As you may have seen earlier in the week, we’re now at a stage where we can begin testing a beta version of HomeCrowd comments, our new comments system, with some members of the community.

For this first phase we’re looking for a very small group of testers to ensure that we find any early compatibility issues on browsers and devices with the current steup, try out some of the basic functionality and to collect some early feedback and ideas.

This first version has very few bells and whistles aside from the ability to vote on comments, sticky comments, sort comments by rating and the addition of inline moderation tools. The latter will enable us to recruit moderators from the community for the first time and we’ll be testing this out with some of our volunteers on this first phase.

On the whole, HomeCrowd currently resembles the current version very closely – that is intentional for the first iteration. Those who help us out with some testing will get some further insight into the system and future ideas before it goes live, however.

If you’d be interested in helping us with this testing, please email us at homecrowd@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk with your username used on the site, your browser and device you’d be using to test the site and the hours you’d be around to help test.

All being well, we’ll get invites out and begin the first round of tests on Sunday.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Explain this to me: A defender gets a red for being 'last man' despite the keeper being there. But a goalkeeper wouldn't be sent off if a defender was covering the goal. The second situation is also much livelier to see a goal scored too.

It's like a goalkeeper getting fewer ppi for saving a shot than the player who missed.

People who make rules do make some inconsistent ones. Like when a player is tripped a outfield a foul is called and freekick is rewarded , whereas in 18 yard box it must be a rough challenge for referee to blow whistle for the penalty. At least that's the way games are officiated.

The phrase 'last man' does not appear in the rules. Instead, it's about whether the defender/goalkeeper is denying 'an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player's goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick'.

Which means each case has to be taken on its own merits and occasionally you will get some decisions which look inconsistent on the face of it.

a defender is covering only 10% of the goal. Goalkeeper covers a big majority of the goal. There's an obvious difference in both situations and you cannot categorise them the same.
Next time u'll say "A goalkeeper is allowed to use his hands when he is the last man, but if a defender is the last man then the defender cannot use his hands"
      Well, duh! 🙄

who knows really, DDG is the most nailed on i believe for around the same money. Even he might be rested though as Lindegaard only needs two more games (I think) to get his winners medal

Looks like he'll be rotated for a while longer. Rafael the safer bet, or even De Gea. Even then, neither of em are completely nailed on for every game.

I got Rafa in last week and he was benched. So its safe to say they all are gonna get rotated a bit.

    So guys,

With Bale and Walcott possible absentees and with Puncheon as your 5th MID a hit for getting in Maloney seems right. Will monitor the possible injury updates till friday.

    Any thoughts?

Puncheon > Maloney? Yes, i'd do that.

Think Bale will be fine though

        Thanks for reply.

Bale should be fine but i am more worried about Walcotts injury. Not too keen on losing him if its only one week off.

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4855663/San-Marino-0-8-England-Match-report-pictures-and-video-highlights.html

This newspaper claims England topped their group tonight: "The Three Lions roared top of their World Cup qualifying group as boss Roy Hodgson got the ultimate cruise he dreamed of".

    To my knowledge, they didnt...

Unless they are talking about, the as it stands table, before Montenegro scored?!

Lads seriously. Demi is a lad who gets his sources off twitter he's only passing on what's been said already. Give the guy a break, he's not breaking exclusives for Reuters or some shit.
