Our next members article assessing the previous season takes a look at Sunderland’s campaign, with most of the focus on the impact of new manager, Dick Advocaat.

Following a 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa in March, the Dutchman replaced Gus Poyet at the helm, with his side sitting 17th in the league, just a single point clear of the relegation places. Advocaat guided the Black Cats to a 16th-place finish, after picking up three wins and three draws from their final nine matches, with their survival clinched in Gameweek 37 after a goalless draw at the Emirates. After initially turning down an offer to stay on at the Stadium of Light, the Dutchman signed a one-year deal to remain in the North East.

            yeah, I would say so. Had the same problem myself last season. went 2 mids and defender last year with my first three, but one of the mids was benched and the other injured early on. by the time fourth round came around, slim picking up front.

      A Chelsea or Arsenal defender
      Hazard
      An Arsenal mid
      Aguero or a plan to get him in
      Walcott and Sterling too apparently.

      not a fan of having a 6.0 playing in a 3-5-2 system, but only my thoughts. Would reconsider. I like the front line...too much risk with Depay and Wally?

      I kinda expect to have that GK combination after my first wildcard, but the fixtures are so bad in the first few weeks that I couldn't do it to begin with.

    A huge decision this year is deciding which of the 'Big Four' to leave out - Hazard, Sanchez, Aguero, Rooney.

    Each has a solid alternative - Fabregas, Walcott, Costa (arguably a big hitter himself), Benteke.

    I know that logically replacing Aguero with Costa and having an extra £2m is right..... yet I just cant leave him out. What's the right answer?

    Mitrovic looks tempting but difficult to tell without any pre season. Alternatively Wijnaldum looking good, scored in 2 friendly games I believe and 7.0m

    Any thoughts, as although they have no PL experience, both are good players at tempting prices

      Wijnaldum is actually a very very good player, but Newcastle haven't got great fixtures so it's probably just best to see how both settle in prem.

      Judging on what i saw from him at Anderlecht, Mitro is a bit lazy on the pitch imo
      he lacks the movement of a quality striker

      Pre season form helps players confidence but with new castles opening fixtures I will say no no no. U can judge it urself after 2 or 3 games and can decide whom to pick.

      Pretty good Bambi. Good team balance...I like it.

      Would be tempted with Giroud + Wally > Kane + Ozil/Ram/Caz just to avoid having 3 Arsenal players.
