With week by week statistics available on our test servers (soon to be rolled out to our Members), I thought it would be a good time to demonstrate some of the analysis this affords Fantasy Managers by examining some of the key player statistics from the weekend.

Breaking things down by position, the statistics offer valuable insight on the weekend’s performers, in addition to revealing the potential on offer by some new potential targets…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Would like to get Elmander like most, but it means getting rid of carrol or taking a 4 point hit, is it worth it?

I'm keeping him. It's probably as good a time as any to be playing Man United and Chelsea, especially if Terry's still out then, as neither are looking that solid at the back at the moment.

It would seem from the above report, Mancini still favors Boateng as his first choice RB(Zabaleta might have something to say about that), it should also mean Kolarov wont be losing his place to Boateng at LB

Well it obviously has to be one of Jarvis, N'Zogbia or Carroll and I wouldn't bench N'Zogbia against the Spammers....

Carroll's form then wins it for me... Jarvis and Wolves haven't exactly set the world alight in terms of scoring goals...

It's a tough decision, no doubt. I'd just be a lot more worried with one of Carroll or N'Zogbia on the bench than Jarvis

I just felt maybe with newcastles generally poor form at home (minus Villa & Sunderland) that u might bounce back and with there injury problems they may spend a lot of time on the back foot.

The way I'd look at it, is if Carroll doesn't do much, is it the end of the world? No. Because about 50% of people have him and pretty much everyone will be in the same boat.... And if he scores and gets some BPs, there are a million players getting those points and you have them stuck on the bench.

Playing Carroll is definitely the 'safer' option.

imo he was pretty woeful in the last gane, bar his key contributions. I'm not sure whether that is a good or a bad thing. It could be argued that him playing so sh*te and still coming out with the goods means that good things should follow week after week.

If anyone cares here is the response I got from the FPL towers when asking about a rule clarification of when an assist is given for handball in the penalty area and when not.

"Nolan chested the ball before handballing. As Lee was not in control of the ball or aiming a pass when the handball was made, no assist was given for this goal. In contrast, Torres kicked the ball and the ball directly hit the defender's hand, so an assist was awarded."

Fair enough really, I was really clutching at straws for that one. Although Torres didn't really kick the ball directly onto the hand, it hit somebody else on the way.

I used to go to uni with them. They sat behind me in lectures, and (though you wouldn't think it from the music) they were very giggly. They sounded like Coldplay at the time, it was a a couple of years before they got their sound.

Oh really. That's a good story.

They still sound a bit like Coldplay on some of their poor tracks imo. They certainly have taken that route since The Back Room, which is by far and away their best record imo.

Didn't love the latest one really, although Papillon is a real hit.

Remember seeing them and they did one song called Release (a bside to Munich, I think, in the UK only) which was totally different to the rest of the set and really stood out. I think I already know the answer to this but for some reassurance.

Play Konchesky, (or Jara ha!) or do -4 and get Kolorov in for Alcaraz? I don't see a Liverpool or Manc clean sheet i don't think so unless Kolorov scores, assists or bps then no gain (or break even) is made.

I got Elmander in for Piquionne on Saturday eve using the money i saved getting in Ferdinand over Vidic last week so my team is:

    Foster
    ACole | Ferdinand | Konchesky
    Nani | VDV | Fabregas | Jarvis
    Drogba | Elmander | Carroll

    Gilks, Alcaraz, Barton, Jara

Anyone still harbouring their Wild Card like myself?

Feeling a bit twitchy this past week or two but I'm sitting on nearly 800 points and my team has never once screamed 'overhaul' to me.

    Team for this coming gameweek:

    VDS
    A.Cole/Hughes/Coleman
    Arteta/Nani(c)/Fabs/VDV/Dempsey
    Chamakh/Piquionne

    Subs: Hahnemann/Caroll/Konchesky/Elmo

There's a few there I would prefer to get rid of i.e. Elmo, Arteta etc but I feel it's not a desperate situaion.

    Agree or disagree?

Every week I look to take him out but he always seems to be the lesser of two evils in my team. Even this week Elmo seems a bigger short term problem.

Dodgy. I've seen plenty of those given!

For instance 'keeper parries' usually result in assists, do they not? So player A takes a shot, keeper saves it but into the path of player B, who scores. Player A gets the assist. I'd feel robbed (altho I must say I havent seen the goal)

Sometimes they change things very late, but this one sounds unlikely.

I remember one a few years ago when Arteta played a through ball, Bramble tried to knock it back to the keeper but it was woefully short...the Everton striker ran on and knocked it in.

Arteta was awarded the assist because he was aiming for the through ball anyway before Bramble played it back...cost ke a mini-league and cash. Not happy!
