For a bit of interest I looked up this GW's All-star lineup (before tonight's game). It is a massive 170pts with the players involved adding up to a paltry 74.0m. It means nothing, but a bit of a laugh.

Cahill is off for the Asian cup in a couple of weeks time so I wouldnt recommend it only for a few games. I would definitely upgrade defence though - I have my eye on Kolarov as do many on here. City have a good run coming up. In fact I already have Boateng so am thinking of doubling up.
Worth bringing in tevez for 4 point hit? front line of Chamakh,Carroll and Gyan.
Same question here. My frontline stands at Chamakh, Torres and Elmander and I want to sub Chamakh for Tevez especially as Van persie is going to be eased back in. But that means a 4 point hit this GW, or risking Tevez having a good game vs Stoke and value rising further. Unsure what to do.
Think tevez seems to score better away from home

Who does everyone think is the best midfielder in the 5-7 million range for the next 6-8 weeks? (or even longer).

Everyone holding firm with Drogba?
I'm holding on for two more weeks as Newcastle conceded 5 this weekend.
Yeah, thinking of holding him this weekend then Torres in.
For now. Newcastle are without Collocini and Drogba would have had a hattrick had it not been for Foster. Drogba's gonna raise hell on some team soon, you can juse sense it, and that in turn should bring his form back up to scratch
My only concern is that Man City have very tasty fixtures coming up and I can't afford Tevez without either getting rid of Drogba or re-shuffling my whole team around, taking points hits. Definitely keeping Drogba for this week anyway
You should go for Mancini's fav son! Super Mario, if he keeps his cool he is deadly in front of goal. Mancini will always play him, Jo will make way, nice and cheap at 8.6!

For FPL defenders...are full backs generally much more popular than centre backs? I am heading towards an all-full-backs defence of:
Coleman(RB/RM), Konchesky(LB), Kolarov(LB), Bardsley(RB) and either Boswinga(RB) or Rafael(RB)
Full backs - Assist potential + cheaper (usually)
Centre backs - Bonus + goal potential
But some full backs don't fit the norm, so they tend to be the ones that people go for.
A. Cole gets bonus and is the most regular starter in the Chelsea team, hence his massive price.
Coleman is OoP so barely counts as a full back.

I have no reason to back this up but i think that elmander might not play so well this week, just a hunch. Also why do you have four defenders, surely more points are scored with attacking players.
Just looking at the number 1 in the whole game..interesting to note that he only has 1 player over £10m being a striker, having big name defenders seemingly the tactic which works 4 him...
Is making me think about my strategy

Having watched the game last night, I think all non-Kolarov owners should consider themselves a bit lucky that he only got a 2 pointer. Could have easily scored that 1-on-1, could have at least 2 assists, and was on a number of set pieces including half the corners. I usually stand by the "no 4pt hit for defender" rule, but I'm seriously considering it this week, not least because I need to play 1 of Jara / P Jones / Elmo. I can afford to bring him in for any of those 3. Anyone else considering it?
