The Rate My Team Tool (RMT) for members, rolled out on January 1, has been updated with some recent UI improvements, browser compatibility fixes and now also reflects the latest transfer moves and double Gameweeks.

Following yesterday’s FA Cup victory for Chelsea, we’ve added their additional fixture with Southampton to give both teams a double Gameweek and this is now shown in RMT for the players involved. The likes of Daniel Sturridge, Demba Ba and Joe Cole have also been moved to their new clubs so you can start building them into your RMT lineups to see how they are predicted to fare in the coming weeks. We will be updating RMT throughout the week as more team news comes in and the FPL update their squads with new player arrivals and players have their departure to the African Cup of Nations confirmed. I’ll keep members posted on the major updates each week.

In terms of fixes and improvements, following feedback from those using the tool early on, we’ve changed the method of removing players in order to make the took compatible with mobile devices. There have also been fixes for Internet Explorer and Chrome users.

There are still some bugs remaining in the “My Team” section when building a team from scratch. We’re looking to eliminate those, although we do plan to re-write the UI code for next season, so we’re aware that, with the comments system development our focus, some improvements may be shelved until the summer.

Nevertheless, RMT is up and running and providing our members with a new method of testing their theories, future transfers and team selection. During these Winter Wildcard times, it’s hopefully providing a useful new guide.

If you’re not a member and would like some more information on Rate My Team and how it can help you, view our two part previews, with part one here, and part two via this link. Half-Season memberships remain available for £10 with full information on the benefits, in addition to RMT, available via this page.

One query that has been raised which, perhaps requires further explanation, is based on the My Team view which recommends players in your squad that should be benched as subs in each Gameweek. Some users have noticed that RMT sometimes recommends players to be benched, even though they are predicted to score more heavily than a player in your lineup.

This is because RMT uses a probability of a player playing in a given Gameweek to calculate the average score shown in the table. However, behind the scenes, RMT also looks at a player’s likely score assuming that the player takes part in the match – e.g: it ignores the possibility that the player plays zero minutes. On occasions when this value is greater, it overrides the displayed average points when it comes to recommending your starting XI. As an example, if Robin Van Persie was a major doubt for Gameweek 22, RMT could still recommend playing him above another striker in your squad, even though the value shown to the user in the RMT table might be lower. As we know, you would often play Van Persie in this scenario and let the auto-subs take care of the rest: this tactic is reflected as a feature in the tool.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Well if it is like year, you EA will release TOTY this week, maybe all at once or defenders one day, midfielders the next, and forwards the last. Price should drop heavily. Sold my squad, and waiting for the market to hit the bottom to re purchase my squad and play with the rest.

Take a look at this for a general idea (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6gMXgT3SeI)
However, he said they may be in packs Wednesday, but they may/should be in packs today.

You know you spend too long thinking about this game when you're hoping Lambert won't rise before Ba potentially plays for Chelsea midweek, as you need the extra time to decide whether or not to keep Benteke.

Bench Taarabt or Silva this week? Sounds like a ridiculous question but a gamble on Taarabt at home against his former club.. could pay dividends.. Silva may well get his customary assist but I think Taarabt could possibly do that and score. What do you guys think?

Thing is though he was playing in the hole and does ok but often his shots are outside the box/potshots so the accuracy of his shots is never great. If he was getting more chances in the box he might actually step up a level in FPL. One to watch anyway.

Latcher's Inc. is a relatively new firm that is still in a period of rapid development. The company plans on retaining all of its earnings for the next six years. Seven years from now, the company projects paying an annual dividend of $0.25 a share and then increasing that amount by 3% annually thereafter. To value this stock as of today, you would most likely determine the value of the stock ___ years from today before determining today's value.

Whats everyones thinking re game time and points potential for Ba, Torres, Saurez and Sturridge?

Things are simplier when you dont have choices.

It seems likely that Surez's game time wont be affected as its likely both he and Sturridge will play, but if you choose either Ba or Torres you run the risk of not knowing who is going to play as its unlikely tinkerman will play - fair assessment?

If so why do I see so many RMT with Ba in them?

    Thoughts gents.....

I trust Ba to get more points from his playing time if they're about the same but who knows with Rafa.

I guess Sturridge gives you funds for elsewhere. I think I'll just watch them all for a week or three and see.
Keep what I've already got till then.

yupp. and it gives me ba instead of luiz for the dgw (which could be good or bad)

that's what i'm leaning towards. but yes suares against NOR is really scary.

you see the added dilemma is i can see suarez scoring and both lambert and ba doing very well this gw!

    Jussi Bego
    O`Brien Cuellar Clyne Gibbs Nelsen
Bale Sterling Michu Mata A. Young
    RVP Suarez Berba

I`ve got 2 FT, and 0.2 M in the bank.
I want to have as much Arsenal and Chelsea cover as I can for the 2 DGW,
but I don`t like taking hits.
I`m thinking Young and Suarez to Hazard and Ba this week. And Bale to Walcott next, then Wildcard after that.

Michu -> Bale for a hit and lose 0.4 value.
I've worked out my future transfer and it would mean I would have 3.8 def instead of Davies in my WC team - unless Wilson can be nailed on in 2 weeks time.
