With time to reflect on the first three Gameweeks of the new season, we roll out the first of a two-part series of Members articles. Focussing on overall team stats, we analyse the performances in front of goal and at the back so far, slicing up the key data in order to ascertain the most impressive performers to date:

Using the featured table in conjunction with the Goal Threat table under Team Stats in the Members section, we turn our attentions to attacking potential thus far:

    Kostja says:

As I see people still struggling with UCL teams, gonna repost my UCL budget options, these are only preliminary shallow notes based on this season stats, so sample sizes may are a bit small. But this could still be helpful. I did not pay too much attention on defenders as I feel good defenders are a must in this format. The players named here should be nailed on as they have played the majority of the games held so far. If I got something wrong let me know.

    AC Milan
Boateng-has taken most shots on goal this season and very attacking
    Piazzini- takes pens, differ

Arsenal- Gibbs 4.5 very cheap and should be nailed on

Chelsea- Lamps 7 mil might miss some games but takes pens and is a solid option otherwise

    Bayern Munich-
Manducic- only 8.5 mil is a steal until Mario Gomez is out.

    Cluj
Cadu, pens cheap price 4 mil

    Bate Borisov
Renan Bressan CAM- pen taker 4.5 mil

    Nordsielland
Stockholm CM- pen taker 4.5 mil

    Porto-
Jackson Martinez forward- pen taker 6.0

    Shalke-
Uchida- 4mil cheap defender, started all games this season

    Shaktar-
Henrick Mkhitarjan 11 goals 4 ast in 8 games this season( crazy stats) only 5.5 mil

    Spartack moskva-
Kombarov top scorer this season 3 out of 6( possible pen taker, taken only 1 this season, but many took pens last season) 5mil

    Dinamo Zagreb
Vida, Sammir- pen taker and top scorer 5 mil

    Galatasaray-
Umut Bulut 5mil- top scorer this season, felipe melo- could take pens 5mil

    Juventus-
Lichtensteiner super cheap 4.5 and should be nailed on defender in a top team and Vidal pen taker and very OOP

    Lille
    Pen taker- Payet

    Manchester United-
Ryan Giggs 6 mil- gut feeling he is going to play most UCL games(like last season) and put up nice stats
Rafael, with no fit RBs in sight he is bound to get games in UCL too. 5mil Evra is also 5m

    Montepellier-
    Belhanda- pen taker 6mil
herrera- top scorer so far 5.5

    Malaga
    4mil defenders- Demichelis, Welington

    Olympiacos-
Holebas could take penalties has taken half this season took many last season too and is a cheap 4mil defender

    braga-
Michel top scorer this season 4.5

    Benfica
Rodrigo is top scorer so far 5.5

Just check spelling and I forgot to add Vidas price and the fact that he is a defender under Dynamo Zagreb. All stats based on Transfermarkt and some random betting sites.

Good morning/afternoon to you all. I have 3 questions,

1.Nasri to Cazorla for a 4 point hit? I already have Podolski

3.Who to play, Friedel or Federici for the Spurs vs Reading game?

Thanks. On point n.o 1, if anything the Liverpool game has shown us that fixtures should not act as a deterrence towards overlooking certain players. All Arsenal’s attacking play is going through Santi and he has played exceptionally well this season.

But he was due a goal there, his conversion rate is actually very bad as he takes most of his shots from outside the box. So there is no need to panic he wont be the new coming of Fabregas :)

              Hannibal Jack says:

He doesn’t have the best conversion rate but 3 games is a small sample, Santi is leading all midfielders in chances created, through balls, successful passes in the final third, total shots and shots on target. I think he will be among the top scoring midfielders this season. His stats to date are impressive.

Check this post out from my small fantasy diary. Youll see what I mean by bad conversion rate. I investigated his stats from his last season which was actually one of his best scoring wise. This was after GW1.

Firstly, do you have enough in the bank to take the hit on the price rise?
Secondly, taking a 4 point hit isn’t anything in the wider scheme of things especially when you’re talking about having Cazorla for the rest of the season….34 gws to go!! I would take the 4 point hit to make sure you secure him IMO.
      Good luck

Greenred makes a strong point. No argument about Yaya’s point return, especially during City’s good streaks. However, having seen the attacking style of Santi and the amount of goals that the Saints’ defense has allowed, it is possible that gwk4 could be the Spaniards’ breakthrough week. IMO

well, toure has been consistent and i think he will be for the rest of the season, cazorla is starting to pick up but only since last week, though he has potential, i think you should just watch him for the next (few) game(s) and see if he can bring you good points, week-in, week-out, then add him :)

My team ATM(for profit, or at least a noob attempting to make some profit)

    Vorm(Cerny)
Ivanovic Demel Reid McAuley MerteSacker.(bought most of them for the price they were at on(8sept)
Hazard cazorla michu toure sterling(had toure and hazard before GW started got michu and Cazorla recently Michu for 7.3)
RVP Tevez Pogbrenyak(Since GW 2 except pogbre)

No you don’t. Ben Arfa will get as many points as Cazorla. Much more attacking and playing closer to goal with two great strikers. Arsenal have one very good striker and GIroud. Podolski good but Lambert will get nearly as many goals if not more for a lot less.

I will be in LA, San Francisco & San Diego. What is the atmosphere like at a pre season NFL game? Will it be as quiet as pre season football games over here?

Forget the baseball in San Diego. The Zoo is class, apparently world class!, Seaworld is good. The Old Town is cool. Was there a few weeks ago. Allegedly Legoland is good but a bit far out of town.

San Diego zoo is awesome. Very very recommended. NFL preseason is boring, they play the starters for like 3 series and shut them down.

Pre-season? Oh geez. Like going to the library.

No one wants to be there but as most NFL teams make you buy pre-season games with your season ticket people turn up anyway and spend the time chatting, drinking and eating rather than watching the scrubs play

Been there done the lot :)

I’ve been to 50+ NFL games and am headed to NY on Thursday then Charlotte, NC to watch my Giants play. Nothing like it.

NHL is good but only if you’re down low and close to the action. The game is like light speed but having players smash their noses up against the glass right in front of you and blood go everywhere is great!

NBA? Buy tickets after the game starts, drink heavily and then watch for final two mins. It’s the only time it’s worth watching!

Baseball? Remember that Simpson’s episode where Homer can’t drink and says ‘I never knew the game was so boring’? He’s right!!!! Like watching paint dry!

Fair play. I’m living in Abq nearly two years now. Say a minor league baseball game. Boring but you can drink pints so it had some compensations. The Lobos college basketball team are decent, wanna go and see them before I head home probably next year.

Went through Charlotte to Dublin before. Looks nice, very green. It’s a popular NASCAR or Indy car venue?
