Normal service is resumed with our weekly Sky Sports Focus article on hand to prepare you for the incoming Gameweek.

As always, we’ll examine the recent run of Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, the bonus point beneficiaries, transfer trends and Watchlist, before moving on to the Scout team and our future plans.

Gameweek 21 Man of the Match Awards

These were the players who caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters and earned an extra five points as a result.

Fixture MoTM
Watford vs Swansea Lukasz Fabianski
Chelsea vs Stoke Willian
Huddersfield vs Burnley Johann Berg Gudmundsson
Newcastle vs Brighton Mathew Ryan
Liverpool vs Leicester Mohamed Salah
Bournemouth vs Everton Ryan Fraser
Man United vs Southampton Wesley Hoedt
Crystal Palace vs Man City Timothy Fosu-Mensah
West Brom vs Arsenal Alexis Sanchez
Brighton vs Bournemouth Jose Izquierdo
Leicester vs Huddersfield Islam Slimani
Burnley vs Liverpool Dejan Lovren
Stoke vs Newcastle Ayoze Perez
Everton vs Man United Paul Pogba
Swansea vs Tottenham Hotspur Christian Eriksen
West Ham vs West Brom Andy Carroll
Southampton vs Crystal Palace Bakary Sako
Man City vs Watford Kevin De Bruyne
Arsenal vs Chelsea Eden Hazard
Tottenham vs West Ham Pedro Obiang

We need to talk about Kevin once again. Mr De Bruyne recovered from injury to put in another Man of the Match performance and take his tally to eight for 2017/18. Eleven awards has commonly been the most earned by a single player over the last five seasons but the Belgian is well on course to top that.

Compatriot Eden Hazard (six) and the game’s second most popular player, Mohamed Salah (seven), moved into third and second place respectively in the MoTM table, while the only other player with significant ownership to feature was Christian Eriksen (19.1%).

He has returned to form of late, only failing to score over five points in one of his last eight matches.

Gameweek 21 Bonus Points

Let’s take a look at those players who have earned 34 points or more in bonus this term.

Notes

Up to 153rd, but at the expense of a couple of transfers.

My beloved Philippe Coutinho left my team, so I was kind of forced into that one. Thankfully, another one of my favourite players, David Silva, returned at the perfect time for a direct swap. With Man City dominating both the league and the bonus point system, it felt like the logical move.

The other trade was something of a vanity transfer, although an injury to Mohamed Salah also helped nudge me to make it.

In came Christian Eriksen (and his 18 points over the two matches) due to him having four fixtures to the Egyptian’s one – and the one is Man City at home.

I’ll be watching that match “Salah-less” for the first time this season. Wish me luck people.

Captain Plan

Sat 13th – Kane (EVE)
Sun 14th – De Bruyne (liv)
Mon 15th – Phil Jones (STK)

I believe Deeney will share minutes with Gray tomorrow have no idea who would start(Maybe 45 minutes each since none has impressed so far). Agree that Okaka is better than both but cant see him getting any minutes tomorrow.

Downgrade DDG to a cheaper starting keeper, Christensen to Jones (or Davies if Rose is out).

    Thoughts on this WC:
    Pickford
    Alonso - VVD - Otamendi
    Sterling - Salah - Richarlison - Lingard - Albrighton
    Kane - Firmino
    Foster - Masuaku - Duffy - Ayew
    0.9itb
Leaves me with option to upgrade Rich/Lingard to Ramsey if he's nailed, and also could get Aguero for Kane, for Spurs' tough fixtures. Fixtures are strong for my first XI for quite a while.

The team is solid. Though I personally think once Lingard has a poor game, he'll be hit with rotation again. That makes your 3rd striker option questionable. Sorry for the negative reply.
If Lingard carries on though hitting this kind of form, your starting 11 is sweet

don’t like the midfield. lingard and albrighton are decent right now but could easily drop off form and there are no decent same price replacements and richarlison has been off the boil for some time. there are so many good options in midfield and you really only have salah and sterling

All day long mate. Though I've just said above that once Lingard throws in a blank or 2, he's back to being a rotation risk. I do like the look of Bolasie now and think he is about to hit form. Especially as he was acclaimed to be in the Everton Fab 4 by the powers that be. I think there will be a Bolasie and Tosun bandwagon soon

Lingard can't and won't keep this run up. Though I did say that about Sterling!
My feeling is that once he blanks, he's back to being a squad player. Especially when Jose makes a signing

Do you think managers pick players based on fpl points. Performance is what matters

Arnie is fit. Not much between the two. I wouldn't sell Arnie personally

    A. Firmino > Aguero for free
    B. Alli > KDB + Arnie > Mahrez for a hit
    C. Wilson > Aguero + Alli> Gross for a hit
    D. Save

    Adrian, Foster
    Christensen, Gomez Jones Ogbonna Mariappa
    Salah Sterling Alli Arnie Carroll
    Kane Firmino Wilson

You're in a lovely position there mate. Pep has again claimed Jesus is only out for a couple of weeks so maybe caution around getting Aggy in. You could upgrade Wilson to Vardy. Or wait till next week and upgrade to Tosun?
Or even upgrade Carroll to Lingard and jump on his bandwagon to make Monday night viewing more appealing.
I'm not a fan of Lingard though so I've avoided
