With less than four weeks left until the season gets underway, the Sky Sports Fantasy Football game for 2015/16 finally opened its doors earlier today.

Whilst Fantasy managers start to build their opening squads, reigning champion Geoff Pryor will be hoping to retain his crown after earning a cool £30,000 for finishing first last season – if you missed our interview with Geoff, click here for the lowdown on his title-winning campaign.

As many of you will know, the Sky Sports game is one that we’ve covered in the past, with our Members area including the relevant bonus point recipients across the positions.

After winning the Best League for each of the last three years, we’re looking forward to defending our title once again. The winner of last season’s Scout League picked up £1,000 for their achievements and we’re hoping to offer prizes for whoever finishes at the summit once again.

We’ll be re-starting our official league soon and will be rolling out a series of articles over the next couple of weeks, looking at the Player List and analysing the best tactical approaches.

Regular contributor d1sable is on board once more to roll out his regular Friday afternoon articles – he clinched yet another top 100 spot in 2015/16 and will be looking to heap the pressure on Geoff at the summit.

We’ve set up a new community article to exclusively deal with Sky Sports Fantasy teams. Those looking to get involved with the discussion should click this link.

Just like to say, don't think it is a good idea to have a 4 man defensive rotation. Think you need two defenders who are going to play most weeks.

I think I would rather have 2x2 rotating defenders than having to decide between 1 defender out of 3.. Always gonna have points on the bench!

One premium defender, 2 pairs of 2 that rotate well.

Agreed, things can get messy quite fast with 4 way rotations

Having 5 playing defenders is better than having a 4.0 anyway.

Well I was told if the place didn't have something I particularly wanted I should just let them know. So I've taken a couple of meals from the wedding menu and the daily menu on line and asked if we can have a tasting in 2 weeks. He's replied saying I need to just choose from the wedding menu, which isn't what we agreed. Ive just started and am already hitting hiccups. Not sure whether to strong arm or what.

Have you hit any stumbling blocks?

            1. Lucy.
              • 12 Years

Argh, irritating. We hit a stumbling block when we agreed a date and put a deposit down and then they said they'd double booked. Tom blew up (it was a teensy bit embarrassing) and then I played the 'gosh I'm sorry, he's just so disappointed' card, even when we were really quite flexible on dates. So they moved it to the following week but gave us a free dinner, knocked a chunk off the wedding bill, and gave us some more free rooms for family after the wedding. 😀

My only tip, not that it helps now, is to communicate via email as much as possible because then you have written agreements which they'll find harder to go back on.

I'd go in quite firm. And ask them to explain why they can't do something from the daily menu. And if it is such a problem, why did they agree to it in the first place? But never use an ultimatum because I've seen it backfire on a few couples.

              Any help?

Thoughts on Scott Sinclair? Signed for Villa permanently now. Granted he hasn't played much since moving to City, but if he can recapture his form during his Swansea days (his best season ended with 150 points without bonuses) he could be a real steal at £5m. Worth a risk or look elsewhere? (i'm hoping he might do a Siggy.. but depends if he'll even start)

I think something like that, with Ozil a bit more forward and Cazorla nearer to Coquelin.

Or possibly with Oxlade Chamberlain, Walcott up front and Giroud as impact sub. Wilshire probably will have to settle for a sub role.

Of those I think most weeks Ozil, Coquelan and Ramsey are the most nailed on.

The case for maxing-out your starting 11 for GW 1-3 this season:

One of the cardinal rules of FPL is to have bench players who actually play 90min, available at the cheapest price. Another rule that's emerged from the many hot topics on GW1 squads is to invest in proven, surefire starters from top 4/top 6 teams.

I'd argue that this season, if we follow the second rule, the first rule can be ignored, at least for the first 3 GWs. This is because the absence of Sanchez and perhaps Aguero, along with Hazard and Silva's moderately difficult GWs 1,2(silva) and 2,3(haz) results in two things :

    1. We can go without these premium attackers for the first 3 weeks, which lets us afford a fully loaded starting 11 with premium defenders and nailed on attackers

    2. We would anyway scramble to get these premium attackers in during gw4, during which we can downgrade premium defs to nailed cheapos which we would have identified over the first 3 weeks

Keeping this in mind, I think the following team would be worth it, at the risk of having no real bench-

    Schmeichel
    Ivan Kosc Smalling
    Fab Yaya Ozil Ritchie
    Rooney Costa(c) Sakho

    Bench: Barry Targett 4.0 4.0

    What do you think ?

There's no reason to go all premium in defence when the top 4 sides usually start slowly and the smaller sides will see an increase in baps with a cleanie

Am I the only one who thinks that starting with one or two defenders from promoted teams is a bad choice?

I understand going with 4.0 promoted starters but as there are non certainly there are better options at 4.5£.

Depends entirely on whether you plan to play them regularly or not.

I doubt many people with disagree with you if you mean starting as in first XI

But you never know how'll their defenses fare in the prem. Would rather have defenders from Stoke/Leicester/Sunderland to start with.

I would think so. LVG chose him over Clyne. For the whole of last season who said he wanted a new RB to.

    RMT

    Cech (Butland)
    Terry, Clyne, Cedric (Bassong, Richards)
    Hazard, Ozil, Wijnaldum, Deulofeu, Grealish
    Kane, JRod (Deeney)

    2.5 ITB

Had the 2.5 for Sanchez GW2 but could downgrade Cech (or 5.5 keeper) to a 4.5 and upgrade Kane to Aguero.

    Also not sure on Cedric
