With week by week statistics available on our test servers (soon to be rolled out to our Members), I thought it would be a good time to demonstrate some of the analysis this affords Fantasy Managers by examining some of the key player statistics from the weekend.

Breaking things down by position, the statistics offer valuable insight on the weekend’s performers, in addition to revealing the potential on offer by some new potential targets…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Having held off far too long on getting VDV in (stupidly gave Theo one last chance to get his butt into gear) he is coming in this week. Unfortunately this is gong to involve a hit, but feel worth it for long term. Am thinking:

    Walcott > VDV
    Toure > Kolorov
    Alex > Rafael

This leaves 0.0 so will have to do today to avoid VDV price change risk (ownership is rocketing). Any thoughts / alternative suggestions?

I don't like anything about VDV, had him in my team for one day but couldn't stand the idea of it. he is a selfish #&$^ and that's perfect for your fantasy team. Why alex to rafa? keep toure and go alex to korolov

Yep, he seems lazy and petulant, but he has that bit of class that is lacking in many areas this season and looks like he will continue to reap rewards.

Would do just Alex > Kolorov but can't afford VDV that way.

VDV is definitely a must, however you should wait - theres midweek CL games still to get through. Not sure about Raphael as he could get rotated. I'd go for Ferdinand or Vidic alongside a cheap defender..

Any advice on whether should replace Elmo with Bramble or Kolorov? I suspect City will win more games now, but will concede odd goal as they take more risks.

Think Sunderland are good for next few fixtures, but Bramble a red-card/owngoal accident in waiting. Any thoughts?

depending on injuries/champs league etc im hoping to do Elmo to Kolorov this week. I liked how he got forward against Fulham and he seems to have a pretty good left hoof on him...

Aside from Bramble's solo wonder goal vs. sundlerland when he was at Mighty Ipswich i cant remember him scoring much....!

Thanks, I think I'll go with Kolorov as I liked his potential yesterday and I remember Mancini saying he wanted to have Boateng and him raiding down the wings like Cole and Bosingwa did at Chelsea the other year.

Bramble will have to wait till next week..

Do you think I can avoid using the free transfer this week?

    Carson - (Mignolet)

Vidic - Kolarov - Foley (Coleman) - (Simpson)

    Fabregas - Nani - Bale - Lee - Jarvis

    Drogba - Torres (Odemwingie)

You'd have to trust Carson against Everton away (risky) as Mignolet seems to be out now Gordon's back and go with a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 Foley, Simpson, Jarvis or Odemwingie on the bench. I don't fancy Wolves to keep many clean sheets either no matter who they're playing but Jarvis could well score or assist.

For me Berbatov's lack of fantasy points isn't his problem as a player.

His big fault lies in the lack of effort he puts in for his team, he never works to close down defenders, making it easier for opposition to build attacks from defence and break down united as their midfield starts to tire towards the end of a game.

Look at the amount of late goals conceded by united when Berbatov plays compared to those conceded when he doesn't play.

You sir know very little about football if you actually believe this. Its a tired line spun by lazy journos.

Berbatov is generally up around 10k plus in distance covered.

And you think there is an actual correlation between Berbatov and United defence? lol

You sir, are wrong. United have conceded more than twice as many goals per minute with Berbatov on the pitch. The facts -

                United with Berbatov on pitch:

                Mins: 957 Goals Conceded: 13

                Goal conceded every 73.6 mins

                United without Berbatov:

                Mins 317 Goal conceded: 2

                Goal conceded every 158.5 mins

I've got sod all off my captains for weeks now, so could do with getting it right this time. The options are:

Nani is the safest of all since he has a home game while fabs and drog are playing away, and don't risk Elmander since Kevin Davies is a great threat to him in bonus points. Nani has got plenty of bonus points in the last 5 or so weeks.

Looking at shipping elmo but not sure who for, have 0.5m in the bank.

Was gonna look at freeing up cash for RVP but that's probably pretty stupid given the strength of the front 8 already, might downgrade arteta to do that one later though.

Getting goals and assists though (more than Malouda and Arteta right now at any rate) - plus Dempsey will be deployed as a striker with Dembele being injured... I'll be plumping for one or both this week with their nice fixtures to come.

Arteta will be out of my team by this weekend, regardless of what he does tonight - he's playing too deep and ineffective...

Do you think I should avoid using the free transfer this week?

    Carson – (Mignolet)

Vidic – Kolarov – Foley (Coleman) – (Simpson)

    Fabregas – Nani – Bale – Lee – Jarvis

    Drogba – Torres (Odemwingie)

I'm sitting pretty on 38 points (urgghh!) Coleman and Arteta to play.
I think not taking points hit has become a bit of an obsession for me, to my cost.
    Any advice please;
I've already done ACole OUT Vidic IN

Should I do Piquionne OUT Elmander IN (4 points)
Arteta OUT vdv IN (another 4 points)

Or give Piq a chance at home to Wigan (without Alcaraz) and give Arteta one last chance at home to West Brom.

Do the above transfers over next two weeks for no hit?

    Thanks

            You're probably right Boggo.
But, Bolton seem intent on playing attacking football this season and Elmander is looking sharp enough to continue scoring even when they stop winning games.

As someone who has followed Elmander through all his career I have to say that I am reluctant to get him in.

I am deeply worried that he will lose confidence soon and then goals will dry up, and I am also worried that he deep down knows that he is just on a huge fluke that might come to an end any day.

Then again, Owen Coyle might really keep his confidence high and he will continue scoring for fun. It's a really though one with Elmander imo.

Yes he was a confidence player, but in general he was loved down there and scored about 1 in 3.

In the national team he has usually looked low on confidence and unable to do anything at all, much like the last two season's at Bolton.

Elmander is a player I really like and I think at that price it's not the end of the world if you buy him and he fails, but I'm still a bit reluctant as deep inside I don't really believe he'll be able to keep it up for much longer.

Right, weighing up Carroll -> Elmander.

Carroll next 5 - CHE wba LIV bir MCY tot

Elmander next 5 - BLP mcy BLA sun WBA che

Elmanders fixtures are better but I don't particularly want to lose Carroll.

My main worry is my defence and keeper situation. I really need to upgrade. If I did Drogba to Elmander it would free up so much money to do that but is massively risky.

Afternoon all. Now what is everyones views on Cashley? I see people getting rid of the rest of the Chelsea defenders but not so much him. Who is getting rid/keeping and why? I sort of want to get rid of him so I can get Vidic or Evra or Another highly priced defender, so not a downgrade, I have had him from the start 7.5 and he is now 8.4 so is valued at 7.9 in my team. I have enjoyed having him and I would be worried watching a Chelsea game without him in my team. I don't think I will be able to afford getting him back in and don't know if I would want too at that price. Opinions anyone?

Season keeper for me, barring injury. I'm certain Chelsea will come good both defensively and to bring him some attacking returns.

Also I don't want to get the "big front 8" dilemma again which I had all season, where I had to bench a good player every week just because I had invested all my money in midfielders and attackers.

Yeah, giving him another week and then I will consider his position again.

No need to rush in Tevez for an away game at Stoke imo, and my other attackers are not THAT much worse than Elmander for this upcoming gameweek as well. Benching Carroll.

See I sort of have that dilemma already, but I have budget strikers and I won't be downgrading him much, 0.6/7 or whatever it is, so I don't think the problem lies there. I think I will save my transfer anyways now. He might get a cleanie. Newcastle's pitch is also quite big (One of the biggest in the league if not THE biggest), which will give Cashley a lot of room on the ball and to run into, obviously the downside is that he has to track back further.

First reaction was to get rid, but like you, Cashley keeps me hostage with his high price. GJohnson would be an able replacement, considering fixtures. I've also thought about dropping Cole and double up on City defenders. Only problem is that I can see Chelsea keeping it clean in the next two at least.

with that price youd have to...hes almost like a midfielder with the bonus of cs esp a home the way he gets up and down..i haven't had him all season wish i had. but i wouldnt get rid if i did

At the moment there's a lot of defenders looking nice to me but with the likely hood of playing 3 at the back 95% of the time, it's choosing who to go for, I would like 3/4 from:

      A.Cole
      Kolorov
      Vidic
      Samba
      LIV Defender
SUN defender (although I'll probably get Gordon)

So you would actually like to have A.Cole, interesting. I have the top two there and well my defence apart from them two is wank. Coleman (Not too bad I suppose) Hutton, Tottenham never keep cleanies. Jara (Purely bench fodder). So perhaps Hutton -> Bramble/Bardsley.

I mean have / keep , currently have Cole & Vidic and have the funds to do Coleman > Kolorov next gameweek but the Liverpool & Blackburn have nice fixtures and I'd like to cover them too.

After pondering my Chelsea defence for hours I decided to keep Cech and Cashley for another week and opted to swap Drogba for Tevez.

    my current squad.

    GK: Cech (Mignolet)

Def: Toure R.Ferdinand A.Cole (Konchesky, Simpson)

Mid: Nani Lee VDV Brunt (Albrighton)

    For: Carroll Tevez Rooney
