The tournament is at the business end of proceedings, with time running out for teams to steal a march on their rivals. A win or loss either way could be season deciding.

Before we get onto Matchweek 16 action, let’s take a look at the developments from the last set of games.

Matchweek 15 Review

Full results can be found here.

Match week 15 revolved a top of the table clash between four leading teams. While Ibeland beat Mozampique by a comfortable 96 points, Hungary Neville and FNZ had a far tighter game, with the former winning by just six points.

This win puts Hungary Neville at the top of the table, with FNZ slipping to third. Ibeland rose to second place with their win, while a fourth consecutive loss for Mozampique saw them drop down to sixth.

Afghanistanislas rose to fourth place in some style as they put up 664 points. Reussia’s rise to fifth wasn’t that efficient though, as they only managed to beat Mbokani Faso by three points.

Blindia continued their unfortunate run with another loss, this time at the hands of Matagascar. They also managed to replace the Mata’s at the bottom of the table with that loss.

Matchweek 15 Awards

Netley Lucas(Ibeland) takes the Player of the Week award for his staggering 101 point score.

Team of the Week

Netley Lucas(Ibeland) – 101 pts

JoiceJoseph777(Cech Republic) – 96 pts

JoiceJoseph777 picks the Manager of the Week award to go with his Team of Week placed. He picked his best team, captained his second highest scorer and lead from the front as they amassed 669 points.

Lord takes the Post of the Week gong.

I would also like to know this. 3 weeks left of regular season after this week. Pretty important to know what teams need to do.

I noticed that our opponents this week, Emre Canada, do not have the correct number of points – it should be 18 instead of 16.

I also noticed that they have score more FPL points than my team – Greatbangledash. Fair enough, the luck of the draw and then I saw that there had been no draws. What are the odds? But I thought couldn’t something be done to include the way draws are an integral part of football. This could be done by classifying results within a certain boundary (i.e 10) as a draw and scoring the result as 2-1 or by giving the losing team a bonus point if they are within 20.

If the Community Watch continues next year would the powers that be consider the introduction of a VAR (Variable Adding-up Rules) system?

    @Jarvish

Seems my e-mail provider have gone on some sort of strike.
Managed to log in and see that you wanted our teams early, hit answer and down it went......

So if you don't get an e-mail from me in the middle of the night you will find my team here, under this post.
Looks like I'm either saving ft or doing Roo to Wilson. Gonna cap Kun for sure.

With Boris still juggling book tour commitments and discussions with Hollywood producers with his transfer window scheming, its been a quiet week in the Salahmon Islands, but tension is now rising as we look forward to the local derby against Fashanu Zealand, I say local, but with the SatNav on the blink following the recent cyber attack, we had to consult TripAdvisor for directions to the ground.

"Steer the raft to the end of the road, turn right onto the South Pacific Ocean bearing south past Australia (waving the Ashes goodbye as you go), and heading towards the smell of sheep dip. Pick an Island to moor on and ask any native (they're all related) the way to Plough Lane."

With that problem solved the next issue is team tactics. With FNZ's ethos based on the long ball, longer ball and occasional drop goal, watching them play is worse than being waterboarded, but Boris has a plan. First, having transfer listed Unitednations for scoring 99pts from the bench, the aim is to bring in Peter Crouch, with Big Bird as Plan B. FNZ also have a few injuries: Cpt Crunch has lost the use of his mouse, and Jarvis cricked his neck looking down the league table to see where we are.

Boris isn't worried about their elevated status; "Just think of them as Mozambique with benefits".

Armed with those inspirational thoughts, our no-Kane strategy, and a nervous look over the shoulder to see where Blindia are, the team bidding for mid-table obscurity will be:

    Greenwindmill (C)
    Boris
    Sune
    Lord
    Knuckles
    Swanmoretime
    Torreslove

    Glory beckons.

Will make this point one final time

If your team is a mess and you could feasibly take a -8 and still not have it fully sorted out, then just wildcard

The main argument against wildcarding now seems to be that you need to keep the wildcard for a double gameweek. But even if you play your wildcard now, it's very easy to build up to, let's say, 9 players with a DGW fixture later this season. That's partly because you have ages to prepare to get there and partly because a FH makes that easier this year (when avoiding the blanks).

But the core factor is that, when you're a week or two before the DGW, you can be sat there comfortably knowing that, assuming you pick players with a good chance of playing both games, each hit effectively only costs you -2 over single gameweekers. Simple as that.

So while a -8 can get you 2 transfers now, it can effectively get you 4 transfers before the DGW while others are using their wildcard.

TLDR: by using your wildcard right before the DGW, you're missing the only time of the season (apart from blanks) where hits are 50% off if you spend wisely.
