Batten down the hatches, Granville’s wildcard is active. Having suffered an abominable Gameweek 2 mauling, the Mancunian has shuffled, tail between legs, back to the drawing board. The excuses and justification are spread thickly throughout and Granville even calms his jerky knee long enough to strike back at my decision to transfer in Eden Hazard: the cheek of the man.

The usual regulars are, of course, scattered about this nonsense, including a record breaking “All Aboard” the weekend preview and the recent failings of the ScoutCast XI.

Grab your protective suit and listen in via this link, or use the handy player below to stream in your browsers.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Thinking of Ivanovic ➡ Baines for an 8 point hit (already done a 4: Barnett and Guthrie ➡ Kagawa and Rangel). Which option do you think will score the most points in the next few weeks (keeping in mind the chance of Ivanovic rotation):

    A) Clyne (MUN), Ivan (qpr, STO) +4

    or

    B) Baines (wba, NEW, swa)

I’m thinking it might be smarter just to stick as I’ve already taken two hits this season, but thoughts appreciated 🙂 🙂 🙂

I took an 8 point hit this week and brought in baines.
He is a great long term pick and should do well.

I normally don't take 8 point hits though but it's early in the season so plenty of points to be made.

Thanks for reply, this will be an 8 point if I go through with it. The main reason I'm thinking it could be worth it is that if I don't make a transfer I will have to play Clyne (MUN) who will probably only get 1 or 2 points

I was kinda in the same boat. My other defenders on bench is fabio and clyne. Both will do fook all this gw which is why I went with baines.

Yeah, the only thing I'm worried about is Ivan getting a big score next week, but I already have Hazard and Torres so I think that's enough Chelsea cover

Non Hazard owner here, for GW4 I can get him in for bale or take a hit...

Looking at the fixtures, Chelsea have two nice fixtures but then they take a turn for the worse...

    From GW6: Arsenal (A) / Norwich (H) / Tottenham (A) / Man Utd (H) / Swansea (A) / Liverpool (H)

Have a feeling I've missed the boat on him but wary of being left behind if he continues to score big with his high ownership. Haven't looked at the fixtures in depth yet to look for alternatives.

So jump aboard or take a risk and go without?

If you're looking to berbabudget, I'd recommend rotating Berbatov with Berbatov, 4.5m each and a huge differential for all those captaining Berbatov this week, Personally I went with Berbatov over Berbatov captain, always go with the home Berbatov imo.

So Everton close to agreeing a £5m deal for Bryan Oviedo. He is a 22 year old left sided player who can play in defence or midfield. The worrying thing is that Everton will not spend as much as £5m for a bench player.

Do this signal the end of Baines?

I would say Pienaar and Big Fella are nailed on, both vital to the way that Everton play, especially because Fro can play in the hole or anchor and Pienaar is pretty damn proficient on both wings or in the Cahill.

They seem the real deal this year, always been so well organised at the back, but Moyes always had issued building attacking systems. Seem to have a system that is very tough this year though with players who know exactly what they need to do. If they keep away from a lot of injuries I can see them being top 6 and maybe making a big run at the Worthless.

Baines is so fundamental to that team's attack it seems implausible he would be dropped for this guy we haven't really heard of. Pienaar too.

Sure he isn't covering another position? If he can play defender or midfielder he sounds, well, defensive. What about him going into the midfield two of the 4-2-3-1, perhaps where Fellaini was, and Fellaini pushing up permanently into the hole? Just speculating.

Good evening Ladies, Gentlemen and others. Thought I'd repost this as it's been about three hours since last time.

Well, while everyone seems to have come down with Berba Fever, here are today’s three pictures, from Bulgaria (or Berbaland, if you wish), Wales (in honour of Evs and myself) and Patagonia.

    ● Devetashka Cave, Bulgaria: http://i.imgur.com/fhQZC.jpg

    ● A snowy shot of Llyn Llydaw, Snowdonia, Wales: http://i.imgur.com/tWRkN.jpg

    ● “Los Cuernos del Paine”, Torres del Paine, Patagonia: http://i.imgur.com/RnOok.jpg

Also as a little side note, the collection has now reached 400 views, including more than 150 in the past 2 days 🙂

So I am currently in a league with a bunch of my friends. I currently have Bent in my team as part of my frontline that consists of RVP and Tevez. Would it be a good move to drop Bent to pick up Berbatov? Opinions please!

We have 10 teams in our league, and a player can only be used in 1 team. So by me sticking with Bent for now, Berbatov is surely going to get picked up by another team. So it's either I stick it out with Bent, or transfer Berba in before someone else does. Help! 🙂

Do we make transfers early to beat the rises and risk the players (Hazard) getting injured or do we wait but pay more?

Early in the season I transfer early. It's not often a player get injured and 0.3 on a couple of players can make a big difference.

I think it depends on the other transfers you could be doing. And if the player is likely to be key, and you won't be able to afford him after the rise, it would be excusable to bring him in early.

What is everyone's opinion on Mark's reasoning for getting Hazard in this GW then?

I personally believe he made the correct decision in the situation and that the potential benefits greatly outweigh the risk of injury and having to reshuffle your team to accommodate him before GW4 after he rises by 0.4-0.5m

Don't see the fuss. It was a good decision.. kinda wish I'd knee jerked him in for Mata for myself.

I remember an article on FFS a couple of seasons ago.. there was a 'beginners guide to fantasy football' and one of their lines was:

'Its never too late to get on a bandwagon'

I'd add its 'never too early'.. as long as it has wheels.
