Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.0m) is the World Cup Fantasy focus as Group B reaches its climax tonight.

The Portugal forward, with four goals in two matches, is owned by 33.3 percent to managers as his side prepare to face Iran.

Meanwhile, 20.7 percent are invested in Spain striker Diego Costa (£9.0m), who has three World Cup goals so far.

There is considerably more interest in Spain than there is Portugal. The next-most backed attacker in Ronaldo’s squad is Bernardo Silva (£8.0m) with 3.2 percent ownership.

However, there are players with double-figure ownership right through Fernando Hierro’s ranks.

21.7 percent of managers have backed Sergio Ramos (£6.5m) to record another clean sheet and possibly convert a penalty given that VAR has helped more of those be awarded than usual. 7.4 percent opted to save money by going with Gerard Pique (£6.0m).

David De Gea (£6.5m) still has the backing of 15.4 percent of managers despite his error in Gameround 1.

Further outfield, 22.1 percent of managers still own Isco (£8.5m) who is waiting for his first return of the tournament.

World Cup Data

We’re delighted to offer World Cup data as an early addition to our regular season offering to help those playing Fantasy games over the summer.

We’ve secured Opta data, not only for the tournament itself, which begins on June 14 but also from the Qualifying Rounds for Europe and South America and for international friendlies involving the participating nations. This includes all the matches played right up to the tournament kick-off.

Just to stress, this World Cup offering comes packaged with the regular Fantasy Football Scout membership.

Belgium could make up to 10 changes for their World Cup match against England in order to preserve players for the last 16, says manager Roberto Martinez.

England are a far superior and more cultured team. A great way to hide that from the world.

It is. But it’ll build a friendly rivalry to make the game more enjoyable.

It’s why games with big away followings get such good atmospheres

I remember the summer that Fergie set out to be a young Quaresma.
    Came back with Ronaldo instead.
I thought "what a cheapskate, just spend the dosh and get Quaresma"
Oops, although Quaresma is a wee bit unhinged which held up his carrer.

I have been so used to late gameweek players like Trippier , lukaku, kane etc saving the day.

Blowing my early gameweek beans on Ronaldo and Costa will be unbearable if they blank.

I already have Chesy Varela and Golovin asking for spots on my bench, so a Costa blank would be more than just a captain disappointment. Cavani teased me in his game.

Yeah but I don't want a 4.5m and 5.0m defender who's eliminated either. That's far worse since you may even lose the opportunity to bring in eliminated players at a lower price.
