Capping off the day’s play, Watford duel with Manchester City at Vicarage Road. Notwithstanding their gutsy performance, the Hornets’ five-match unbeaten streak ultimately came to an end at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur on Monday, while the Sky Blues’ trip to Leicester ended in a goalless draw.

Only Spurs (eight) mustered more goals than Watford (seven) over the last four Gameweeks, while the latter also ranked joint-fourth for big chances (nine). The Hornets retained their diligence on the defensive end, conceding four goals and the joint-fewest big chances (two) across that stretch, offering prospective Sergio Aguero investors food for thought. It’s also worth noting that only three sides have conceded fewer home goals (eight) than Watford.

Man City charted joint-second for goals (seven), second for attempts (73), top for shots inside the box (45) and second for shots on target (25) over the last four Gameweeks, marking a significant upturn in attacking potency compared to their four match-ups prior to Gameweek 16. Nonetheless, Manuel Pellegrini’s charges are still struggling to exert their influence away from home, illustrated by the fact that only three teams have chalked up fewer road goals (eight).

It's weird how mangala is so bad. Where did he comes from? La liga? Has he ever has a good game for city?

its not that he looks poor - his movement is excellent - its just the team are not playing well together

    Otamendi: £35mil
    Mangala: £42mil

PL clean sheets when they both start: 1

Well a lot this season considering Komany's injury woes

Take into account the fixtures they had as well and it's very poor from £77mil of CBs

Everyone bringing in Payet - is it a little early?

2 away games up next, then City. And he's been out for months. I'm think a short term gamble on another mid value mid for the next 3 before moving to Payet might make more sense

He already looked great today in 20(!) minutes he played. Bournemouth and Newcastle away are both supe-easy fixtures, so is City (they are terrible at the back). Many are looking to get rid of the likes of Ramsey, Walcott or Coutinho, so Payet is a fantastic pick for 7.6 only.

Also, he should have had an assist today but Kouyate missed a one-on-one situation.

I think the problem with City is that their players are too naturally fluid at times

So hard to pick out a pass to a team mate when you've no idea which way he's going... might be just a communication thing for many.
