Fair point, but the same is true with some FBs playing as wingers, Mids as forwards and vice versa, even Mids as defenders and vice versa. The majority tend to stick to their position unless the club have injuries.

The only impact I can see for team selection is that it might help you decide which cheap defender or midfielder to get.
