It’s back. This morning, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game opened its doors for registration ahead of the 2015/16 season, allowing Fantasy managers plenty of time to tinker before the action finally gets underway.

A quick look at the Price List shows only seven players will set you back at least 10.0 – three midfielders and four forwards, with Sergio Aguero the costliest option at 13.0.

Elsewhere, Tottenham’s Harry Kane has been handed a bumper price rise on the back of 21 goals and five assists last season – at 9.5 this time around, he’s no longer budget friendly. Premier League new boys Memphis Depay and Roberto Firmino will both set you back 8.5 – as expected, the duo are listed as midfielders.

The big news, however, concerns a number of new rules to the game. Fantasy managers are handed three chips which they can only play once in a season. This comprises the following:

Bench Boost – Fantasy managers will receive all points from their 15-man squad in a chosen Gameweek.

Triple Captain – allows us to collect three times our selected captain’s score in a specified Gameweek.

All-Out Attack – this allows you to field a 2-5-3 formation in a chosen Gameweek.

It’s worth noting that we cannot use any of these chips in the same Gameweek as a Wildcard. In addition, Fantasy managers can only use one chip in a chosen round of fixtures.

On the subject of Wildcards, there’s been a significant change. Fantasy managers are now handed one wildcard for each half of the season – if you don’t use your first one before Gameweek 20, you lose it. Subsequently, there is no longer a set period for a winter Wildcard.

We now have 30 days to fine-tune our 15-man squads until United and Spurs go head-to-head in the early lunchtime kick-off on Saturday, August 8 at 12.45pm.

As always, we’ll be rolling out a series of Player Price List articles over the upcoming days, breaking them down by position.

For now, though, this is just a heads-up. Enjoy.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Are people forgetting Yaya scored 10 (half of which were when Aguero was absent) and assisted 1 compared to Silva's 12 goals 12 assists? I think Silva is the better option and better value this season.

The key is in the 'half of which were when Aguero was absent'.

Silva might be the better option, but the last two seasons have shown us that Yaya on pens is a monster - 8.5m is far too low a price when he's taking them.

Yes, but why but a player just for pens? If you're going to do that get Jordi Gomez for 5.0.

Plus, the first two fixtures are wba and CHE which are hardly the fixtures you want for a two week punt

“They arranged my transfer without asking me,” Holebas told gazzeta.gr.

“I haven’t signed anything yet, I have to see the contract first. I don’t know why this has happened, I know that both Roma and Watford announced my transfer, but they’d have to talk to my representatives first.

“I never said I wanted to leave Roma. I’ll sign after first agreeing to the terms of the contract.

“I can’t understand what’s happened, I came back from my holiday in Dubai, and everyone started telling me my transfer had been officially announced.

“I’m in Germany right now, how could I sign a contract?"

    Bonus changes.

A quick look at the BPS reveals a couple of key changes.

There are less points available for passes.

    In 2014/15

    9 BPS 90% pass completion
    6 BPS 80 to 89% pass completion
    3 BPS 70 to 79% pass completion

In 2015/16 this has reduced to

    6 BPS 90% pass completion
    4 BPS 80 to 89% pass completion
    2 BPS 70 to 79% pass completion

But there are more points available for CBI...with 1 BPS for every 2 clearance, block and interception rather than for every 3.

So for those defenders that did well in terms of passing they should be fine as long as they have strong CBI stats - ie Terry

But for those who do well in passing but not CBI, ie Hazard, Yaya and Fabregas - they will find themselves with marginally less BPS this year.

Point to consider - sticking with Chelsea I wonder if this could mean more bonus for Costa. How often last season did he score and miss out to Haz and Fab? If his midfield team mates have less BPS he could turn more of his goals into actual Bonus Pts.

Another point to consider is a change to tackling. There are now 2 BPS for every net successful tackle rather than one. Sticking with Chelsea again this should benefit the likes of Matic who has a high net tackle rate. It is likely to offer minimal gain to Fab and Haz who win only fractionally more tackles than they lose. The big winners here are Azpi and Ivanovic whose net tackling is superb.

Here's more on Chelsea's BPS stats for Members http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/5190/

Azpi will be an interesting case. He made half the CBIs as Terry and Cahill, but successful net tackles have also increased from 1 to 2 BPS which is where he excels.

The first one only has tackles won not lost so doesn't show any net tackles figures which are needed.

And the second one shows that Azpi has a really strong net tackle rate. So will do well.

Where Terry will do better is on CBI, but Terry will also miss out on passing so I think Terry will be just about even over the two seasons.

Your tables show that Azpi and Ivan should be big winners regarding tackling.

That of course is just among Chelsea though, as I think I mentioned before on another thread on this Morgan, William and Jagielka could be the real beneficiaries of this change. Time will tell, but tough tackling full backs and centre backs with good CBI are on the march up, while slick passers will get less bonus.

From this table it looks like you are talking circa 2bps extra per defender per game maximum for tackles and cbi so maybe we are overestimating the significance of the changes?

What are these 3 chips? How many times can you use them? I don't like the idea of it. Any other new features?

Why is everyone going for Panti when people like Lloris, Howard, Adrian, Fabianski and Mignolet are going for the price

I can only compare this to a gaming comparison where they make a simulation and turn it into an arcade game

Providing boosters and nitro power to racing games where they now just bounce off each other

Chips can be used to potentially enhance your team's performance during the season.

Only one chip can be played in a single Gameweek. The chips available are as follows:

      Name

      Effect

All Out Attack Allows you to play a 2-5-3 formation in the next Gameweek.
Bench Boost The points scored by your bench players in the next Gameweek are included in your total.
Triple Captain Your captain points are tripled instead of doubled in the next Gameweek.
Wildcard All transfers (including those already made) in the Gameweek are free of charge.
