Fantasy Football is returning to our Friday night TV courtesy of a new show – The Fantasy Football Club.

We’re delighted to be amongst the first to announce the news that Sky Sports are launching a weekly show on Friday nights from 10-11pm, hosted by “Fenners” (pictured above) and Paul Merson.

The first episode will go out live on August 17 on Sky Sports HD and will mark the return of Fantasy Football to a TV audience following the demise of Baddiel and Skinner’s Fantasy Football League way back in 1996.

The Fantasy Football Club will feature celebrity guests each week, with analysis of their Fantasy lineups and the key Fantasy Football topics amongst the discussion. No really, we’ve been promised.

The Sky Sports’ own Fantasy Football game will, not surprisingly, feature throughout with a focus on the leaders and top teams. Fantasy Football Scout are supporting the game with our own league this season – details on how to join our league can be found below.

We’ll also be getting exclusive access to the team behind The Fantasy Football Club prior to the first airing, with more details to come before the August 17 kick-off. In the meantime, you might want to follow the show on Twitter right here.

And no, before you ask, I’m not the new “Statto”.

The Sky Sports Scout League

Sky Sports Fantasy Football is free to play and offers a raft of prizes, including £25,000 to the winner.

Fantasy Football Scout also has an official Sky Sports Fantasy Football League with a prize of a Samsung Blu Ray home cinema system worth up to £600 on offer.

Register your Sky Sports team and then join our “FFScout” league – the Pin is 8004519.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Guys please RMT and see if the lineup is a bit too cranky. Thanks!

    Federici, Bergovic
A Cole, Lescott, S. Taylor, Demel, Clyne
Hazard, Ben Arfa, Allen, O'Neil, Britton
    Rooney, Aguero, Torres

Woah, that's more top heavy than a lead spinning top on top of the tallest mountain top topped wit...well, you get the point.

It's a bit risky given that you've got so much cash tied up in 4 players...but even so, I kind of like it. How do NEW/WHM/SOT rotate?

Plan is to play all the newcastle players....haha. Lineup should look ilke this:-

          A Cole, Lescott, S. Taylor
          Hazard, Ben Arfa, Allen
          Rooney, Aguero, Torres

Rotate the last spot between Demel, Clyne, O'Neil, Britton.

A bit nervous though as I have never put so much upfront for a season starter....haha

Same front line as me and similar team all round.

It makes sense, they're more nailed on than any of the midfielders in their team and cheap strikers are a lottery at this stage. If you then get Bale in for Hazard you've got everything covered except Arsenal, who have a difficult start.

Thanks man. Yes, my plan is to switch Hazard out for Bale in GW 3. I was also toying with the possibility of downgrading A. Cole for someone like Fabio & upgrading Ben Arfa to Bale.

But that would be a bit too unbalanced for my liking. Because I usually reserve 2 high value spots for each category..... The alternative team is like this:

        Federici, (Bergovic)
Lescott, S. Taylor, Fabio, (Demel), (Clyne)
        Hazard, Bale, Allen, O’Neil, (Britton)
        Rooney, Aguero, Torres

Michu, Kagawa & Podolski are all untested in the PL and no-one knows how central they are to their respective managers' plans.

Ramires has to be in jeopardy from Hazard, Marin, Oscar, Lampard, Mata, Meireles (Hazard, Malouda, Benayoun, Piazon...)

      It's a bad idea.

Firstly, Chelsea play Reading, so you have players cancelling each other out. A Torres/Hazard goal is worth nothing to you, a Pog goal likewise.

Then why would you want to blow your wildcard so early. You'll regret it, I know from personal experience.

Blowing the wildcard is the obvious no-no.

The players don't entirely cancel each other out, they'll pick up more points from having a second fixture.

I think the problem is more: why would you want Reading players for games against Stoke and Chelsea within 5 days of each other??

(Whether you then keep them for gw2: sun, gw3 blank, gw4: TOT, or not)

Well this sounds good, but it's such a shame I don't have Sky Sports FF.

It's great to see some fantasy coverage on the TV, compared to American where the NFL commentators are always moaning if their player gets sacked, and forever updating us on how many points one players has.

Why are some people rating Spurs so highly?

They will lose Modric & have a new manager that did pretty bad with Chelsea.

Modric will be a loss for sure, but they have others to cover (Siggy).

AVB has to be successful, otherwise his managerial carer is pretty much done for (in England at least). I think he learnt a lot from the Chelsea experience and will do well at Spurs.

    Please RMT (draft #2,346)

    Friedel (Ruddy)

    Coloccini Terry O'Shea (Demel) (Figueroa)

    Park Ramires Bale Kagawa Guthrie

    Rooney Tevez

I now have 8m to spend on another striker. Am thinking either Dzeco 7.5m, Sturridge 8m or Graham 6m.

    Any advice welcomed 🙂

I've got Cisse at the moment.

I think there's a lot of uncertainty at Swansea with the new manager, which could affect how well they do. Graham was amazing value at 5.0 last season, but I think 6.0 is a fair price, rather than a bargain.

Have Cashley at 6.5 - great value I think, so a keeper for the season.
Wouldn't have Terry on moral grounds
Others rotation-prone - keep an eye on Ivanovic however. May bring him in later.
