While Danny Welbeck’s winner for Sunderland attracted keen interest from Fantasy investors, another player in the mid-price bracket quietly went about his business and hovered up another 3 Fantasy Premier League Bonus Points as a result.

Morten Gamst-Pedersen failed to register a goal or assist in the 1-1 draw with West Ham but, on investigation of the OPTA stats available to our Members, we can not only see evidence of perhaps his best performance of the season, we can also detect a transformation in Blackburn’s play that could promote the Norwegian in our thinking for weeks to come…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

the met office gives the day temp a bit higher than that but I agree I am not expecting that one to go ahead but otherwise I expect a full fixture list.....bring it on!!!!!

Anyone know if Samba is fit for the weekend?

Also, read some news saying that if the new owners keep running the club as they are now (ie sacking their manager with no obvious blueprint for replacing him), Samba wants to leave.

no update on his injury, and this revelation could be a problem. the manager could play givet and nelsen i suppose but for now with jones injured i think samba may get in the side due to necessity and as he's still their captian for now

to be honest he blasted the club and not the stand in manager so i still think he will play unless the board have something to do about it which would be a scandal in itself

Yeah, I don't think that will affect his selection right away.

Saying that, the stand-in manager's agent is Jerome Anderson, who has close links with Kentaro, who advised the chicken-mongers on their purchase of the club, and advise them on transfer targets.

I'm about to make my one free transfer this week:

    Bale (out) for VDV (in)

Can anyone give me a reason not to do this transfer?

It could be too early to bring van der Vaart in, I think. I, for one, will be giving him a game to readjust.

I would save the transfer and then do Samba > Shawcross and Elemander>Rooney next week .... Boltons and Blackburns fixtures stiffen considerably after this gameweek.

what if bale outscores VDV which is possible...iv learned in the past never transfer players within the same team unless injured, if you dont transfer him in then you wont feel as bad as transfering someone out who does better, VDV would have to get 4 points more than bale to break even unless you keep him in loing term, but who says he wont get injured or be rotated seeing as hes just come back from injury? bale nailed on every game

    Robinson
    Kolarov Kyriagkos Foley
    Nasri MGP Nani Cahill Brunt
    Tevez Carroll

    Subs: Begovic, A.Cole, Bent, Bardsley

2 free transfers and 3.0m in the bank.

    1) Seriously struggling with the starting line up and subs order. Anyone disagree with the above.

    2) In terms of transfers I am thinking Kyriagkos - Rafael. With good chances the game will be called off and Agger on the verge of a return the greek experiment may be over? Whatdya think?

I think following a comfortable win v Arsenal this weekend they will go on a very good run. The fixtures are too good to ignore, although they still managed to do just that on the Frisking the Fixtures article.

Get rid of Torres anyway he's a complete waste. Would go for Drogba over Tevez to be honest. Tevez wasn't that good against Everton, and Drogba apparently has a good record against Arsenal. Newcastle kept Chelsea quiet at SJP and will do the same to City.

Personally think it's a waste having Nasri and Fab too, especially if you're keeping one on the bench!

Sorry but anyone who knows a little something about football knows that Drogba does well against Arsenal, that word "apparently" suggests to me that you didn't know this. My football knowledge is crap in comparison to some people on here, but surely you KNOW that. Torres isn't a complete waste either, OK away from home he is pretty wank, but at Anfield, there is no stopping him.

agreed which is the reason i got him and would keep him BUT i think tevez would outscore him until i play my wildcard. its odviously drogba has a excellent record against us, the cards are laid out for chelsea to win by 3, drogba will be on freekicks as well, he likes his freekicks against us unless alex is in the team lol

So what if I didn't know about the Drogba stat, what's your point? Does my opinion now need to be completely discounted because of this? I'm aware he's scored recently against them but couldn't be bothered to check over the entire time Drog's been in the EPL about his stats vs Arsenal. I didn't play the game last yr and don't support an EPL team so frankly didn't deem the stats important enough to remember off by heart

Oh and the Torres comment is personal opinion mate. What's he done so far, compared to Tevez and Drogba who are in a simlar price bracket? Remember everyone who transferred him in vs Newcastle because they THOUGHT he was due a decent points haul?

I'm not sure. Gerrard coming back will galvanise Torres... maybe.

Then again, I'd monitor the Blackpool situation. If the game is getting called off then Rooney in for Torres will be a good option.

Tevez would be my choice of the 3. Rather regretting bringing in Rooney (AGAIN) 2 weeks ago, but he may repay me yet. Just brought in Tevez for Chamakh in the Metro game because those retards count the period 26th - 31st as a DGW so cant make changes for GW 20 so to speak.

Torres will be out for a 25 point hit if it looks like the Blackpool game is off too (remember, before anyone has a heart attack, this is Metro, not FPL!)

Tevez for me, in pretty much every game i've seen him play where he's not scored well he has come very close. You know you're going to get alot of effort with him too. Probably a season keeper for me, he's so important for City - who i know get a bad rep for being so defensive, on their day they create lots of chances and play some quality football

    Hart
    Onuoha - R Johnson - Rafael
    Lampard - Nasri - Lee - MGP
    K Davies (c) - Carrol - Rooney

    Bench - Robinson(GK) Bardsley - Albrighton - Ridgewell

I'm not sure who to put as captain but I think davies is due a couple of goals especially since they're at home to west brom and they dont have the best defence. Also not sure whether to swap Nasri and Albrighton as i cant see nasri getting much joy against Chelsea, what do you guys think?

I wouldn't touch that team this week but would be looking to shift Lee very soon.

I would be captaining Lamps if we have any indication that he will be back, just like the fat one to come back with a bang.

      Looking good for the week

Which is what the January wildcard is for, getting rid/in transferred players. I also prefer Wigan's fixtures.

did anyone read that article about Balotelli in the metro today and his comments about Jack Wilshire?
im not an arsenal fan ro a balotelli fan but, he its clear to see he is a prize winning tool.

If i was manager I would drop him to the bench for bein a petulant, diving, moaning, disloyal, dirty, idiot.

    rant over.

yeah, i agree but he seems to be a product of "modern football" if that actually means anything. He's Mancini's boy and obviously has something going for him so i doubt we'll see him being dropped any time soon - if he was gonna be dropped surely it would have been against Everton because he was miles worse the week before!

I don't think i'd be happy about players like that in my team.

Reckon I will be getting Adam in in GW 22, at which point I will have 4 DGW's for GW24. The advantage of this is that there will be alot of sheep in particular loading up on 3 United and 1-2 Blackpool players with their WC's that week, and I will be ready, and sitting on some nice player values.

Best time to use WC seems to be in GW26-27

Probably be quite high scoring game, but we have quite a decent record against them, I know a few people who think we have a good chance of winning. I personally think a high scoring draw, maybe 2-2!

Same but stranger things have happened this season. I think it's just that we've upset the odds against Arsenal, Man Utd and Everton that were confident we can do it again. I still don't rate Bolton as individuals so think we have a good chance.

Just in reply to the post above about the Blackpool game being played "behind closed doors".
Where are they playing it? Does that mean media coverage wont be allowed? Do you have a source?

I presume behind closed doors is just that the public won't be there, the games are being called off in many cases because of the health and safety of the fans, but that being said, I thought it was just the frozen pitch at Blackpool as opposed to the surrounding areas, so media can be there
