option than those you mention but is he a better option than, say Robertson? I know he is 75m buy but as we´ve seen with Klopp it doesn´t necessarily mean he is going to play every game from the get go, as Klopp himself hinted prior to the City game. Until Moreno gets back in full fitness i think Robertson could be a better pick, short term? And who knows, Robertson has played so well that he has made a case for himself now.

      Heaton is weeks away apparently.

He also doesn't automatically get his place back anyway. If players do well for Dyche they keep the shirt. Look at Bardsley keeping Lowton on the bench.

tweets says he is on track with recovery, so no need to worry just yet. from what i´ve read i will estimate at least three weeks from now, meaning in contention perhaps from around the tenth of february but most likely not before gw 28? Could be interpreting those words from Dyche but usually it takes a little while for goalies to reach full fitness.

This is exactly what I am worried about, both in an FPL context and as a Foxes fan.

    A) Morata to Firmino for free
    B) Morata & Son to Aguero & Lanzini for -4

    A or B lads? 🙂

    Bottomed before...

Morning, I’m still torn on below.

    A or B?

    DDG Speroni
    Azpi Christ Schindler Kenny Ogbonna
    Alli Son Salah Sterling RLC
    Kane Firmino DCL

    2 FT

    A) Christ & Alli > Alonso & Arnie
    B) DCL & Alli > Wilson & Mahrez

    Cheers.

DCL & RLC are stinking this team up, maybe take a hit and do 3 moves to fix it.

Yeah I do realise they need addressing.

Not convinced I should fix this with hits though as they are bench players for me anyway.

They're bench players because they're now rubbish, you can get 3 good players in 3 moves for 4pts

Yeah or fix it over a couple of weeks without hits.

I’d avoid Mahrez personally. I know everyone is going goo goo for him on here thanks to Jonty, but he could easily end up leaving the PL this month, or if he doesn’t get his move, his form could drop off a cliff.

your intentions are certainly good, but as it is pr now there seems to be little or no interest in Mahrez right now so avoiding a player just because of rumour mills is maybe not the best reason?

Arnie or Mahrez is the question for me, undecided.

my reply was for legomane´s advice, but in your case i think it´s hard to justify any of the moves, Christensen will very likely play and you already have Azpi so seems a bit pointless, and Alli has a good fixture so would wait for him also. Kenny and Ogb has decent enough fixture to play 4-4-2 this week, and in any case maybe just Ayew for DCL as you at least get a certain starter? But if you going Alonso as long term maybe it could be right to do it, the only issue here is that you trading out a defender from same team and Alli out before Saints, makes me wonder if it´s worth to hang onto it for a week and then make the move? Cahill is a doubt so i would monitor that one before deciding at least-)

so, yeah, Alli-Arnie and Alonso is what i think is best move, perhaps with Ayew for DCL in the meantime?

B would require a hit this wk - inclined to get Rahzzer, then acquired Marcos if I downgrade Kun

Have the following team. Who should I captain? Chasing my ML leader who is ahead of me by 38 points. He will definitely captain Kane

    Ederson/ Elliott
    Alonso/ VanDijk/ Jones/ Bardsley/ Mbemba
    Arnie/ Albrighton/ Salah/ Ramsey/ Lingard
    Kane/ Aguero/ Quaner

    Thanks a lot!
