The Saturday Surgery has closed. Pre-season is over. The sea of “Rate-my-teams” will begin to subside. The deadline for team selection has slammed shut and then some.

At least for now, what’s done is done. It’s time for the football to begin and for some new Fantasy Football champions to be crowned as we open the Dugout Discussion…

Fulham and Aston Villa have new managers looking to start their season off in style, QPR and Norwich both return to the Premier League with ties at home to Bolton and away at Wigan respectively.

Liverpool and Arsenal are seen as big rivals for fourth place as they open against sides from the North-East. Blackburn also host Wolves.

As you can see, plenty of action going on as the season kicks off. Will your gambles pay off? Have you made the right captaincy choice? Will all that effort require a sudden wildcard? Were you even able to get through the sky-high walls around the Fantasy Premier League castle this last 24 hours? The Dugout Discussion will be open through it all as we welcome “soccer” back with a warm embrace. It’s been a long three months.

Here’s hoping Gameweek one starts with a bang deserving of the last day’s frustration. I’m sure we’ll all have a new bandwagon to jump on by the time evening is upon us – Mauro Forimica anyone?

    whats even more diappointing is that the FPL has not even updated anyone as to whats happening with the site

    i.e. sorry, but we're looking into the problem, blah blah, we're going to sack the plonker who was responsible for signing up EA Sports etc etc lol

    or

    round 1 match scores will be voided
    lol unlikely, but you never know

      i think you will find they are busy trying to sort out the problems rather than reply to annoying emails.

      admittedly a statement on the site would be useful but seriously i think people should just bare with them. they will get there in the end...

    It seems that FPL decided to cut all possible costs and fired all the staff who was responsible for points updates and BP allocation. Instead they have just one dude who will allocate points without any rush probably after watching MOTD in the evening and put in BP in the morning

    Formica goal+Senderos cleanie from 5 players so far, not bad but a bit disappointed that I had Kenny playing in goal over Given - I feel that my choice prior to the game was correct though.
