Surprisingly, more World Cup Fantasy managers are backing Aleksandr Kolarov (£5.5m) and his Serbia team-mates than Switzerland in tonight’s evening kick-off.

Kolarov, scorer of Serbia’s only goal against Costa Rica in Gameround 1, will be on free-kicks again and has 7.8 percent of McDonald’s FIFA World Cup Fantasy players invested in him for Gameround 2.

But the most popular asset for the match is midfielder Nemanja Matic (£5.5m) with eight percent ownership. That’s despite the Manchester United being involved in just one goal during qualifying.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (£7.0m)’s performance will be of interest to 6.7 percent of managers after he impressed against Costa Rica. The three chances he created was the joint-most of any midfielder in the opening round of Group E matches.

Meanwhile, Switzerland’s penalty-taking defender Ricardo Rodriguez (£5.5m) sits in just 2.2 percent of squads. The AC Milan left-back netted three spot-kicks in qualifying and added another two assists. With VAR ensuring a higher number of penalties at this tournament, he is certainly one to watch this match.

The most popular asset in the Swiss squad is substitute goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo (£4.0m), whose 2.7 percent ownership is almost certainly based on his budget price.

Despite Xherdan Shaqiri (£8.5m) creating the same number of chances as Milinkovic-Savic in Gameround 1 and assisting Stephane Zuber’s (£6.5m) headed equaliser against Brazil, he sits in just 1.8 percent of squads.

Oh. Well both of my GK have poor fixtures against Spain and Argentina. Meunier has England. Danilo, Pavard, James and Meza mightn’t play. Eriksen has France, Belhanda has Spain and Lukaku has England. I expect GW3 will be the highest scoring because draws don’t suit most teams. This makes me want to WC!

Is it worth wildcarding before unpredictable GW3 or use it before QF?

I picked Serbia and Senegal to come out of their Groups. My only mistake so far was Egypt but that's only because I was fooled like everyone else in thinking Salah was fit. I also underestimated the host team factor and overlooked corruption and doping. Should've known better.
Next time picking Qatar for sure. I don't care if they end up in a group with Brazil and Germany have to go with the home team always! With the exception of South Africa because they refused to pay off Fifa.

Wildcard ahead of group game 3 or ahead of the QF are the only true choices now.

I'd avoid England in that case. Having said that I can't see England or Colombia topping their group.

England vs Senegal/Japan would be nice

Gonna assess my players individually to see how likely they are to start. If there are enough doubts, I'll WC R3.

Hoping to save for QFs though. If I do, I'll probably spend decent money in R4 on 2 GKs and play BB, then WC one or both of them back out for the QFs.
