Another Gameweek, another Harry Kane blank.

As covered in Sunday’s Knee Jerk, it wasn’t supposed to be like this, so in this week’s Technical Area we’ll be digging through the rubble of another disappointing weekend at Wembley and dissecting exactly what seems to be ailing Spurs – and in particular their talismanic forward.

Excellent Read. I really needed the data to keep me from shipping Kane.I'll take the price drop and go with the stats.

Is he gonna drop though, for some reason it seems to be taking ages with his price drop.

Well I've activated my WC and dropped him. On the morning of GW4 once his price has fallen 0.3m I'll likely bring him back.

I genuinely feel that the reason being given here for not ditching kane, that it's difficult to get him back in after you jettison him doesn't hold water. I'd rather ditch him to avoid a price drop or catch a price rise of another player with better form albeit keeping money itb to get him back asap once the 4-0s start raining in.

    Begovic, Elliot.
    *Kolasinac, Jones, Yoshida, Mee, *Dummett.
    Willian, Eriksen, *Ramsey, Carroll, *JWP.
    Kane, Lukaku, Firmino.

    1ft, 0.4m.

    1. Naughton + Pogba in for Kolasinac + Ramsey for a -4.
    2. Mbemba/Atsu/Pogba in for Dummett/JWP/Ramsey -8.
    3. Other?

Kind of favouring Number 2 cos surely Kolasinac will come good at LWB..
Mbemba is a risk but at 4.0m- not much to lose..
Also Atsu has decent fixtures and seems nailed... and then I can have Pogba too. It would mean a lot of dead weight gone for now until the WC in a few weeks time.

Would have 0.0m left after these 3 moves as well.

    Foster, Elliott,

    Eriksen, Pogba, Ramsey, Ritchie, Carroll
    Lukaku, Firmino, Jesus

1FT, 0.3 ITB. Concerns are Danilo and Jesus primarily, though I want rid of Ramsey too and want Mane/Salah..

Don't love that midfield. Don't think Ramsey is a good pick. I have Jesus and am thinking of getting rid (if I WC this week, still undecided). Rotation threat means I'll never be able to captain him with any confidence..

id rather go 9.0 (9.5)+ 5.0 in midfield over the two 7.0.

and unless theres big changes in the transfer market, id stay the hell away from arsenal for the moment, although kola should start a majority of games now that the ox has gone. arsenal fan here.

Good article, but... couldn't the stats equally reflect the opposite argument.

A combination of above competitor and historical average individual/team performance has resulted in 3 blanks.

Unless you think outperformance is sustainable, reversion may stymie expected future returns not increase them.

I'm perplexed about this. He doesn't want to play wing back at Arsenal so he won't want to be cover for Alonso. Does he think he'll usurp Fabregas or Bakayoko? He'll just be a benchie on double-wages, won't he?

        1. vova

He did apparently reject £180k per week from Arsenal and I doubt Chelsea will pay him that or significantly more. I think he believes that he has a good chance to take Moses' place. Plus the fact the he can cover 3 positions likely means that he will get a lot of playing time with Chelsea being involved in more fixtures than last year.

      Topic.

For those of you NOT wildcarding this international break but planning to for the next international break, questions:
~ you plan to take some gambles on transfers as its only really for four gameweeks?
~ if so, who are you considering?
~ a wee filter of the fixtures brings teams like Spurs, West Ham, Man Utd, Southampton out on top with ARS also looking nice.

I'd pick Mkhi over Alli and use it to upgrade your bench/defence. Otherwise I really like it. Only tough thing will be picking the captain every week.

Amazing how quietly Morata has been racking up the points! Highest scoring forward so far. Wasn't expecting that at all.

Especially as he's supposed to not be match fit yet!

Exactly. Can see him and Hazard linking up well tbh. Definitely encouraging signs!

Kane - Morata - Firmino will be the template front three before long.

I think Lukaku might slip in there and maybe mane and Salah double up in the middle..but that will cost a lot

since kane kaku morata is pretty much impossible, im hoping they rotate their injuries well during the season.

As an Arsenal fan and a FPL manager I'm having to look at the brighter side of the transfer news. At least by the end of August there will be some good 4.5 options in Arsenal's starting line up.

Just a joke. Although the way Wenger is going it wouldn't surprise me if a late £40m deal for Chancel Mbemba is done by the deadline.

I know Doos will probably correct me here but....

I do think that West Ham midfielders could prove a massive differential at the moment and they do have good fixtures. I think they will click eventually and Lanzini is only 6.9m.

Might punt on him on my WC

Rumours that he has an knee injury. Dunno if it's an "International" injury.

Fair enough but if he's fit at 6.9m surely he's a decent option? Huge differential

You know best, I havnt watched him much recently but isn't he West Ham's best creative talent?

Very punty with their current form. The fixtures appear kind but atm it looks like they can lose to any team in the league.

I would avoid lanzini. He is a fantastic player but is not a good fantasy option. Yet.

They just lack fight when they go down and confidence in the manager. It's akin to punting on arsenal players right now.

I think Arsenal should get rid of alexis, ozil,Walcott and sign Asensio, Varane,Casimiro...those signings would be perfect...if only this was Fifa!
