Fantasy Football is returning to our Friday night TV courtesy of a new show – The Fantasy Football Club.

We’re delighted to be amongst the first to announce the news that Sky Sports are launching a weekly show on Friday nights from 10-11pm, hosted by “Fenners” (pictured above) and Paul Merson.

The first episode will go out live on August 17 on Sky Sports HD and will mark the return of Fantasy Football to a TV audience following the demise of Baddiel and Skinner’s Fantasy Football League way back in 1996.

The Fantasy Football Club will feature celebrity guests each week, with analysis of their Fantasy lineups and the key Fantasy Football topics amongst the discussion. No really, we’ve been promised.

The Sky Sports’ own Fantasy Football game will, not surprisingly, feature throughout with a focus on the leaders and top teams. Fantasy Football Scout are supporting the game with our own league this season – details on how to join our league can be found below.

We’ll also be getting exclusive access to the team behind The Fantasy Football Club prior to the first airing, with more details to come before the August 17 kick-off. In the meantime, you might want to follow the show on Twitter right here.

And no, before you ask, I’m not the new “Statto”.

The Sky Sports Scout League

Sky Sports Fantasy Football is free to play and offers a raft of prizes, including £25,000 to the winner.

Fantasy Football Scout also has an official Sky Sports Fantasy Football League with a prize of a Samsung Blu Ray home cinema system worth up to £600 on offer.

Register your Sky Sports team and then join our “FFScout” league – the Pin is 8004519.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I've thought about it. Not going for Graham here. De Guzman is gonna be sitting back I reckon. Sinclair is out of budget. So I'll double up on Dyer and Michu as attack threat for the first 8/9 weeks.

    Dyer and Pog

    OR

    Britton & Graham

This is the really cheap part of my team and I cant decide. Don’t mind doubling up on Swansea attack and concerned that if pog doesn’t do well after his double not only will his price drop, but he will be hard to swap to another striker

I think this TV show has the potential to be massive & in turn increase the number of people playing the game & lessen the number of casual players.

This fantasy football game will be standard with the game in a few years.

I think they should float it on the stock market.

Id invest my bank balance. (£127.34)

      Walcott - Uncertainty over RVP/Cazorla
Gibbs - Always injured / Possible rotation
Osman - Maybe, Everton tend to start slow
Nani - Rotation risk compared to Valencia
Ba - Poor form after Cisse joined
      Pilkington - Rotation risk?
Walters - On and off, I'd wait til he started scoring
Larsson - Seen picked a bit, I'd rather have McClean though
      Which morission/morison/morrison?
Beausejour - Maloney is cheaper, tempting though

      Ba -Cissa/Wing/Second Half Of last Season/Aguero-Rooney -Graham/Holt/Pog
Pilkington - No idea why he's not being picked more.
Walters - Not that attractive an option despite penalties.
      Larsson - McClean
      Morisson - Meh
Beausejour -Think there's a tendency for him to play right back? Could be wrong. Plus, its Wigan.

Adam = Charlie Adam? Bin him first off.

If you're going to bring Michu in you should play him for the first 6GWs. Jones is a rotation risk. Young is slightly less of a rotation risk, but the United midfield is a big unknown at the minute. Cahill is a rotation risk (though I think he'll probably play). Cech is expensive but if you want double Chelsea defence then, well, why not.

Some issues to iron out imo...

Would people prefer Lescott playing every week and a 4.0 who isn't used or a 5.5/5.0 rotation along the lines of Koscielny/Swansea or Kaboul/Fulham?

Also considering Rafael, who looks increasingly likely to start, and a solid 4.5 backup with 0.5 left over.

This was discussed yesterday afternoon. The conclusion was that you get a similar number fo clean sheets either way, AS LONG AS YOU PICK THE CORRECT PAIR. Picking the correct pair is the tricky bit. Having said that, there could be value in Kaboul and a 5.0.

even trickier is playing the right one every week, hence why the Lescott option also appeals. Think it's worth avoiding a dud squad member in the 4.0 to begin with though

slightly worried by the amount of spurs options at CB, thinking Kos + Swans might be the way to go.

Potentially, but having Huth for long periods last season has made me prioritise cleanies this time around. Kos and Williams each got the same goal tally as Lescott last year, as an example =D

I'm stuck in two minds...I'm trying to fit too many big names in my team.

In general do you think it's better to have a more well balanced team or a top-heavy team with potential hard hitters like bale, rooney, aguero, hazard and kagawa?

There needs to be some sort of balance.

You need enough big names so you have at least 1 captain choice each week but well-enough balanced so that you're not just relying on 5 players to get you points each week.

... and therein lies the beauty of the game 🙂

Podolski up front, yes please! Makes sense with our lack on CM right now.

“I think Podolski will play more central for us”, Wenger admitted while talking to Tsinghua University students in China on Thursday.
“Giroud is a different target man who would be more the player in a 442, knocks the ball down, protects well the ball, makes play for his partners, and a very intelligent player who has great physique, as well as very strong in the air.”

Don't get this DDG/Federici rotation thing. Surely if you've got DDG you'd play him every week, home or away and save money on a 4 mil keeper you never play? When would you choose to play Fed over DDG regardless of the fixture? Am I missing an important tactical point here?

The problem lies in the fact that he won't play every week. SAF is bound to throw in Lindy for some games (most likely the easier home games going by last season). Hence Frederici is good backup + he has the added appeal of a DGW in GW1

    I am a bit generic I think....

    Mignolet - Federici
    A.Cole - Rafael - Hangeland - Clyne - Demel
    Bale - Kawaga - Pienaar - McClean - McCarthy
    Aguero - Torres - Graham

2.0 left (usual deal Torres -> Rooney),

I am toying with: Kawaga -> Silva
    Aguero -> Rooney
and keeping Torres from the start.... anyone think this is a good / bad idea?

        2250 minutes divide by 90 mins = 25 games

I wouldnt 10 min sub appearances as one game.
