Japan v Senegal a match for extreme differentials

Japan and Senegal are set to play out another World Cup Group H match that has been largely overlooked by Fantasy managers.

In fact, no player in this fixture is owned by more than 6.6 percent on McDonald’s FIFA World Cup Fantasy.

The most popular asset is Japan left-back Hiroki Sakai (£4.0m) who appears to have reclaimed his starting place after recovering from an injury. He registered three assists in qualifying and could seriously pay dividends at a cut-price with a good performance against Senegal.

As World Cup Fantasy managers look to fill their squads with penalty-takers now that VAR has had an impact on the game, Shinji Kagawa (£6.5m) has earned more owners this week. He now sits in 4.6 percent of squads.

Outside of that, it’s budget punts for most Fantasy managers. Takashi Inui (£4.5m) did very well for Japan on their left-win against Colombia and has the backing of 3.2 percent today.

Youssouf Sabaly (£4.0m) and Salif Sane (£4.5m) are the go-to budget-enablers for Senegal, while Liverpool’s Sadio Mane (£8.5m) owned by 3.3 percent.

    On wildcard. Bench is: Mustapha (Panama), akanji (Costa Rica), Tunisia Def who's name slips my mind (Panama), cheryshev (Uruguay).

    All have a good chance of returns, even cheryshev who is on form v a Giminez-less Uruguay.

    Surely this is ripe for a bench boost. There aren't gonna be more likely clean sheets in the RO16 due to the weaker teams being weeded out? Am I missing something? The extra 5m could then be channelled more into my starting 11 for the RO16.

      Not loving some of your picks especially in defense.

      Muslera too expensive (Sommer is 5.0 and El Shenaway at 4.5)
      Mooy and Meza are weak picks and no German offense.

      Varela also more likely to not play. Ditch for Egypt or Tunisia def.
      Keep tabs on Shaqiri.
