Our series of in-depth team-by-team members’ articles continues this morning with a look at Everton.

We get underway by checking out the team performance levels in a bid to spot any trends of improvements before casting an eye over the standout individuals ahead of 2017/18.

After limping home in eleventh place with 47 points in 2015/16 – just 10 clear of the drop zone – the Merseyside outfit flourished under new manager Ronald Koeman and finished in seventh spot on 61 points.

Yet in terms of goal threat, there was very little difference between their final campaign under Roberto Martinez, with the Toffees netting 62 times compared with 59 beforehand.

This is also backed up by the underlying numbers.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Has anyone seen Spurs trolling their own fans on twitter?

Making them all hashtag to receive a notification for an 'announcement'.
Then revealing a sale in the club shop.

    Both brilliant, and terrible.

Quiet is good for Spurs. If they keep all their players they have a shot at the title.

They'll drop out of top 4 if they don't improve their squad. Buy when you're strong

Planned to wild card early last season.Looking to hang on this year until November due to certain fixture changes and the fact you just don't gain much value over the international break like you used to.

Charlie Austin looks like great value in the transfer market right now if Pellegrino fancies moving him on and going exclusively with Gabbiadini. Would fit in well at any of the promoted sides plus the likes of Stoke, West Brom, West Ham, Burnley.

Defoe at B'mouth then. Not sure he will be nailed at this age and also means the likes of King now won't be as attractive.

got to say I strongly disagree will all of this.

King maybe if he plays just off the striker but you think Defoe at 34/35 will be able to play every game? Ibra showed signs of fatigue and he is aboutt he same age and doesn't have running around as part of his game as much as Defoe does.

Defoe should be fine at the start of the season. If he tired further down the road, well I'm not planning that far ahead.

What it does mean is the much-talked about cheap option of Stanislas and the less-talked-about Afobe become less attractive.

You can't really compare Defoe and Zlatan just because they are the same age, it's all relative. Defoe is all about movement and getting in the right areas which he will do time and time again. He looks after himself and I don't think 34 is old in the modern game.

So does Ibra. Doesn't drink, does yoga, is in top shape. The doctors in the States that operated on his knee want him back to do tests when his career finishes as they can't understand how he is in such good shape for a guy his age. 34 is old if you're a movement/running based player. I can just see a decline but then as Andy Social says, you can always transfer him out if he declines as the season goes.

Big fan of Koeman, and Pickford & Klaassen are good players but nearly £60m on the pair is undeniably huge. Of course, Everton play in the Premier League - so they have a lot of money.

      Klaassen £27m
      Grifo £5m(!)

      Ibe £15m, Bolasie £30m
      Sarabia £750k

      Stones £50m, Keane £25m?
      Brooks £14m, Söyüncü £2m
      Vestergaard £10m, Glik £10m

      Mason £13m
      Demirbay £1.5m

All from the past year. It's only getting worse, which probably explains why it's so quiet.

West Brom being linked to Ranocchia who played for Hull last season.
He is defo a Pulis type of defender - i.e. big tall lad.

Good to see they're doing some defensive business. Thinking I might go with Nyom + Foster + Myhill. Technically it's a triple-up but it's basically a double - up.

Haha yeah i'll prob be doing the samemate, Foster-Myhill but really want Dawson too.If money ends up being tight I prob will downgrade him to nyom/evans.

Yes, would prefer Dawson myself but my 5.0 defender (I only want one) will probably be a Soton one. Evans was a pain last year with injury, especially as I bought him when McAuley was the same price. One of my season-defining decisions. We'll see if I've learned my lesson when it comes to injury prone players. You reckon Nyom is nailed or could Brunt drop back there now and again?

Yeah Evans is very injury prone...he might even leave for Leicester according to rumours...and yeah there is a bit of a risk with Nyom being replaced by Brunt at left back.We just have to wait and see how Pulis lines them up in pre-season I reckon.

    To the suits @ FPL.

It's obvious that Defoe will be Bournemouth's lone striker next season.
