Sometimes us Fantasy Managers are just too fickle. Surely few of us lost faith in Charlie Adam? We know his influence in the Blackpool midfield – his role of quarterback, prompting every move of purpose with careful possession, launching instant attacks with raking 60-yard passes. We also know that Adam sits on free-kicks and penalties – today’s brace in the 2-2 draw at Ewood reminded us just how vital that can be.

We had all the information then, and yet, going into gameweek 30, only 1% of our Captain Poll voters fancied backing the balding ball-hogger, with heavyweight temptations like Wayne Rooney, Rafeal Van der Vaart and Nani drawing the eye.

I’m just as much to blame. Shamefully omitted form the Scout Picks behind the gameweek Fantasy failures Ashley Young and Samir Nasri, it’s almost as if Adam’s potential had slipped from memory.

Had a two-game suspension and an FA Cup break really wiped my brain? Had I mistakenly marked the data storing Adam’s achievements for “recycling†along with last week’s Masterchef winner and everything my girlfriend has ever told me?

That can’t be the case.

No, I’m only guilty of being fickle – banged to rights; distracted by bigger names and transient thrills that threw a smokescreen over Adam’s dependable potential.

Charlie is back now. Today’s points haul a sharp elbow in the ribs for the 140,000 Fantasy Premier League Managers who sold him on in recent gameweeks. A slap in the face for a Scout Picks selector seduced by erratic chancers like Villa’s Young.

And yet, I can’t guarantee that Adam will be back in my affections just yet. Can I squeeze him in my own star spangled midfield unit when it’s Fulham away and Arsenal at home to come next? Maybe.

That Arsenal game is the first of four consecutive Bloomfield Road matches – a spell that will surely guarantee that Adam’s price will rise quicker than his calorie count in May.

A new Adam bandwagon is rolling then. My memory banks safely restored. Fickle nature restrained.

By the way, Clint Dempsey scored tonight. Remember him? Didn’t he win Masterchef?

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Arshavin is the absolute king of getting 1 BP.

It's almost as if the judges watch the game, adopt the classic 'Arshavin is really lazy blah blah blah' view, then look at the stats, realise he actually played well and so give him a token bonus point.

My mistake, it guess it really depends on Lampard bps if Tevez scores 2 pts.

160 odd left, depending on the average this week a few more should go out.

so we want mancity to not score OR mancity to score without tevez involvement.
depending on that we need either lampard or torres to get booked or not get booked.
and we want a lampard assist.
quite a thin chance. nonetheless, interesting to calculate.

43 pts with 4 to play...ideally one of them won't so I can bring Odemwingie off the bench!

Meireles, Reina and Tevez are all certainties but what's the chances of Elmohady playing tomorrow? (Knowing my luck Bruce will bring him on for a 5 minute cameo).

Bonus' create the usual "wtf"s and "get in!"

    Dawson 1 BP - have a word!
Upson was by far the better centre back but Bridge deserved something.

RVP gets the 3 so even if he loses his goal (which I doubt) the 3 makes up for it.

    Coleman 0 BP - what a joke.

Still - 62 pts so far this GW - pleased.

Thought I would leave Adam a week before getting him back in .. bad decision ..

Who would you take out of the following to get him in?

Nasri, Nani, Lamps, Barton, Silva ??

Barton is a choice though it frees up cash keeping him .. was toying with Nasri .. thoughts would be welcome ..

Gooners - talk to me about my main man Andrei.

Wenger has said that Walcott and Cesc will both be back after the international break, so what do we think about Arshavin's prospects of starting next week? Obviously when everyone was fit, the forward four of Cesc - Walcott RVP Nasri was favoured, but Arshavin seems to be coming into form and was obviously crucial to the comeback today (he played well against Sunderland too).

I'd absolutely hate for the bandwagon to be ruined by Walcott of all people!

This is pretty much why i jumped off. Coupled with VdV's better fixtures. Shame A Young was another whisker off 8 points. Blurgh.

Because our fixtures are unreal! And you don't have to be playing well to score well in fantasy, as Lampard has proved throughout his entire career. 😉

Stop with the Ashley Young hard luck stories. He should have been given a red card for a second bookable offence.

If he practised a little more he might learn to score like Jarvo...

I'd hold for a week at least, no way would Wenger risk playing Walcott & Cesc who are both just returning from injury. They will be in cotton wool for a few weeks at least so you are safe. Cesc may start if fit and Theo benched would be my opinion for what it's worth.

      I wanna know this too.

On a different subject I think Arshavin gets unfair criticism for his lack of defensive duties, compared to Nasri. He never does anything defensively and he's never branded to be lazy.

Can you back that up? OPTA stats have Arshavin beating Nasri in EVERY defensive category on a similar amount of minutes played.

I don't have stats to point too, just the games i've watched that's the impression i've got - much less tracking back and much less tenacity off the ball.

In contrast to what was said below i thought the first Barca leg Alves was completely contained until Arshavin came on.

Perfect! I read the snippet of your post in the 'Recent Comments' section and was praying that you continued on to make a point about how Nasri is no better.

Agree 100%. Dani Alves running riot down the right last week showed just how little Nasri does defensively, even when he was presumably told to do more than usual.

Pretty sure Walcott had to wait a little bit before getting back into the starting lineup last time he was injured?

As it is i think they'd be better off playing Nasri in midfield instead of the waste that is Denilson, Rosicky etc.

But, again according to the tweet, they'll have Song and co. back too, so they'll be able to play the side they were playing a few weeks back:

        Song Wilshere
        Walcott Fabregas Nasri
        RVP

Other than instead of Walcott, I can't see Arshavin getting in the side, regardless of his form. Walcott, despite all his flaws, offers them something completely different and should play whenever he's fit.

You're probably right, that said i wouldn't be surprised if they shared time for a little while.

I'm sure that team fully fit won't last long anyway, if they get there at all, so you might not need to worry.
