Our next members article assessing the previous season takes a look at Sunderland’s campaign, with most of the focus on the impact of new manager, Dick Advocaat.

Following a 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa in March, the Dutchman replaced Gus Poyet at the helm, with his side sitting 17th in the league, just a single point clear of the relegation places. Advocaat guided the Black Cats to a 16th-place finish, after picking up three wins and three draws from their final nine matches, with their survival clinched in Gameweek 37 after a goalless draw at the Emirates. After initially turning down an offer to stay on at the Stadium of Light, the Dutchman signed a one-year deal to remain in the North East.

    Predictions for Defoe's season? I can't see anyone else scoring the goals for Sunderland, unless Lens hits the ground running?

      Fixtures are not bad, good value and proven goalscorer. Have him in to rotate with my fifth midfielder Colback and reckon it is a decent differential. Everybody seems to have Deeney in that bracket and he is unproven at top level.

      I think he's just keeping both jones and matthews on their toes. Can't see us rotating full backs. We're not man city or arsenal.

      On coates it's a bit of a coin flip who'll get the nod between him and kaboul to start the season with. Coates deserves it given his form end of last season, however he may be eased in with playing the copa america.

      Like it. Many will say no Lukaku but he has a great first fixture and can score against anyone ( but next fixtures are terrible). I would downgrade Ritchie to 4.5 and use the money elsewhere.

          Same here - lot of Lukaku haters on here and yes he can frustrate.

          After Watford he has Southampton who have a completely new defence and no Schinderlin protection in front. Then Man City who are not the cleverest at the back, likewise Spurs. If he looks poor and Tekkers good its a quick swap for little cash...

    Thanks in advance, thoughts are to bring Kun in for Costa prob dropping azpilicueta. Tried a few combos but can't bring myself to leave out Hazard. That's where the majority of headaches have come from.

      I think u need a bit of Arse in their somewhere, Depay being new to the PL is a risk and u have Roo as Man U cover so Depay to Ozil/Ram/Caz, looks good otherwise
