No more no less. Three is the magic number.

In a week where we ponder shifting to a “power three” in our line-ups, the ScoutCast is reduced to its own Tri-force, as Jonty and Andy join me as part of a skeleton crew for this latest episode.

Don’t worry, somehow we still manage to string things out for 80 minutes. After all, there is much to discuss, not least the current emphasis on the big strikers and the demise of Bobby Firmino – the driving force behind my apparently ill-time Wildcard.

Talking of which, with Jonty’s own Wildcard booked in for the international break, he eagerly assesses the forthcoming “fixture swing” that promotes investment in Man City and Chelsea, among others.

Elsewhere your community questions guide us to examine the latest optimum formation and to check in with “piggy bank” Marcos Alonso’s after his cruel 58th-minute withdrawal in the Potteries.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So my Stephens -> Mendy -> Jones worked out well. Great 2 FTs 🙂

    1. @persecuted_by_mods
      8 years, 9 months ago

But Mendy got injured at the weekend :/ did you make that transfer before any games had been played

Stephens -> Mendy before the weekend, so I caught his 0 points. Did Mendy -> Jones early because of Mendys injury and Jones was set for a price rise.

Stephens -> Mendy was just unlucky. Started, but got injured. Mendy -> Jones did seem like a safe move because Mendy was definitely out, and Jones haven't played in europe and was rising in price.

    1. @persecuted_by_mods

Involved in a car crash, most sources say broken or fractured ribs. He's definitely been involved in the crash as his old club have tweeted wishing him a speedy recovery and I doubt they'd do that to an unconfirmed rumour

Shocking news, first and foremost hope he isn't too badly hurt - going to be huge volumes of transfers today, suspect Lukaku to be one of the main beneficiaries, which means he will lose his differential appeal.

This. Also can't see why Kaku would benefit since he is heavily owned already and fixtures not great. Jesus, Kane and Morata look the likely beneficiaries. Think I will now just hold Kaku through these fixtures.

Same with Rooney a few weeks back - why on earth don't they have a driver and car taking them around? Pay a guy 200k a week you'd think worth the investment to wrap them in cotton wool

I guess most will be going for Lukaku/Morata/Kane this week. Jesus comes into contention next week especially if long lay off. Kun injury also bolsters the chances of the likes of Sterling and Sane to nail down starting berths

With those city fixtures if Aguero is out for 2 months then I think you need two city attackers

Is Ogbonna nailed on in the new West Ham system? Who takes his place if he isn't first choice? Really need a 4.4m defender soon, and it may have to be one of Ogbonna, Francis, Dunk or Suttner.

The funny thing (dark humour) I take out of the Aguero incident is that I was all smug that he's playing home this midweek and yet he still gets injured abroad..

Fpl can do this to you

Over the years there's been a few random things like this, Bale's pregnant wife going into labour got me big time, there's been a few others too

Yeah the on field stuff you except but slipping at home on a wet floor or being a convicted pedophile is not something we FPL managers often take into account.

Any help appreciated here lads, need to get rid of Mounie and JWP but stuck on ideas on who to replace them with.

With Kun out what do we think City's main midfield/attack will look like?

Team vs Palace with Jesus instead of Kun
      KdB, Ferd, Silva
      Sterling, Jesus, Sane

Jesus, Sane, Sterling. B Silva is bound to rotate in at some point though. Midfield picks itself.

      Sane for me.

Both! Sane better but I think Sterling is more nailed on. Mind you, if both become nailed over the next few months

Yea it is so hard to decide which one as both look amazing now.
If I knew which one is more nailed I would go them but not entirely sure.
Hopefully Kun gets better as well 🙁

Which combo would you play this GW?

    A) Pickford, Holgate (hoping for EVE cleanie)
    B) Elliot, Wood (hoping for EVE conceding)

Plan was to go for EVE cleanies but their defence is a joke. Any thoughts appreciated

Cover both angles? Wood and Pickford

I would avoid EVE until they show a hint of form. Yesterday UEFA didn’t show that.
