Martyniak Claims FPL Crown

Congratulations go to Matt Martyniak who, on a dramatic final day, claimed the Fantasy Premier League crown by just three points after the Gameweek 38 bonus points settled matters.

Matt, a veteran Fantasy Premier League manager, has competed in the game since the 2006/07 season and had previously recorded an impressive finish of 707th back in 2007/08. A recent arrival in the Scout community, he was just two points behind Kelvin Travers, another Scout league member, at the end of 90 minutes. However, it was the bonus points from Liverpool’s 1-0 win over QPR that proved decisive. Matt earned a total of five points via his Gameweek 38 signing, Philppe Coutinho, and left-back Jose Enrique which eventually saw him topple Kelvin at the summit.

That pairing ended the season topping our classic league with Evs finishing third and fifth overall and former leader, Julian Zipparo in fourth and sixth in the overall rankings.

Congratulations again to Matt and all our Scout League members who enjoyed such successful FPL campaigns and to all our FPL managers who helped to make the community so active, knowledgable and friendly.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      I finished 1044. Bit gutted really. Really wanted a top 1k finish. Had a good week but it wasnt enough.

    Thanks for the advice throughout the year guys! Been a bit of a lurker, but plan to be a more active poster next season. Still getting better at this thing, hopefully I can move into top 10k territory next season 🙂

    I'd like to say that I won't be around as much next season because I'll be doing the Leaving Cert, but I more than likely will be spending the same amount of time as I did this year.

    My best ever finish was the 2010/11 season with 2187 points and just outside 1k.

    This year is my best ever total 2216 which gives me a 9k finish... It's getting harder to do well at this thing!

    I'm up for the challenge again next season. Learn and move on. Night all.

      09/10 I got 2326 and finished 12k this year 100 points less and 3k higher ranking getting easier imo!!

        I think the score of the winner and everyone else each year largely depends on how the heavy hitters/captains perform throughout the season. That season 5 players scored over 20 goals each, the last two seasons only 3 players have done that.

    The most valuable team has a TV of 127.1m... Would have required some very detailed planning to get that TV, even if it meant your ranking suffers...

      That is unreal! It used to be interesting to keep an eye on it when the league was readily available. How did you find it now? Is it still full of purpose built TV teams on negative scores with a website as their team name?

    Time for another soppy post.

    End of my 3rd year playing FPL, mini league won for 2nd time. This time by 139pts. After two 40-50K finishes I have managed to push on and finish 4180.

    Since GW22, I have been trying to force my way into top 10K all to no avail as I kept taking one step forward and then few back (see GW22-33 in link below). The DGWs did it, specially GW36. Thanks to everyone who has bothered to take a moment out of their lives to reply to any question/moan/grumble/query that I have posted on here.

    Its a funny Old Game this.

    GW 37: Did Lukkaku > Sturridge. (Sturridge gets 15 points with a hattrick, i feel like a GOD)
    GW 38: Captained Sturridge, Lukkaku gets 16 points with a hattrick)

    Total over the 2 weeks: Sturridge = 19, Lukkaku = 18.

    FPL: the game can make you feel like the BOSS one week, and a IDIOT the next week!

    A big thank you to Mark and all the scouts. The articles, the podcasts and all the rest make the game so much more entertaining and interesting. I will definately become a member next year.

    2012/13 (discovered ffs) ranked 4,164!!

    Also won my mini league and a bit of cash. Will become a full member next year and see what happens. Can't imagine I'll reach these giddy heights again but you deserve some of my winnings at least!

    Oh great before today i was 89K thinking i was guaranteed to get under the 100k mark. But a score of 35 has ranked me 110K :(. This game sucks sometime, bring on next season.

    Just checked too - I might not do a screenshot of my gamesweek history as somebody suggested on the previous page. Ranked 7,423 in gw26 and 6,866 at the end of proceedings - 6 red arrows in the last 8 gws too...bugger....
